If we are on the disney dining plan would club level be over kill? Was thinking of upgrading..

We stayed CL at the end of June and also on the dining plan. Hubby and I both agreed we would rather skip the dining plan in the future and stay CL. We loved our room, the staff, and the food offerings in the CL lounge. But it was definitely a lot of food. On checkout day we had the majority of our snack credits leftover and a counter service meal for everyone.

I do not think there are any first floor standard view rooms at the BC because a standard view room is a view of a parking lot or roof. For the life of me, I can't imagine any that fits that. At the YC, there might be one or two on the first floor since the parking lot is closer to some of those rooms.

Keep in mind that a garden view room is only about $10 more per night.

Yes, I believe they do have Standard View ground floor rooms with patios. The view might not be good, and you may be close to a staff area where vehicle noise might be bothersome.

:welcome: to the thread and posting on the DIS!

I hope you are able to book a trip to the resort next year.

:goodvibes

As Teena indicated below, there may not be any first floor standard rooms (I have wondered this myself), and if there are, the number is limited. If you are able to book GV, then that is a good, not too expensive solution. If you are not able to book anything but standard view with the discount, then my suggestion is to do that, and add the request to your reservation anyway even if it is not a possible option. Perhaps if there is a first floor room available during your trip you will receive some pixie dust- don't know, but worth a shot.

Thank you all! I was leaning toward GV room with 1st floor patio request... but cost saving Hubby always prefers booking standard view rooms (since we are never in the room that much) but we are strongly considering a YC or BC stay for our next WDW trip. Thanks again and I will pop on again if I have any more questions.... until then I will enjoy reading :)

I was on touring plans.com yesterday checking the room view feature for the YC... it is showing 64 standard view rooms queen beds - 0 first floor, 0 second floor, 1 on the 3rd floor... the remainder on 4th & 5th floors (so I'm guessing the 64 includes standard view club level as well).

BC is showing 63 standard view queen beds & 38 standard view queens/CL -- none on the first floor, but on each of the other floors including 2nd & 3rd.

I enjoyed seeing your pictures of the BC quiet pool. We spent a lot of time there last March. It never had more than four people in it, and two of them were us. ;)

We plan to spend a lot of time at the YC quiet pool in September. We haven't stayed at the YC in about 17 years but I seem to remember that the quiet pool is really nice there. Do you have any more pictures of it?
Sorry, I'm just getting back on the board as it was a very busy weekend for us. I was able to find just 2 more photos, so here you go...

BTW: You can thank me later for posting that picture! ;)

That would be MUCH MUCH later..., thank you.

Question for recent (May and June) guests- Did you receive an email survey from Disney after your trip? If you did NOT can you post a quick "No survey received" here.
No survey received. It was strange because with doing the split stay, we received one for AoA, but I don't think BC had my email address. I don't know why not. I did everything the same, but even on checkout we were called to the front desk to receive our list of charges. :confused3

Here now and we have a room that is above the lobby and we watched them from our balcony . It I was nice

Thank you!! I love the view from those rooms. :).
Hope you are having a GREAT time!!!

Dee - have a fabulous trip!

Can't wait to hear all about it.

Nettie - your magical trip is getting close! Please post lots of pictures!

I'm so excited! Only 2 weeks to go until I'm back at WDW! :cool1: I just booked the Frozen Prem. package. :cheer2: I was looking for something special to do for this summer trip as I always want to try something new, although being there in April we hadn't gotten to do the seven dwarfs mine yet and that was going to be new but this is even better.

Did anyone book the AP rate with free memory maker? Did it just get added to MDE when you checked in? I have to remember to make sure it's in there when I arrive at Disney.

I love hearing everyone's experiences at the resort. It's so great to come to this thread and get all the new info, relive all the excitement, and of course, I love reading Ninjamom's posts. Too funny!

Couchy hope you join us at the pool today. We are on the beach club side in front of volleyball net. Can't miss us, we have the plastic wine and champagne glasses that we keep getting asked about!

we have been here since 6/28. Pool has closed at 11 pm very night.
Were you at the pool on 6/28 in the evening? If so, I was there!

It is extremely important to provide feedback to Disney about what you loved about your trip and what you didn't. These surveys are taken very seriously by management at the theme parks and resorts.

If a CM was particularly helpful or friendly during your trip, please take the time to mention them specifically by name on the survey. It really matters!

Thank you!!!

:thumbsup2
Okay, so I answered your question earlier. Then, I just checked my email, and lo and behold, there is a survey for the Beach Club that arrived at 10:14 am today. I will be filling it out!

Natebenma- we will be there 8/24-9/1. Soooooo excited!

Time to make room requests. We have garden view so asking for full balcony and near lobby. Does that sound acceptable?

So very discouraged. Worked on a live report for 40 mins and got interrupted. Now it is gone!!'m. Will try again in a little while

We were. We ended up spending early morning on arrival day at MGM, no fast passes, went over to Epcot to ride Soarin with a fast pass then back to the pool. I seem to remember our DD driving us to pick up groceries and we had 6:30 ressies at B&C but otherwise we were definitely at the pool?

I looked and found plastic wine glasses but sadly they were empty and even sadder that no one was sipping out if them

Here is a quick report so far

We arrived at the BC around 10 am on the Fourth! We were magically surprised when we were given a 5 th floor room number and our room was ready . We were taken upstairs where we taken to our room that is over the balcony area. We have a full balcony with this view

We spent a few awesome hours at SAB and watched the noon World Cup game at Hurricane Hannah's .

We then went to DHS to ride TSM and hustled over to watch Brazil and Colombia at ESPN and what atmosphere there was in that place. We sat at the bar next to a woman from Brazil who moved to the US 10 years ago. Fun times

When we went to the lounge at 6 I saw a past student who I coached soccer for 6 years and who recently attended her wedding! What are the chances. We talked for an hour and a half over some appetizers and a glass of wine. We made lunch plans for Sunday at Via ! Small world

That's all for now but a couple things

CL staff have been absolutely amazing and awesome . So friendly and so efficient . No complaints and we are grateful for the pixie dust.

I will keep you coming back for another addition as Olaf will make an appearance

DHS is crazy right now with Frozen summer! More on that later . It's DH 's b day so must pay attention to him !

I have a question for our upcoming stay at the YC August 27-31...I've seen conflicting information.

If we place an order for water and snacks to be sent via Amazon Pantry and have it shipped ahead of our stay, will we have to go pick it up somewhere (business center, like at the Contemporary???) or will they deliver it to our room like a piece of luggage once we arrive? If we have to pick it up, will they charge a fee and how far will we have to lug it back?
