Eeeek! Checking into YC tomorrow! This has been a crazy week with family drama and overwhelming work stuff, so we are feeling very unprepared. But, once we get there and I have a drink in my hand things will be A-OK! :thumbsup2

We're also checking at YC tomorrow. :dance3: We're driving down from Atlanta. It seems many of us will be there for the weekend.

The best cure for family drama and overwhelming work is a good dose of the YC/BC.

Don't worry about being unprepared. Just throw a bathing suit, some shorts and t-shirts in a bag and you are good to go. (and maybe a bit of underwear)

That magic band is so magical you just wave it around and they will magically put drink after drink in your hand!

In the YC laundry room right now. Not impressed with having only 2 washing machines (yet 6 dryers). :(

Hello all!
We are back and had a mostly wonderful time!
I will get to thoughts on our resorts, and the trip once school is up and running and I can breathe, but I wanted to ask a quick question.

This was the first trip where we used our MBs for charging. When you get your CC statements....are your purchases itemized or lumped? For example, I just looked at my Discover statement and I see pending transactions from sources such as "Beach Club Front Desk," or "XCO Settlement-WDW" and they are for large, multiple hundred amounts. I'm assuming these are the lump sums of our MB purchases?

Anyone have any information on or experience with this?

I have recent experience! We charged almost all of our shopping, food and drink for last week's trip. The credit card was charged one lump sum. The individual transactions were itemized on our guest invoice that we received in our BC room the day we checked out.

Your credit card statement will show one lump number. We had our credit card charged twice, once when we checked in, since we hadn't paid the room balance yet. And a second time on check out day, since we hadn't exceeded the limit.

We received an email from Disney with the subject line: Your Disney Resort Hotel Receipt, giving us the detail of the charges, the day after check out. The information included date of charge, location (like Beaches and Cream or Territory Lounge), a simple description, like merchandise or food, and the amount of the charge. If you don't receive an email then you can contact the accounting department and they will send one to you. :)

Leave all your troubles behind and have a fantastic trip!!!

I just posted pics of the temporary BC CL lounge on the CL thread. Not sure if anyone has posted those yet. We just got back last night.

Thank you so much! I posted a couple from a very quick tour I was given, but that is all we have seen so far. Going to check out your pictures now!

:thumbsup2

Enjoy and safe travels!

That is not ok! It seems like the laundry rooms always have an issue with broken down machines. At one point someone was told it was because guests were using the wrong detergent but it seems like this is a chronic problem at the resort.

Operation decorate is complete.

Looks great!

What are you celebrating?

Hi everyone,

Next year will be our first stay at Beach Club. We are happily already on the BOG list :)

Our trip is to celebrate my DH's 50th Birthday. We are looking into all different things for this trip. One being, going to MK, HS or AK during the day and Epcot every night or almost every night because we plan on going to MNSSHP too. With F&W going on during this time, would you get the dining plan? We usually get the regular plan. We did the QS plan once and missed our sit downs. Would you stay club level? And do the dining plan?

Thanks,
Jacqui

I would skip the dining plan- that will allow you to order what you want, where you want it and when you want it.

Especially if you go with club level.

We used to use the dining plan but on our last trip we priced it out beforehand and even ordering whatever we wanted and were eligible for on the DP, we ended up saving money paying OOP. And there were some meals that we split, or ordered an appetizer instead of entrée if we felt like it or *gasp* skipped dessert, so we saved even more!

:thumbsup2

Thank you! We have two must do's, Via Napoli and dinner at 'Ohana's. Slowly we are trying to figure out what will work out best for this trip. We have until April before we need to make our ADR's, so we have time but we want to start thinking things through now.

Sometimes we like to do CL and sometimes we do the DP. We would never do both - for us it's just too much. We love staying CL but we are doing the DP this time because of Free Dining and because we have family going and we wanted to do our meals together. I like CL because we can go at our own pace and not be tied down to lots of reservations.

If u were a fan of ohanas in the past, be aware it has changed drastically. It WAS my daughter's and granddaughter's favorite restaurant and we ate there this April 2014. It was as usual wonderful! Then we were there in July. My granddaughter normally eats her weight in the noodles. She spit out the first mouthful. We tasted them ... They changed the recipe and the waiter confirmed. Instead of the wonderful salad they serve lettuce wrap. The chicken skewers are gone. The server told us people are livid and cancellations are happening like crazy. So our normal January dinner there will not happen! :(

I don't think Free Dining will be available for us based on past year discounts. We will be there 10/9-17, 2015. So I'm not counting on that discount but would be ecstatic if it did happen. We don't know if anyone is definitely going with us this trip or not, or we'd probably just go with the dining plan and be done with all our questions.

'Ohanas is good to go for us, we were there in June and were happy. I think they were still serving the salad then but we had the lettuce wraps and enjoyed them. I know we didn't have the chicken skewers. My DH will eat almost anything and this is his birthday request. I think I'll have to roll him out of there! LOL

As for CL, do you/can you make meals out of what they offer? We have never stayed CL and are clueless. I don't want to look like a bunch of slobs but if it's OK then why not.

Thanks so much for your help!!

We are back home from our wonderful stay at the BC. Our room at the BCV was on the 2nd floor facing the street, didn't get any of our room requests but did have a corner studio with a huge balcony. The weather was hot, hot, hot but really didn't rain much. Only used our poncho's twice on our 8 day stay. The storm on Saturday night got us as we were walking into MK and later saw on the news that a car was hit by lighting in the Epcot parking lot. The staff as always were excellent, they were very helpful when DH had to leave early because of his father went into the hospital. All is well now and I still don't get why my DB-inlaw couldn't handle the situation, but sometimes that's family for ya. The kids loved Stormalong Bay, we were there everyday and had no problem finding a spot. Enjoyed a few Sunken Treasures, but really loved the Gray Goose Slushes from Epcot. Did noticed one night that there was no one at the entrance at the pool checking, so I asked about the next day and was told there was a scheduling conflict and no one was scheduled for the night this week. You really have a great view from the pool of the Frozen fireworks at HS.

Our only problem with this trip and it's not BC or disney related it was taking my DD friend with us. She ate like a bird, which caused or DD to do the same (and this isn't the case at home), after the first 2 days of paying adult prices for them, I cancelled all our ADR's and just ate quick services. We did enjoy Teppan Edo and took home a nice size doggie bag. Park wise she wasn't happy unless we/she went on Space/Rockin Rollercoaster or Everest. Even in the pool I noticed she would go off on her own leaving my DD by herself. Now at home these two are inseparable, they've been BFF's since kindergarden, I just don't get it. I'm not even going to get into the lack of respect towards myself and DH or what a slob she is and again she's not like this at home. She comes from a big family, 6 kids and no way could they afford to go to Disney. So lesson learned, we tried to be nice and ended up getting burnt in the end.

Ok venting over and still with all this drama overall we had a really good time. I got my DD turned onto Splash and Thunder Mtn (it was closed last time) and we rode those several times this trip. We did a couple of rides I haven't done in years like HM, Maelstrom, Living with the Land and explored alot more at each country in Epcot. On a positive note, we are already talking about going back. But next time just the 3 of us and we're thinking about doing 2 days at Sea World then 12 days at either BCV or trying YC. DH will only stay here, I mentioned maybe a split with BWI and right away he says NO!! We've done 10 days, now 8 days, he wants 2 weeks, so I'll take it and stay were ever he wants.

As always you guys are the best and I appreciate all the help you given me planning this trip. I'll go back to lurking and dreaming of our next trip back.

Operation decorate is complete.

Happy Birthday Princess P !!!!!

I have had the privilege to meet this delightful young lady and her wonderful family. I wish you all the best on this special day!!!

I am thinking of eating at the Crew Cup Lounge after our La Nouba show when we get back to the resort with ds next week.

Do they have an actual server come up to a table or do you order at the bar etc., seat yourself etc?

I am sorry to say that with the many times I have passed the place I have never paid that much attention etc. I just always think it looks kind of dark in there etc.

TIA for any info.

They had a server until about 11 I think the night we were there. We sat at the bar, but I remember someone coming up and saying they were leaving about then.
