Haha I know what you mean!! Cuz I joined during one of the very last days of Beta.. and I had no idea what I was doing. So I don't think I bought much of anything! I think I had a few things here and there.. and I made some trades. GAHH I miss it too.
And I know! I found like "open VMK" and the creator sounded pretty legit about it... but then he got too busy so nothing happened. I haven't seen GPVMK/VMKRevisited I should go find it!
And AWW yes it does! You must have put that in your signature back in the day. I think I found disboards through one of the VMK forums. I honestly don't even remember which though!

Ok so my sister and I have read all of your trip reports, we love them so much!!! We think that you and your friends are like the coolest ever. So when one of my friends returned from a Disney trip he took over Thanksgiving break and I saw a photo of him with Natalie on the monorail and I freaked out!!! For real, it was like a celebrity spotting for me. So, I texted him immediately and asked how he knew her and never told me (we are both HUGE disney fans and that's all we ever talk about). He texted me back and said "that's Alan's sister..." I had no idea go to school with her older brother and I am actually pretty good friends with him, as i matter of fact I was just in a show with him before they left for vacation. I felt like an idiot. but anyways I just thought it was crazy, I already new you lived in NY because of your trip reports, well that and for this trip (the one you are writing about), we were there the same time you were but didn't know it until we saw you on our flight back to NY. I keep trying to compare the days that we were in each park and see if we were ever in the parks at the same time. But usually you where there the day after us (like the day you went to the coral reef) It just blows my mind because I always read your trip reports and never realized this. Sorry for the ramble//please don't think I am a stalker. I just thought it was neat lol. It's a small small world.

If it weren't for TSM fastpasses and cupcakes from Starring Rolls, we'd probably never go to DHS in the morning. Glad you got to try the red velvet cupcake!

I'm so envious that you have close friends who not only "get" your love of Disney, but love it just as much and are able to enjoy it with you. My husband likes the Parks, but not quite on the same level that I do, haha.

I think I remember you saying you've gone to Disneyland - have you ever had an opportunity to head to any Disney parks outside the country or done a Disney cruise?

Aww thanks I love that we all "get it." It's such a rare thing but we really appreciate it. I hope your husband someday gets your your level! But until then, you have all of us here on the dis!
Yes I went to Disneyland when I was 12... but other than that I've only been to Disney World! I've never been on a cruise or to any other park.

FYI.

The hotels only print plastic tickets because their machine also prints room keys which need to be plastic.

The parks only print paper (actually TYVEK) tickets. And that is where they print the APs.

Ahhh that would be why! Thank you haha now I understand.

I've been lurking here for awhile, but I thought it's about time to chime in and say that I'm really enjoying your trip report! I have so many wonderful memories from a trip to WDW that my best friend and I had taken years ago. I hope you will look back on these trips with your friends with lots of smiles like I do! Yeah, I've never understood why Annual Passes are printed on paper. It's just stupid. I'd imagine the Guest Relations CMs have to replace them quite often. Disney should be printing everything on plastic just to make their jobs easier.

Ah, the mad dash to TSM. Such a lovely experience. I'm serious. There's something inherently hilarious about a huge mass of people rushing toward a theme park attraction. It's the best.

OK. You have to tell us about the t-shirts. Where did you get them ?? They are so cute !! Loving your TR as usual !!

We got them at this festival over the summer in a town near ours. It was one of those little stands where they spray paint shirts, so we asked them if they would do a Mickey So they were customized! I think I wrote about it in the "pre-trip report post" if you want to read about it more in depth!

There is nothing that can describe the yummy goodness that exists in Starring Rolls. It's a good thing that I went in there when everything was almost gone, because I could have been VERY distracted.

That cupcake does look scrumptious. I may have to put in on my neverending list.

I KNOW. It's like bakery heaven on earth. I need someone to hold me back when I'm in there!
And YES you absolutely must!! It's so good!

I read the introduction post of your TR... which I really want to finish because you were there when we were!! But anyways.. you said you go to school for theatre. So you go to school with Alan, right? Because if you do... this is the absolute CRAZIEST thing ever... I am going to his school for the second semester of this year. AND I'M GOING FOR THEATRE. Oh. Chapter 23: "I Like the Lion Section Cause They Go ROAR!"
August 21st, 2011

Once we finished our cupcake, Scott met up with us. I think he must have slept in this morning or something. No early extra magic hours for him!

We were ready to start riding the rides! So we looked on mobile magic, and it said that Kali River Rapids was only 20 minutes.

Unfortunately, by the time we made it over there, the wait time shot up to 40 minutes. Ummm no. So we X'ed that idea and got fastpasses.

**Speaking of Mobile Magic.... umm IT'S NOT AVAILABLE ON THE IPHONE!?!?! That is NOT okay. I need mobile magic!! I basically just need the character greeting times. Is there another app for that?

Anyways... While we were by Kali, I dropped my phone on the ground. Then after that it kept acting up all day. I think it was overheated too. I had my little flip phone at that point so it was already in bad shape. Oh well. It ended up being fine by the time we left Animal Kingdom.

We headed to Expedition Everest next and the wait was only 20 minutes! Sarah and Kristen has fastpasses from earlier that morning, and Nat and I just got in the standby line.

We were in row 10! And the line was not bad at all! It was super fun!

We met up with Kristen and Sarah in the gift shop, and I had Sarah pose with these elephant stuffed animals! Elephants are her favorite.

After that ride, Kristen and Sarah let me, Nat, and Scott use their extra Kilimanjaro Safaris fastpasses they received that morning! That was PERFECT because then we didn't have to wait until we could get new fastpasses!

Before we headed to the ride, some lady complimented us on our Mickey shirts! She wanted to know if she could buy them in Disney... but unfortunately we had them custom made at home!

Me, Nat, and Scott made our way over to Kilimanjaro Safaris. There was a big back up and it was SO hot out. So the wait was pretty brutal.

Thankfully we finally got on the ride. There weren't a ton of animals out, but it was still fun! I'm glad we went on it!

HAKUNA MATATA... WHAT A WONDERFUL PHRASE...

"We've got YOUR laughing place... right up here!"

This rhino was all covered in mud! Maybe it helped him escape the heat a little bit.

Yeah there really weren't a ton of animals out today. It was the heat, I'm tellin' ya. It was early afternoon and the sun was BEATING down. I wouldn't be out if I were them, either.

We met back up with everyone and went to Pizzafari for lunch!! My favorite!

Our nice, refreshing Caesar Salads:

DISNEY PIZZA DISNEY PIZZA DISNEY PIZZA!!!

And I got the chocolate mousse this time. January taught me well! DO NOT GET THE SUGAR FREE STRAWBERRY PARFAIT. Yuck! It's so gross.

Our meal was fantastic as usual! I just love that place so much!

We finished up lunch and then went to Camp Minnie-Mickey. We saw this stuffed animal of Timon and Pumbaa and took a picture for Mr. Sam, since he sang Hakuna Matata with us!

And then off in the distance.... TOUR GROUP FLAG ALERT!!!

Thankfully, we successfully avoided them on this trip!

So we took a look at Camp Minnie Mickey, and the only character wait that wasn't totally insane was Donald Duck. There were fans in the line, which was good because it was SO HOT. Ughh. It was finally our turn, Sarah got an autograph, and we took a picture with Donald!

We were going to meet other characters, but the lines were just too long! So we went in the gift shop to cool off for a few minutes.

LOOK WHAT I DISCOVERED.... Jesus loves Disney too! ♥

We also found this BEAUTIFUL Animal Kingdom Crewneck! I don't know why the heck I didn't buy it... I just was not in shopping mode on that trip! I'll have to get it next time! Kristen got it a few days later on this trip though! It's just adorable!

I love that gift shop! It's decorated so nicely!

We decided to go to Festival of the Lion King next! This was Nat's first time seeing it and she was AMAZED!

Sadly, we were in the giraffe section again. Now.. I have NOTHING against giraffes. I really love them! Except in this show. I don't like bleating like sheep. GIRAFFES ARE SUPPOSED TO BE SILENT! I think Disney made that whole "sheep" thing up.

Okay, they probably didn't... but I like to pretend.

The Lion section is my favorite because they go ROAR! But really... they have the best animal sound! Anddd they have the best host.... Good Lookin'. I love him.

That show really is spectacular. I just never get sick of it and I get goosebumps every time! All of those performers are exceptionally talented! I am so beyond impressed with them.

I left the theatre feeling cooled down, relaxed, happy and satisfied. Yay! Time to venture forward!

THAT BIRD PICTURE IS TERRIFYING!!! I'm gonna have nightmares. This update should have come with a warning LOL

In July, our driver said that elephants/rhinos cover themselves with mud because it protects their skin from the sun. I guess mud is nature's sunscreen. I don't know why I continue to pay for it when I could just slather myself up with some mud at the hotel in the morning and be done with it.

PIZZAFARI I'll be covering our meal there in my next update (whenever I get around to writing it).

Donald's park ranger outfit is like my favorite thing ever. He looks so cute!

Next time I get stuck in the Giraffe section, I fully intend to swing my "neck" around and make horribly violent smacking sounds. After sitting through that Youtube video, you can bet I'm going to be putting my new knowledge to use.

YAYAYAYAYAY 19 DAYS!!!! I was readjusting my reservations this morning (again). I need to get the most out of this trip so I can write the most informative and food filled trip report EVER!

Ok... I really have a dilemma now, a major life decision to make. I have been planning for months now (seriously, months) to get a cupcake at Kusafiri Cafe at Animal Kingdom. But now... between your and Kristen's Starring Roles updates... I have no clue which one I want more. Oh good grief. I CANNOT get both. I have too many other things on my list to get two cupcakes. But ahhhhh. Hahah I'm sorry I'm posting my DRAMA on your TR.

Hahaha I love that you were readjusting your ADRs. A planner's work is never done... I mean it's literally an art form. I KNOW that TR is gonna be awesome though. And also... I AM IN THE SINGLE DIGITS NOW. OH MAN. This morning I had a dance party alone in my kitchen (I had a ME party, a party by myself. )

Hahaha NO PROBLEM! Hmmm I really don't know! I have never had the Animal Kingdom cupcake before so I can't compare the two. All I do know is that the Red Velvet one is AMAZING and you would not be disappointed if that is the direction you choose!

I think it would be funny if the people sitting in the giraffe section boycotted and either sat in silence or just roared anyway. Lucky for Disney, I have never been seated in the giraffe section.
