I lost the end of my ring finger at the age of 11 (sorry I don't remember the date anymore, but it was early in summer vacation) when my brother and I were fighting and I was trying to close myself into my bedroom, he was pulling the door open, and then he let go.
It hurt, and I was bleeding for 2 hours. I bled A LOT. A whole lot. (mom had just left for work, 1980, she worked an hour away and we had to wait for her to get to work, get the message, and drive back to us b/c our neighbor said he didn't have permission to take me to th ER so I sat there turning a towel red while watching The Love Boat and getting paler and paler)
And it HURT. And that was just the end of the finger, not the whole thing.
This dude must have been on heavy narcotics already.
And he would have been standing outside the room, with his hand in the doorway, when his wife moved her foot. He must have been looking away, into the hallway. So he wasn't paying much attention. That must have been a shock!
Not sure how it's the cruise line's fault, though.
Guess he can't sue his wife, eh?
(I wanted to sue my brother for a long, long time)
