So, do you bring your own? :thumbsup2

Sorry been at the beach for a few days and off the boards. Yep. We bring our own and usually a couple of others for friends we may meet at the pool : ) We arrive early on the 28th. Hopefully we will overlap. I have a 16 year old daughter looking to make friends.

Cathy, u have a beautiful family!!!!

And next time you do laundry, just bring a flask with you!! Wouldn't that make you the talk of the BC laundry room :rolleyes1

We did her Senior pictures there as well and Daniel was terrific!!! A wonderful trip, I don't think I want to wait a year between visits!

Question about the senior pictures. Did you do them on the beach or where? Did you book your appt ahead of time. We were thinking about doing our DD's pictures there as well and were curious.

Hello all,

We are very excited to be heading to the YC on 6/22. We get there late afternoon and were thinking that a light supper at the Crew's Cup might be nice. Does anyone know their hours and when they begin serving food?

Thanks,

Toni

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:cool1:

Sure, my trip is April 29th 2015 for 3 nights. Will be a split stay, but very excited to be staying at a deluxe resort after normally staying only at moderates. Haven't picked out the other few days of the split stay will decide soon.

Thanks!

I'll add you to the list for next year.

:woohoo:

We will be staying Standard as that is what our Magical deal is for in August. This is our first time at BC, does anyone have any recommendations for either rooms or phrasing of requests that either may get us a glimpse at Epcot or a partial view of something other than a parking lot or roof? Don't get me wrong we will be happy with whatever we get and I know I can't expect a lot with Standard, but didn't know if there were some better room areas in this category compared to others. We could go either way on balcony. Thanks!

Maybe request "Upper floor please, facing EPCOT" We had a standard view with a tree that blocked out the parking lot, and we could see BCV rooms on our right. We could also see a few of the Illuminations fireworks and a lot of the MK (Nightastic) fireworks from our balcony.

:goodvibes

Have I already advised you to look at the Beach Club Room Views thread in the Resort Photo Subforum?

Live at Beach Club! Had the honor of meeting Teena today!! Teena I cannot thank you enough for having the sunburn cream sent up! We were really in some pain and it helped so much! We stopped to say thank you just now before heading out to Hollywood but you were helping other guests. Beach Club is so lucky to have you! Thank you again and hope you, your daughter, and Princess Lily have a fantastic time at Typhoon in August! :)

Ooh!! And I managed to have a couple sunken treasures at hurricane Hannah's today. YUMMMM!!

Sorry! Wanted to add one more thing: My husband and I had our anniversary dinner at Shula's over at Dolphin last night. It was absolutely fantastic and I cannot say enough about the food, service, and ambiance. It was such an easy walk from BC. If anyone is looking for a nice place for dinner, put this on the list.

Great updates! So glad to hear you are having a great time.

:thumbsup2

Just checking in to let everyone know how we are enjoying our stay. To be honest, I think I made a big mistake by booking the YC...we'll never want to go back to a value ever. :rotfl:
Couldn't be more pleased with the resort, the staff, the pool, the food. Everything has exceeded our expectations. There was a minor hiccup upon check in with our room, but Brittani in the Regatta club went out of her way to fix it for us. We are in a room that shares the super large balcony overlooking the front entrance. I thought we may not enjoy the shared balcony, but it's really been a non issue.
You guys weren't exaggerating about the intoxicating smell of the lobby, it's so delightful. It's quite possible we've found our Disney home.
Thank you all for the wonderful information and advice, we are so glad we gave it a try! :worship: :worship:

I'm happy to hear you are having a great time! So glad to hear we have another fan.

:)

Well, I am off to WDW tomorrow...but we won't be at YC/BC.

We will be at All Star Music with a High School marching band! If you are in the MK for the 3:00 parade on Saturday the 14th, you might see my "kids" as they march ahead of the parade!

In July, DH and I are headed to YC for a week to recover from our band trip. :cool1:

Have a fantastic time. My group (not me) is there now too- All Star Movies. Worked my butt off the past couple of weeks logging everyone in, linking their tickets and making FP reservations. Waiting to hear that everything works out with the FP for my friends- first one is NOW, EE 11:35 to 12:35

:hyper:

Hi everyone!

Heading out to BC on 6/11, staying there for a week. It's my ds's first time there and we're doing it as an early 1st birthday celebration (that, and no more school for my other ds and dd). We usually stay at POR, but decided to change it up this time around. We can't wait - my older ds loves swimming so I'm sure he's going to have a great time at SAB.

A couple quick questions:

- How easy is it to maneuver a single or double stroller around BC and SAB? DS isn't walking yet, but he's getting heavy to carry around.

- Is it possible to get specific items from the Marketplace? For example, my kids would be happy with just bacon and a biscuit, but it looks like they're only part of a meal including eggs and hash browns.

Thanks!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:cool1:

As posted above, BC will be no problem with the stroller, getting from one section to the next at SAB will be tougher. You will be ok if you pick a spot and stay there, like the shallow kids area. Or the activities pool/outlet to the slide.

Mmmm... Bacon!

I've been playing nice at my new hobby and just had to share
(That and I'm trying to work the photobucket app!)

Cute!

I'm hoping someone might know the answer to this BC question. We are a party of 2 in a BC garden room. If we do not get a daybed or couch, is there anything else to sit on in the rooms besides the bed, desk chairs or patio chairs?

OOPS! Missed you in the last set of replies.

:welcome:

When is your trip?

:woohoo:

I think the layouts and even furniture in the rooms can be different. Here is the room we had in 2010. No daybed, but we did have a chair.

IMG_0148.jpg

I'll go back and look at the pictures of the room we had in 2009- no daybed or couch, can't remember if there was a chair.

ETA- same chair

All of my pictures of that room are crappy- I'll post the least crappiest

Can you update the guest list to reflect that we are checking in on the 29th now? I couldn't help but add a day. I always do, it's like tradition. LOL

Live update: Thanks for the kind words! You all are too sweet!

I was scrolling thru my pics and laughed at this one. Megan commented it looks like Walt and I are taking a selfie with Mickey Mouse!

And this is what I'm enjoying right now.

Sandy, it's all good here, not like other places on the Dis. You are very welcome to hang out with us and we look forward to your contributions.

Hanging on some of the other areas on the Dis is like being a puppy and you are constantly on the look out for a rolled up newspaper to come along and smack you on the nose for no apparent reason. It's not like that here. We are all friendly and we like to help each other as much as possible, in as many ways as possible.

So relax, get out the blender and whip up a Sunken Treasure:

Sunken Treasure- recipe by medicgirl177
1 1/2 shots Midori
1 shot Malibu Coconut Rum
1 shot orange juice
1 shot pineapple juice
Sprite or 7-Up to fizzy taste
1 shot Blue Curaçao
Over ice
Dress with Pineapple slice, cherry, or umbrella

And join us for some Dis Boards Beach Club/Yacht Club/ Beach Club Villas fun!

Trust me, I'm an old timer here and the DIS bullies don't scare me.I also respect the rules. I usually hang out in our favorite resort thread, Boardwalk, but for our next visit, I decided to cross Crescent Lake and stay at the BCV so we can enjoy Stormalong Bay for a change.

Btw, Y&B Club was our second stay ever, in 1993, when they were still building the Boardwalk. We did a split stay, two days at the Yacht Club and six at the Beach Club. This was back when Ariel's was still there. I think if they went DVC first, we would never have discovered the Boardwalk ;-)

Just suppose that maybe someone doesn't like Midori or the taste of melon...just suppose.

Is there a recommended 2nd choice for an unofficial adult beverage at YC/BC?

Here are some of the "official" bevvies:

The Poolside Plunge maybe?

I hear good things about the Pina Colava...

:drinking1

Thanks Dee! I will have to perform an in-depth analysis ;) when we finally get there next year. Mmmmm.....mango!

The Sunken Treasure isn't too melon-y tasting. But if you really don't think you'll like it, try to Piña CooLava. It's my second favorite drink. I should have ordered that instead of the Black cherry Lemonade I ordered. It tasted like cough syrup. I think I need to go down to the lounge and get a beer to wash the flavor down.

Vodka is definitely needed in the lounge. Mix some of that with the delicious Stormalong Bay Breeze drink they have in there now next to the iced tea and lemonade and it would be the new Sunken Treasure! YUMMY!!! The SAB Breeze is a mix of sprite and something else....cranberry juice maybe?

Off to get that beer.......

Stormalong Bay Breeze- Sprite, Cranberry and Pineapple Juice, I believe.

BYOV- I bet vodka (or rum) would be really good with this.

The unofficial drink of the Yacht & Beach Club laundry room?
