omg I missed the last update so I have so much to CATCH UP ON

it seems like you had a BLAST at Chef Mickey's! Your interactions all sound so great!! I don't think my Chef Mickey's experience was as great as yours, but we did a really early breakfast so I know I was exhausted and I don't eat that much breakfast food. I know I look really happy in all the character photos though haha.

Your new haircut looks super sleek, I like it a lot

I think we're also gonna hit the monorail around the resorts this trip! We have a goal to visit the Poly for the Lapu Lapu at some point and the Dole Whips are back so we should also probably score those. I'm interested to see all the construction myself, even though I had never been to Captain Cooks beforehand and nothing else is done yet.

And I dont understand why ANYONE would cuss CMs (or any employee anywhere) for that kind of thing - like maybe if they didn't realize tip was included so they ALSO tipped separately, I could see getting upset, but at that kind of place it shouldn't be a shock that its included and theres no need to be such a JERK ever

Chef Mickey's is on our ADR list and I am really looking forward to it. It seems similar to Goofy's Kitchen at DL and that was my family's favorite meal of our trip.

Chef Mickey's was so much fun!!! I am not an early morning person so I probably wouldn't have had as much fun then but dinner was a blast.

Chapter 17: The Sweet 16 Commences

This morning we got up very early because we wanted to rope drop Magic Kingdom for Kylie’s birthday! But first (Julie Chen style) we had breakfast in the Pop food court.

Mom decided she couldn’t wait until dinner to give Kylie her birthday present. I’ll let the pictures do the talking first.

Yep, we were doing Keys to the Kingdom on Thursday! Since you have to be 16, it seemed like an appropriate Sweet 16 gift. Kylie was in shock and so happy! My mom made the card and the keys herself.

We all got on the bus to MK and made it to the front for rope drop. A CM was asking trivia questions and telling jokes, and Kylie got all of them right.

I also got to see a FP+ CM I know, Kaela (kaelalala here on the DIS)! She runs an awesome blog on Tumblr called cmkaela that has a ton of information about the College Program. It’s my favorite thing on the internet besides the DISboards. We could only talk for a minute because she had to work the rope drop, but I’d see her again later in the week.

Aunt Patti decided to hang back since she was in her scooter and didn’t want to race the mob. The rest of us decided the only way to start Kylie’s birthday would be with her favorite ride, so we headed to Frontierland first for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad!

After that, Emily, Dad and I walked right on Splash Mountain. I love Splash Mountain SO MUCH oh my gosh. The jumping fountains were working perfectly (I feel like they’re always kind of hit and miss? Maybe that’s just me, I dunno) and I was in my happy place. We didn’t end up getting too wet either, which was a big plus.

While we were in Frontierland, Aunt Patti took some pictures on Main Street and she's the cutest:

We met up with Aunt Patti in the Tangled bathroom area. My mom went ahead to Peter Pan’s Flight to see if there were wheelchair accommodations, and they said to come back in 10 minutes. So we took some pictures in Corona!

Finding Pascals is one of my favorite Disney activities.

“And with every passing hour I’m so glad I left Arendelle!”

This was the point when Aunt Patti crashed into a gate and almost broke the scooter...so my dad helped her park at Peter Pan.

Peter Pan’s Flight was great! Since he is one of Kylie’s favorites, I’m glad we got to do it on her birthday.

Next…it was the moment we’d all been waiting for.

SEVEN DWARFS MINE TRAIN.

I was ecstatic. I’ve been to Disney multiple times while it was being constructed and it built up the anticipation so much.

The CMs inside LOVED our shirts because on the back of each shirt, there was the name of a character from Snow White (Kylie = Snow White, Emily = Happy, Me = Sneezy, Mom = Doc, Dad = Dopey, Uncle Rick = Grumpy, Aunt Patti = Bashful).

The verdict? I liked it a lot! I did think it was a little on the short side, but that scene inside the mine is so unbelievably cool.

And I was very surprised to see this at the end:

I know I am in the minority, but I am still not that impressed with Mine Train. It didn't live up to the hype for me. But that witch picture at the end is terrific!
