Hi gang! Just wanted to share..... I just signed up for the Princess Half Marathon in February.
My first race over a 5k ever......Excited to be heading back to WDW!![]()
Can anyone confirm the reports that Cape May really isn't offering crab legs anymore? Someone had told me that today so I decided to search the boards and sure enough I saw a thread about it. We have a reservation there in 4 weeks and I definitely do not want to keep it if they have been removed from the buffet menu. TIA!
Teena told me of the no crab legs rumor at cape May and asked me to walk over and confirm . I spoke to Tracey a manager and she laughed at the rumor and said it is false.
So to confirm : there are crab legs and there will be crab legs at cape may
I, Buzzy the fly, can personally confirm that I have seen many legless crabs hobbling around the resort. This sight only confirms that crab legs are still on the buffet at Cape May Cafe. It is simply ridiculous what some people will post on the Internet!
Signed, your pal Buzzy the Fly, your Beach Club Resort reporter and certified busybody.
NM, Happy Belated Birthday to you! Hope Buzzy, Mr Ninja Mom (aka Ninja Dad) and Ninja Boys treated you like the Princess you are!
Dee, I just checked my emails for a survey from my June trip. I knew I had gotten one but put off answering it. To my surprise it was only for PhotoPass! Hmmmm. Not for POR, BC or AoA. Bizarre!!!!
I think someone was inadvertently left off the synchronized dance team.....Teena! Catch her after one of her cruises where I'm sure she (and Bob) are dancing on the lido deck all day long! I'm sure she has moves like Jagger!

Is this resort the cheapest of all the deluxe resorts?

I guess we are one step closer to our first stay at YC from 8/21/2104 - 8/31/2014 (with a one night stay upon arrival on 8/20 at Pop). Final payment has been made.

Checking in next Friday for 2 nights YC CL!!! Can't wait for a relaxing weekend at the pool!! Pixie dust for good weather!!!
Hello! For anyone who may have stayed in a BCV studio, I have a quick question regarding the coffee maker. My understanding is that the machine is a 4-cup drip style?
I have a bunch of single-serving coffee pods (leftover from our trip to CBR when we had the Cuisinart machine) and was thinking about using 2 pods per pot rather than bringing a pound of ground coffee and filters in our luggage.
DH & I would be staying on points so we would not be getting daily replenishments of the in-room coffee packets.
Thank you for your help!
Having stayed at all three (BC, WL, and AKL), I have to say that it depends. In my experience, BC rooms are larger and the beds are more comfy. There is also a graciousness to the lobby. Here's an example: walking in from the rain at BC, we found baskets of towels in the entry way for us to use on our wet selves. Lovely. There are real towels in the restrooms off the lobby. I think YC has cold water available with little plastic cups in their lobby. Not sure about BC. These little touches remind me of other really nice hotels like Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC.
By contrast, AKL and WL are all about the theme. The rooms are fine just slightly smaller than BC. BUT, they have bunk beds, which our DDs really like. The lobbies are magnificent. The WL has the boat to MK and the lakefront location. AKL transports you to Africa. An experience in itself. And, the dining at AKL is, IMHO, the best on property besides maybe GF.
I don't know if I've helped you at all. These are my three fave resorts. We've stayed at WL twice, AKL twice and are coming to BC for the second time in late Sept., having originally booked WL. The pool debacle changed our plans for us. I would stay at any of them again in a heartbeat. If you love EPCOT, BC can't be beaten.
No matter which you choose, I think you'd be happy. But, yes, there is a difference. Whether it's worth it or not is a personal choice.

Oh, and Dee, have a fabulous trip! I can't wait to see your pics and hear all about it!

I believe it opens when the main turnstiles open. I think they place a rope across the bridge that leads to France, pushing everyone to the left as they enter.
Have fun!!Well I am officially away from the Y&B until 7/27. Jeanne and Lily arrive this Saturday and it will be a whirlwind of Disney until they leave on 7/30. I actually am working 7/27 and 7/28 while they are here. I thought it was too much to take off three weeks so I opted for just two.
I'll try to keep up on the boards as much as possible but Lily will keep us going nonstop and I won't have computer access while at the Cabins and the GF.
Met some new Dis friends this past two days and had a super time with some long time Dis friends. Had another super dinner at Crews Cup with EasternShoreGal and family and spent lots of time talking with Couchy. What a super family we have all become. Sure missed seeing Dansdad. He had here for so long, I was sure I'd see him again Sunday and Monday. But he'll be back soon!
Hurry up Saturday!!!!!!
Sitting at SAB one more time. More time for thoughts on our trip.
Staff-
What can I say this trip? The staff has been excellent. Of course there was Teena, who greeted us with a hug the second day we were here (that made up for the less than stellar lack of a welcome home upon arrival by the guard).we made plans for dinner, which we did last night. It was nice to talk to her in a non-work setting. What a great evening. Then there was Rocky one of the servers at the pool on Tuesday...we only saw her from afar on Saturday. Another hug by a cast member. Is there any wonder this feels like home? Then on her days off Matt took great care of us as well. This was our first interaction with him but once again a great experience. And we had many of our own snacks and beverages with us at the pool so we didn't utilize the servers a lot but when we did they were great, The pool staff in general was terrific. I did get asked any number of times at the pool by staff about my wine and champagne plastic glasses but once they realized they were plastic, I got a friendly smile and an appreciative thank you for being careful. One exception, who will go unnamed told me 7 different times that I wasn't allowed to have glass in the pool area, three times in one day. After the 5th time I actually said yes, you told me that already 5 times. Can you believe I got the same comment again today and the staff member actually had to touch the glass again!!! Really??? Most of the staff remembers them from the many times we have been here before so this was a little crazy. Housekeeping was fine. We never saw them but never had any issues either. Didn't have to contact a manager but did run into Jeff in the villas yesterday. He asked me about our stay and we chatted for a while. Went for dinner and when we came back later there was a surprise waiting for us. Will try to post a picture later if Couchy is around to show me how.
Great update!10.......more.........days.
TATTLE TAIL!! Sleep with one eye open when your vacation starts because I'm coming for ya!
Laughing?? What is this about laughing? (Why was she laughing?)

I hope it wasn't a customized, competitive pool tube prototype complete with beverage holders. I'm working on that even as we speak but the wine "plass" holder is proving to be an especially difficult attachment to master. There is just no room for it because of all the other stuff like the high def GPS unit and the stereo system that Scott insisted on for all of the tubes. That and the fact that they have to be clear is really putting a damper on the tube aesthetics. I did however put my foot down when he tried to insist on waterproof, WiFi enabled tablets. I could just tell he was not going to be taking this seriously at practice if he had all those distractions at his disposal...

I feel like the choreographer job is calling my name. Though, I'm thinking more "The Beach Club Bathing Beauties" would be a great team name. I'm thinking Buzby Berkley all the way....
I'm thinking of calling Google Maps to take the areal shot of BC/YC while the routine is going on. Clearly it has to start with y'all with hands clasped over your heads, all falling sideways into the pool in rapid succession.
Is this me you're talking about? I admit I have to remind myself to "unplug" from time to time. No worries about the speakers anymore. For our Buzby Berkley-inspired number, I've reworked some wiring on the Epcot loop and now, inexplicably, the BWI's lobby and area music is relaxing guitar music, and the BC?YC is blaring big band music from the 20's, 30's and 40's.
