Hi everyone!

Just checking in! It has been so busy with summer travel sports kicking in and school ending. Very excited about everyone's upcoming trips and can't wait to read back and catch up.

I am so excited to report that I just booked my room for the princess half next February. We ended up going with the 2 bedroom suite over at BWI. The YC one wasn't big enough and I was too nervous about BC renovations in Feb.

Even though I am across the lake for this trip I will still be over there visiting my favorite Teena! :-)

Can't wait to catch up!

Are there any rumors of SAB closing any time soon? I feel like pools are getting redone a lot this fall!

I know that Beaches & Cream had a walk-up counter last July when were there. Can anyone tell me if they still have it and can we order hamburgers to go or is it only for ice cream, etc?

Our flight lands in MCO at 11:15 AM and we wanted to grab a quick lunch before heading to the park. I did get an ADR for 2:30 but since there are 5 of us I had to break us up into to parties.

I've never eaten at the Marketplace. Guess that could be an option too.

Hello everybody,

Sooooo happy cause we decided that we'll come back to BC in May 2015!!!
:banana::banana::banana:

This time we'll do CL (first time), I'm so excited.
Everybody around me is telling me I'm crazy to plan my holidays 1 year in advance, but I know that on this forum you'll understand me ;-)

Could you please add me to the Be Our Guest list?

Thanks a lot :-)

Is the Solarium a restaurant or a place? How would I plan to eat breakfast or dinner there?

The Solarium is a lovely room located just around the corner from the BC Marketplace. If you go to the 1st page of this thread & scroll down to post 6, there are some pics there you can see.

Not a restaurant- no food sales, but it is close to the Marketplace which doesn't have a ton of seating so people can bring their morning coffee and pastry there to eat in cushy comfort.

Solarium

Just around the corner from the Marketplace is a great place to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning, to sip a refreshing beverage after a busy day at a theme park or to visit with friends, old or new. The Solarium has hosted a lively World Cup soccer viewing as well as the first annual Yacht & Beach Club DIS meet.

I have NOT heard any rumors about upcoming pool construction at SAB.

Thank you for the information. Did I understand an early post correctly, the Solarium is near, or in view, of the boarding area for park busses?

You can see the Magical Express boarding area, the taxis and the cars arriving in the driveway of the BC, but you can't see the park buses from the Solarium. In fact, you can't see the park buses until you walk to the bus loading area.

Hi everyone,

I asked the yacht and beach club IPO about renovations recently and this is the e-mail that I received.

Good Morning Gray Crew,

We do know that renovation will be starting late summer, the exact dates are not posted as of yet. The lounge is to start sometime in the middle of July but again no definite date. Sorry! Wish we could give you a more definite answer.

I'm considering YC for the villains event. And by considering I mean I put a deposit down lol. Lagoon view :)

Since it might be just the weekend we are still wavering between YC & budget-friendly CSR depending on our intended trip style. CSR would add a night and be more park oriented. YC would be more leisurely making sure we enjoy the balcony (never had a balcony at WDW before) and a lot of time at SAB when we're not at the event.

I'm curious if anyone finds SAB to be like bath water in August?

I know the pool is heated but when it's hot out we like a refreshing dip that is cooling.

Anyone have any opinions?

We've been there (SAB) in August and it's way too warm for my liking. I like to get in the water to cool off. However, it's still better than being outside in the heat and humidity but it's definitely IMO not a refreshing dip.

Wow! That is the earliest I have heard mentioned for the lounge renovation. Thanks for sharing that info. I'm anxious to hear some official and definitive pronouncements!

:)

Live report:

Phew!!!! I'm exhausted! After having breakfast in the CL lounge, we headed to Epcot today. We were able to get lots of rides in....TT single rider 3X, M:S twice, SE, Soarin', Nemo, Sum of All Thrills and Living With the Land. Lunch was Sunshine Seasons and dinner at Yorkshire County Fish Shop. Everything was delicious!

The cross are low. Really low compared to what we are used to in mid-July. At one point in the early afternoon standby for Soarin was 45 minutes!!! Unbelievable!

I'm back at BC for the night with our DD11. She fell asleep while we were taking a quick break before heading over to DHS. DH, DD14 and DS 13 headed over there a half an hour ago. The desserts in the lounge are yummy....lemon bar, chocolate cake and rice Krispy treats. :) I'm waiting to watch Wishes from our room. We have a nice view of Spaceship Earth too!

We are going to MK tomorrow after spending some time at SAB.
