There isn't any Disney Magic in this process!!

I'm probably slightly under-informed as I don't have kids, but can't people meet these two in EPCOT also? Norway or something? I guess I've gotten the impression that only the MK location 'counts' for the people who are intent on meeting them. I assume it's the scarcity effect at play.

They currently appear only in the MK. The spot in Epcot closed when the one in the MK opened.

Yes, and they're in the process of doing it. They get to pick where they put things.
Maybe I'm just naive, but I don't see the harm in assembling an ad-hoc meet and greet in one of the many empty spaces that currently reside in Epcot, as a temporary solution until Frozen Land is completed (well over two years since they identified a problem). They certainly constructed a mini-theme park in Hollywood Studios quick enough.

Thanks, I WAS under-informed. I thought people were dismissing non-MK "A&Es" as undesirable.

That does make WDW's choices seem very odd, but it still doesn't mean the whole FP+ system is broken. (And I'm still an outsider looking in, next week will be my first time actually trying the system, so my remarks may be taken with a grain of salt.)

I wonder if those who label many of us "FP+ haters" would be surprised to find out that we all have a great time when we're at Disney...... that in spite of disliking one piece of the puzzle, we still enjoy the Disney experience.

Mom, I just went back thru the last 3 pages. The only people to have mentioned the word "hate" or "hater" at all are... ariel, lake, jimmy, and now you. The four of you do tend to generally argue against the FP+ system, altho one is noted as neutral. Just saying. Nobody is labeling you, except maybe... you. Your views are what they are. I respect that FP+ isn't ideal for a lot of people. I have always stood by that. But I also am more practical than to sit here and complain about it. I've got a trip to plan, and I'm going to be a step ahead of the crowd like I always am. This next trip -- it will involve doing so by using FP+ to its fullest -- in ways never before imaginable with FP-.

Jimmy. Fine. 60 days isn't ideal? What is. You threw out 14, 30, 60, 90, and 180. Give 200 people the choice you'll get a nice bell curve of answers. So. Given there is no one optimal choice for everyone universally, and it has to be something, 60 is fine. I even like it. It makes sense to me, for a lot of reasons.

And I hope you have an awesome trip. :)

Are you saying you don't think the people you are referring to have been called "haters" in the past? On more than one occasion?

There's nothing Disney does that makes me mad at other customers and I don't get mad at other customers when they have a problem with Disney.

But looking over some of the comments, I suppose it's a good thing the "haters" can take cheap shots all day long and not get upset about it while still responding with reason.

Actually I'm not a big fan of FP+ either. I kind of wish they would take away the prebook completely. Why 7DMT has become the ride version of Le Cellier where you have to book far in advance or forget it. I would like you to be able to book FP the day you're at the park. Either by the app or by a kiosk so you don't have to run around the park.

Would you rather I have taken that expensive and very short spur of the moment trip (in peak season) then come back and complained about how long the standby line was for the 7DMT? I know what I value.

As for FP+ you may have been surprised at availability.

Exactly what we did XMAS week, FP+ was awesome and picked most the day or night before. We did pick 3 7DMT the week before just to nail some times down and worked around them but it was a quick FP+ for us that night of the NYE preview fireworks at midnight.

I'm curious why those who have nothing but praise for FP+ can't seem to acknowledge that others do see good things about it but also do see and experience some disadvantages to it. Is that not okay for some reason? Are these boards for positive experiences only? Social media is the present day Customer Service Toll Free Line, negative experiences are bound to spill over onto these boards, boards that many have acknowledged Disney reads, why wouldn't it be okay for them to see some of the reasons why people might be upset with the way they do something so they can improve it?

But apparently if you don't think it's 100% wonderful then you are labeled a "hater" who prefers the old paper system and live to undermine the entire Disney enterprise.
Well said! So reasonable. So pragmatic.

Of course that is coming from someone who has gone on record as having said that because of FP+ the only way they can find value in a WDW vacation is to be happy going on three attractions in a day and waiting on long lines for everything else, that FP+ has necessitated them extended what had been four decades worth of week long trips.....er, sorry, a handful of week long trips over four decades.....to two weeks so they could accomplish the same amount, that FP+, having driven them off, is going to save them 20 grand because they are going to pack up there lodging and food dollars and take them elsewhere, and who mockingly (I assume) says FP+ saves lives and slims thighs!

Maybe some do, but I'm not buying the pragmatic '50 Shades of Grey' shtick when it comes to some people's demonstrated position on FP+

I wish I could buy into what you said above. I've been just that way on the 'like' side of the aisle. I've always been the first to genuinely admit that FP+ has warts. Sure, I think there are pluses that outweigh some of those minuses, so I'm a net plus....but at least I've always been willing to objectively talk about it all. Kind of like you are SUGGESTING you have done?

Just curious. Everybody likes making FP+ reservations in advance, but everybody is upset at the lack of availability.....of A&E.....because that is really the only one that can be largely unavailable?

Since WDW seemed so enamoured with "testing", I would have liked to see it come out of the box at 30 and 10 instead of 60 and 30. Hours are more certain. Plans are more certain. You might "even like it". We are seeing some reports of people with A&E FPs getting notification that they are being stripped away due to operational changes. While I can't guarantee that this would not happen with a 30 day window, it certainly lessens the chances.

I think the only place Anna and Elsa meet right now is MK. They will be meeting in Epcot once Frozenville (tm) is finished.

Norway ended A/E at EPCOT, but the massive empty buildings remain.

Maybe it's time to take a cue from LeCellier and revisit my early suggestion that they make 7DMT and A/E a "signature FP" experience and require 2 prebooking slots to reserve?

I don't like making reservations for rides at all in advance. At 60, 30 or even 2 days! We book adrs yes, but always buy hoppers so we could get to adrs if we were at another park. I liked waking up and saying to the girls " what kinda day is it? AK kind? MK? etc" and being able to go to that park and get my fast passes for the day and walk onto other attractions if I missed out on the big fast passes. Now if I can miss out on big rides by not getting Fps AND then have to stand in long lines for secondary rides.

..... although I will add that I've been watching for some word that it will be in addition to, and not instead of..... the current M/B in the MK. So far no confirmation one way or another.
