For the past 3 years, DH and I have been going to Las Vegas for our Anniversary.

We decided this year not to go, as we are paying off the trip that DS and I are going to take this June (which will be paid off at the end of this month - we were waiting for the fundraising money to be deposited first).

DH has been in the winter doldroms. The sun doesn't shine often in the winter here, and the entire day is just gray, gray, gray.

I realized yesterday that normally at this time we are headed to Las Vegas for a quick Anniversary trip. But we were not going to go this year.

I mentioned it to DH and asked him what a good price would be if we were to throw everything aside and just go. He said $450 - $500 for 2 nights and air.

I tinkered around a bit and found a deal on our most hated airline (we hate cattle call) Southwest for airfare and hotel and transfers (we don't like taxis in Vegas) $375.00. TOTAL.

He said to grab it. At that price, we couldn't pass it up if we wanted to. And we don't gamble a lot, we are more of the explorer type. I love walking around with my camera taking photos of everything. We are selling a few things on ebay to pay for our spending money, and DH has overtime on his paycheck to pay for the air/hotel.

This will be a super budget (as always) trip for us, but a much needed trip for DH and I. Just to get away for a couple of days always brings a spring in our step, and every time our plane lands in Vegas we feel like we are home.

What a great deal!!

I get the same way this time of year so I can relate.

When are you going? Enjoy!!!

We are going at the end of the month.

I am so shocked that it was so cheap. We are not staying at the best hotel (Imperial Palace), but the location is exactly where we wanted to be.

I think we will enjoy ourselves. Just a quick trip in the middle of winter to get out of the gray funk.

:)

Southwest isn't so bad with the early bird check in and you gotta love the free baggage!

And it's not the "cattle call" that it used to be either now with the numbered boarding passes.
