I am thinking of eating at the Crew Cup Lounge after our La Nouba show when we get back to the resort with ds next week. Do they have an actual server come up to a table or do you order at the bar etc., seat yourself etc? I am sorry to say that with the many times I have passed the place I have never paid that much attention etc. I just always think it looks kind of dark in there etc. TIA for any info.

We ate at Crews Cup Lounge after we saw LaNouba. We got there around 8-ish. We sat in a booth and had a server just like a regular restaurant. But the menu is small. It has very good food and we are planning on eating there when we are at the YC in Sept.

This lounge is a little more like a small restaurant than a bar, in my opinion.

I've been reading some reviews of the BC and some people say that the rooms are dated. When I look at pictures, the rooms seem fine... actually really nice. I know that they are refurbishing the rooms, but I'll be there in December and it's probably unlikely that I'll get a refurbished room.

I think I'll love it... the location alone is worth the price. I'm just wondering your thoughts and opinions. Especially if you've been to Disney lots.

Yes, there is a server for the tables. We ate there once for late dinner (with a wonderful, fun group) and once for lunch on departure day during our recent visit. Yummy!

Our only problem with this trip and it's not BC or disney related it was taking my DD friend with us. She ate like a bird, which caused or DD to do the same (and this isn't the case at home), after the first 2 days of paying adult prices for them, I cancelled all our ADR's and just ate quick services. We did enjoy Teppan Edo and took home a nice size doggie bag. Park wise she wasn't happy unless we/she went on Space/Rockin Rollercoaster or Everest. Even in the pool I noticed she would go off on her own leaving my DD by herself. Now at home these two are inseparable, they've been BFF's since kindergarden, I just don't get it. I'm not even going to get into the lack of respect towards myself and DH or what a slob she is and again she's not like this at home. She comes from a big family, 6 kids and no way could they afford to go to Disney. So lesson learned, we tried to be nice and ended up getting burnt in the end.

I sooo feel your pain! Reading your story brought back a lot of not-so-good memories. We tried to "be nice" and invited family to come with us on our 2012 trip. These family members had never been to WDW. Sadly, the drama that ensued really brought down the overall enjoyment of the trip for our family. Yep, like you said, "lesson learned". One of the things my DH, 2 DSs and DD keep bringing up with regard to our upcoming trip is.... "How great it's going to be with JUST US!" All 5 of us are WDW vets, we all love wdw and know how to go-with-the-flow and enjoy basically the same aspects of each park.

We got a bus at 9.05am this morning to Magic Kingdom from Yacht Club. There were 14 of us on it and we didn't call at Beach Club. Go figure!

We are back home from our wonderful stay at the BC. Our room at the BCV was on the 2nd floor facing the street, didn't get any of our room requests but did have a corner studio with a huge balcony. The weather was hot, hot, hot but really didn't rain much. Only used our poncho's twice on our 8 day stay. The storm on Saturday night got us as we were walking into MK and later saw on the news that a car was hit by lighting in the Epcot parking lot. The staff as always were excellent, they were very helpful when DH had to leave early because of his father went into the hospital. All is well now and I still don't get why my DB-inlaw couldn't handle the situation, but sometimes that's family for ya. The kids loved Stormalong Bay, we were there everyday and had no problem finding a spot. Enjoyed a few Sunken Treasures, but really loved the Gray Goose Slushes from Epcot. Did noticed one night that there was no one at the entrance at the pool checking, so I asked about the next day and was told there was a scheduling conflict and no one was scheduled for the night this week. You really have a great view from the pool of the Frozen fireworks at HS. Our only problem with this trip and it's not BC or disney related it was taking my DD friend with us. Ok venting over and still with all this drama overall we had a really good time. I got my DD turned onto Splash and Thunder Mtn (it was closed last time) and we rode those several times this trip. We did a couple of rides I haven't done in years like HM, Maelstrom, Living with the Land and explored alot more at each country in Epcot. On a positive note, we are already talking about going back. But next time just the 3 of us and we're thinking about doing 2 days at Sea World then 12 days at either BCV or trying YC. DH will only stay here, I mentioned maybe a split with BWI and right away he says NO!! We've done 10 days, now 8 days, he wants 2 weeks, so I'll take it and stay were ever he wants. As always you guys are the best and I appreciate all the help you given me planning this trip. I'll go back to lurking and dreaming of our next trip back.

i feel your pain. We invited our DDs friend with us. Now our experience was a bit different. The friend was great. She had a blast. Acted like a little kid, enjoyed all rides and even made masks in world showcase. My dd however acted like the whole trip was beneath her. She texted her boyfriend on every ride that her phone wouldn't bounce out of. Needless to say she helped make our trip less magical. She has decided never to go with us again. So this time we are leaving her with grandma.

I really think it's interesting to hear people complain about the scratch on the arm of the chair, the worn fabric of the curtains and the cabinet door that isn't hanging just right. Yes, we are paying a few extra dollars to stay at the BC/YC and we hope that the decor is of "Biltmore" quality, but in reality, there are hundreds of people going through this place every day. It just doesn't stay "Biltmore" quality, it is a fact of life. Look at the pictures (as you have) and you will see that things are fine and really nothing to worry about. If you get a room where a child had been using a cabinet door for a ride so it isn't hanging just right, or a light bulb needs to be replaced, call the housekeeping staff and it gets taken care of. At least that is my experience. I haven't stayed at a WDW resort yet (and I have stayed at most of them over the last 40+ years) that has been perfect but that they haven't done their best to make it that way when I pointed out the problem to them.

We are taking our family (3 sons + one girlfriend 26 26 25 & 16) to Disney the week of Thanksgiving. As a Family, we are staying at POFQ. That being said, I booked a 2 night stay at the YC for just my husband and I prior to the chaos. We will be celebrating our 30th anniversary and look forward to a few quiet days and Epcot also. November can't get here soon enough. .

We stayed at AKV in January and my husband noticed things like the rubber stopper missing from the door stop. I'd have never picked that out on my own. I attribute it to him being more observant. He didn't find problems that would prevent him from staying there again, he just thought things looked a bit worn. I've read reports of YC rooms feeling worn and I didn't notice anything. It makes me wonder what he would have picked up on had he been with us last week.

I hope I can get a more coherent review posted this weekend, but getting home Sunday and having school start the next day put a serious crimp in even my lurking. I'm hoping to return next year, the week after Thanksgiving. Stay three nights at the BC, since we tried YC this time around and want to be equal opportunity, then move to the AKL for the rest of the week. My husband would rebel completely if he didn't get to stay there at all.

I thought I should post a brief update about my youngest, even though it's off topic. The results of her cardiac monitor weren't what I hoped (fluke), but not terrible. Call out to Ninja Mom, since we discussed this in the lazy river (on topic!) - she had 6,694 PVCs in a 24-hour period. We get to repeat the joy of a holter monitor on a toddler in six months.

For anyone able to meet up with any of our dis friends, do it. It was fabulous! There's something very special about running into someone you know when surrounded by tens of thousands of strangers that just can't be described.

Arrived home last night. What a horrible flight. It left Las Vegas on time and we were ready to land at Orlando 30 minutes early when they announced the airport closed due to lightning. We circled a while and then they announced we had to go to West Palm Beach to refuel since it looked like the storm wasn't moving any time soon. Off we went ... spent an hour on the ground at West Palm Beach and when Orlando opened up again, off we went to Orlando. Arrived two hours late and my poor Bob was waiting the whole time and he actually got there early because he was worried about Labor Day Weekend traffic. Then it took an hour to get the bags which were soaked.

Poor Bob has decided no more for him so from now on, unless he is traveling with me, I have to park at the airport and use the shuttle to and from long term parking. I can't blame him. We're 45 minutes away from the airport and last time they lost my bags and it was two hours filling out forms.

Looking forward to seeing all the Disers there tomorrow!!! Hope some are still around!!

I know September is a typically slow time and that's why they offer free dining and things. But, it looks like BCR is completely sold out when I will be there in 3 weeks. I'm guessing this is because of F&W. Wondering how crowded it's going to feel in the resort and in the pool. Usually in September we have very low crowds. It's not unusual for us to be the only ones waiting for a bus, etc. Wondering if it will feel different from our other stays. ??

Last day of our trip, we will be checking out of YC early tomorrow for the drive back to NJ. We have really enjoyed our stay here, watching Illuminations, then walking back and watching Frozen fireworks from the beach over the Boardwalk Hotel was great, the kids loved SAB, and the service has been great (although mousekeeping has been inconsistant with coffee replenishment. We booked BB free dining for next summer, but alas it is for POFQ, I can't justify non discounted YC rates for us, LOL.
