Hello everyone! We just switched our reservation over to the Yacht Club. We have only visited the resort in the past for dinner. I have a few questions....are there any garden view rooms that are close to the lobby? Would this section also be close to Storm Along Bay? (I can't really tell by looking at the resort map). Are there many king size beds at this resort? Lastly, is the self parking far?

Welcome Three cats. I can't answer most of your question but others that know the answers will be on later. What I can do is add your dates to the BOG list on page 1 if you like. Dee (the keeper of our thread) is away right now but she will update when she returns.

My best advice is dig in on the first few pages of this thread and absorb! Again Welcome!

29 days to go!!!!! Got our Magical Express packet yesterday and the email today that our magic bands have been shipped. They are coming via regular mail (for some reason I thought they came UPS), anyway does anyone know about how long they will take? For Mother's Day I mailed a family member a small package and it took 5 days to go from central NJ to south NJ. I can see my bands becoming the next flat Stanley and traveling all over before they reach their final destination.

Same exact situation with us! 29 days and the Magic Band email hit my inbox today!

If I remember correctly they come pretty quickly.

We are here. Lily is napping after a few hours in the pool. We got a ready room on the floor and in the building we requested. The view is the marina and monorail. Absolutely spotless. We were given club level access for some reason and are being treated like royalty. Jeanne said Lily asked her if they could live in the "white castle" forever. Dinner at Narcoosi's tonight.

So thrilled that the person who spreads so much pixie dust to all of us got some in return!! Now that is karma!!

So happy for all of you! Enjoy every second in your "white castle"!!!

I received an email on Thursday and they were delivered yesterday (Monday )

Hi everyone! We are just about 30 days away from our trip to Disney and our stay at BC!! I'm so excited about everything from the smell I'm hearing about, to the beautiful rooms, to the amazing pool, just everything!! All of the info here is very helpful and you guys are funny too!

We are staying from 8/25-8/30 and have a late flight out of MCO at 9:30pm. We will be using the ME to get to the airport and my packet says be prepared to get picked up approx. 3 hours before the flight but how do we get an official time? Will we get that at check out? We would possibly like to go to a park that day since we will have time but I'm just trying to plan how much time we will have. Thanks so much!! This is our first time staying on site so the bussing is brand new for us!!

The notice left under your door the night before departure will state your exact departure time on ME, which is always a minimum of 3 hours, prior to your flight's scheduled departure. As mentioned, if you are checking in for your flight, picking up your boarding passes, and checking bag(s) for your flight, arrive no later than about 12:50 p.m. at the resort's airline check-in desk, which is located in front of the resort, just to the right of the front entry, as walking out. This is a great service. Make sure you bring along your official I.D.s, as well as the departure letter left at your room. If you will be changing clothes or freshening up, after a day at the parks, remember to place your change of clothes (or anything else you'll need for your trip home) in a carry-on, which can be checked with bag services or with a cast member valet at the podium in front of the resort. Just like checking your bags at airport curbside, it's appropriate to tip the person checking you in and accepting your checked bags at the outdoor podium.

The ME can arrive as early as ten minutes, prior to your scheduled departure, so start keeping an eye out earlier than the departure time listed; they depart the resort very promptly. The ME driver will collect your departure notice, when you board his/her bus, so be sure to have it ready when you board.

We have found the ME to be one of those perks that makes it worth the extra cost to stay at a Disney resort.

When you arrive at the airport, you will be dropped either at Terminal A or B; the driver usually makes an announcement, by airline. You may think that you arrive really early for your flight, but the time will give you a chance to grab something to eat and clear security, then proceed to your departure gate, and find a place at the gate to relax, prior to your flight.


Have a great time. You will enjoy staying at the BC. Oh, and if you do leave carry-on bags with the resort, during the day, don't forget to pick them up, before you board the ME. :)

I originally booked the All-Stars and found a good deal for the YC and switched.
Its a surprise for the kids. They think we're still staying at the All-star.

We received our Magic Bands yesterday.
Still waiting for our ME packet.
 
I was just on WDW website to look at rates as I always enjoy this and notcied that both the BC and the YC are not available for my upcoming trip (6-14 aug). I already have a reservation but does this meant those resorts will be crazy busy?
 
So excited we just booked a trip to the YC as a birthday surprise for my son :-) our dates are Aug 17th - 21st.

We booked a garden view room do we need to request a full balcony or do all the garden view rooms at the YC have them? Thank you!!!

All rooms at YC offer full balcony, unlike BC, where full balcony must be requested.

Your son will be so excited with his birthday surprise.

I am also wondering if the garden view rooms on the first floor have easy access to SAB. I have only stayed on the BC side.
 
Got our magic bands yesterday!

We have received 2 of our 4 (!) sets so far. Three are for our 3 different resorts, and 1 is for being AP holders. Geez! I hope we can keep them all straight, and that they can be all linked correctly. I'm tempted to just bring one and keep it easier!
As for our ME, I need to call because the ones that came for my sister and her BF have my name and DP's name on it. I'm guessing that will be a problem, so they're probably going to need to reprint and resend those luggage tags.

Not necessarily. It means that the resort(s) are booked for the window you're searching. If you try for example one night, or 2 nights, you may find plenty of availability. That said, there are some pretty terrific rates available this August at BC and YC, so they may be running at a higher occupancy than normal.

Any update on the CL floor refurb?

My understanding is that it will be getting underway in September. Dee keeps any updated information right on the first page of this thread pretty close to the top.
 
Scott - I was wondering the same thing about the magic bands.

We got our first set yesterday for the first four days at YC. Got an email that the next set shipped today - for seven days at GF. Hope the tickets, FP+ and ADRs are all linked correctly! I was hoping that we could just use one set. I'm marking the boxes and already told everyone not to TOUCH those bands until we get to Disney!

Can't wait for our Dis Meet!
 
Looking at the map of the Beach Club and the Villas specifically, it doesn't look like there are any rooms that have a better view than another. What are the main factors to consider if staying in a one-bedroom villa as far as room requests go?

We just got back from a week at the YC. It was a great week for us. The kids were beyond well behaved which really added to the wonderful time. We had a GV room over looking the small pool. I will say that we absolutly loved the YC and will stay there again. Although, I am happy to see it is getting updated soon. The room and the hallways showed wear and tear, but it was not a deal breaker and it wasnt enough to even mention. Everyone there was so nice. My son wore his pirate bandana and his eye patch every day and my daughter wore her pirate Mickey ears every day, the staff got such a kick out of them and called them by name by our last day.

The first 2 days it rained with bad storms a lot. We got a lot of use out of the ponchos. The lighting pretty much closed all outside rides for hours both days, but we made the best of it.
We went to Blizzard Beach for the first time in years, (DH and I have been, kids hadnt been) It was really hot that day and the park was packed. I had little hopes of it being a good day, but it turned out to be great. My kids loved it and so did we.

Our Magic Bands worked without a hitch and really loved using them. FP+ was fine. We planned for AM rides and booked more throughout the day. I regret only planning 7D Mine train once because it was my 6yo son's fav. We planned on just waiting in line on Sunday, but it was down pretty much all day.
All in all it was great. We did not do the dining plan and didnt miss it. We were able to get Res at a bunch of places on the fly and expected if we didnt then we would do QS for dinner. I did book a few dinners and planned them around late Magic Hours which changed a few weeks bf we left so it was a bit of a pain to re-do everything to match up again.
We do think when we go again we will stay longer than 6 nights. There is just so much to do and we really loved SAB. I felt a bit rushed.
