Enchanted Movie Day!

ready for picture overloard????

No paper crafts today! WOOT! I think the kids had more fun with the messy caramel apples than all the other crafts we've done. ;)

We decided to theme everything with apples (apple juice, caramel apples) and decorate apples just like they do at Goofy's Candy Company! I had fun editing my pics, but realized that I must have been drooling over these things b/c I had to many shots of apples, you wouldn't believe it.

Kya was also sitting near that blasted window again and the light messed up half my pics, so I have only a couple pics of her and Jace, who decided to join in yesterday! Tons of pics of Savannah though, she was completely wack-a-doodle over the candy and cookies we put on the apples and had half of it on her face!

After I finally read the directions to the caramels and realized I was supposed to add 2 TBSP of water, we were on our way to melted gooiness!

The girls had apple juice with club soda in it to make it fizzy. In this shot I believe they were observing cat hair that had gotten in their drinks! :p

This was a messy undertaking, I think that's why the kids thought it was so fun!

They had a lot of silly fun making these and of course, I loved that it tied into the trip. Anything for me to talk about WDW!
Here's the finished product: apple dipped in caramel, rolled in oreos and reeces, and then drizzled in chocolate!

The girls also had fun swinging their arms around making my pics blurry. Savannah has learned that if she moves fast I can't get the shot. Stinker! After they were full of sugar and ready for the movie, they dawned their best faces and told us that they were the evil step-sisters and to go get them something? Hope, what did Savannah tell me to go get? A drink? :p

They grabbed thier activity books and headed to the couch! Little did I know that I had made their day by printing out a QUIZ on the movie! Ah, the joys of homeschooling when your kid actually LIKES to take quizzes! I may have to do this every time, they had fun finding the answers while watching the movie, made it more interactive I guess!

Loved this movie! Funny with a great message! :lovestruc

Loved your Enchanted night!!! I'm not a big fan of apples, but the way you guys made them look awesome!!!

Ann, these things not only looked good, they smelled good too! The kids were saying they couldn't even taste the apple!

I'm kicking myself...when we were in WDW this past October, I got a caramel apple from Goofy's. It was MASSIVE. I have never seen something so large. (good thing too b/c it cost 10$!!!). I was so excited to eat this thing that I carried it back to the rental house in the big box they put it in and devoured it without TAKING ANY PICTURES?!?!?! :sad2: It could not be eaten by picking it up, I had to cut it into pieces and Savannah shared some of it with me. It was my lunch that day. :p

I love hearing about your movie nights! I'm totally going to print out quizzes for our nights. Well, it might have to wait a few years (my daughter is 17 months old) but I'm still putting it in my movie theme night ideas list I have going. :)

I think it's GREAT that you have a list going and are starting early! I kind of wish that I had done some of these things when Savannah was younger. I REALLY wish that I had gone to WDW with her when she was younger as well, she was so into the princesses when she was little, it would have been fun to see her interact with them. :lovestruc

Do you notice in both of our pics that Kya can't keep a straight face when she's trying to be 'evil'. Savannah is a much better actress than she is- "Go fetch me a towel!" LOL!

I can totally relate to Savannah......I am the little sister to 2 older brothers so sometimes it's truly necessary to be evil....hee...hee...hee (sinister laugh) :lmao:

Except Karen is exageratting (sp?)! Savannah isn't even close to evil- she just has a great sense of humor and knows how to play it up!

Hi I just found you tonight and have got all caught up I have been enjoying reading about your life and your plans I thought I was the only one out their stressing like you about finacially being able afford a trip to disney and planing one before I knew if we could afford one:lmao: I think I read Hope's PTR talk about short term meomry loss:rotfl2:because you all look familar to me:rotfl:First off my dh will not fly he flew in a family friend's small plane and loved it when he was little but has never flown in a big plane and wont so we will be driving or should I say I'll be driving from michigan it's 19 hours:eek: we do stop and stay at a hotel our first trip my ds came with us and our dgn came to we stayed in a hotel and they gave us a room with 3 queen sizes beds and it was only 80 for the night then we went the following year stayed at the same hotel but my ds and dgn didn't come with us it was just the four of us my dh,ds,dd and it was 60 for the night with just 2 queens the good thing for us about driving is we take our own food for in the room because were big eaters:laughing:and we do the ddp I cant imagine that their not gonna offer the values the same free dining as the other hotels well i hope they offer it because were gonna stay at pop but if not maybe we can afford another hotel I haven't even booked yet just know we are planing to go at the end of august we are waiting to get our taxes back :rotfl:before I book and talk about money problems at least your Dh has a job mine is laid off:scared1:and if he goes back to work he'll just have to take the time off:lmao:well just wanted you to know i'm reading and enjoying your stressing out :lmao:so I know I'm not alone

Welcome foxyroxy! I'm so glad you jumped right in! I'm sorry your husband is laid off, I know how hard 1 month was for us, I can't imagine longer! We're hoping for a tax return as well, but since Rey owns a truck, we have a place that specializes in the trucking business do it and we haven't heard back yet. I'm just praying we don't OWE! :scared1: It's so hard b/c here we are struggling and the best way for me to escape that feeling of doom is to plan a trip. Seems silly to plan something so expensive when I can't even get the bills paid, but it's the only thing that keeps me sane and gives me hope that things will get better.

OHMYGOSH. I was in full-on panic mode yesterday, thought the whole trip was in the toilet.

Some of you know that we were planning on getting homeschooling tickets instead of regular tickets. It was a substantial savings on PH&M tickets through the YES program. Well, the last few years they have had homeschool days the 3rd or 4th week of Jan and Sept. I based our whole trip on this assumption.

Yesterday I get the dates after emailing and asking...September 8th & 9th. :sad2: Not only are they at the beginning of Sept. but in the middle of the week, so in order to be there during homeschool days, we would have had to go on Labor Day weekend! This is not possible for me at all with my petsitting, I have a lot of clients that do one last trip before summer ends. I was on the phone calling Hope as soon as I found out, worried that our plans to go at the same time had just been thwarted. (I know, it's all so dramatic, right?)

Hope & I talked, I talked to Rey (who wasn't willing to change the dates either b/c of F&W) and we decided to bite the bullet and just get the 5 day park hoppers with our package. It isn't much more money for us IF we don't do WP&M. So, we decided to skip Disneyquest and Blizzard Beach. At first I thought that would be a bad thing, but honestly I don't LOVE the waterparks and the thought of wasting a perfectly good Wednesday to go to BB was bothering me anyway!

THEN, while on the phone with Hope, I wondered allowed if it was so much more to add a 6th park ticket, since I knew the pricing was tiered on tickets. Turns out we can add a 6th day to our tickets for $15.99! That is TOTAL folks! Sixteen dollars and we can go to another park?!?! I'm ALL OVER that!

So, we lost a waterpark but gained another park day! I spent the evening pouring over my notes, scribbling in changes, and trying to coordinate with Hope.

I called Rey b/c I was still worried about going to the opening night of Food & Wine. I told him that going to MNSSHP would be better and he was slightly frustrated, but said he would do whatever I wanted. So, I struck a compromise. We will go to World Showcase on THURSDAY, for the soft opening (hopefully) of F&W and then we will go back for just a couple hours on Friday for the opening as well before heading back to get dressed up and go to the party! It works out GREAT! I'm so excited about my new schedule.

Hope & I decided we would plan an afternoon for the girls to swim and do the pool party activities at ASMU instead of the waterpark. They will still do Kim Possible together as well!

My ADR's look ok, I have 2 days that have 2TS each, which makes me a little nervous, it doesn't look that balanced, but I think it will work out!

Is this right? You're going to do a KP Mission on your AK day? Just curious, it seemed like an odd place for it since you have nothing else at Epcot that day.

 You have such a great eye! I told you I was glazing over looking at this stuff! What happened was I took my old itinerary and cut and pasted stuff to change it and this just got missed!

It's easy to catch stuff in someone else's plans, lol. I was really just wondering because we will be swimming that afternoon so the girls might get a bonus afternoon.

I don't have my stuff all typed up yet because I worked on it in bed so it's still scribbles on a page. I'm working on it though.

I'm SO much happier with this plan, but it came at a cost! Now if the hours would just come out so I only have to do this switcha-changaroo thing one more time!

OMG!!!! You must have been so freaking out when you found out about the homeschooling tickets. :scared1: Your WDW2011millionthItinerary looks awesome! I know you'll make it all work!!!

Thanks Ann.

Today has just been a bad day. Rey & I are arguing, money is the root of it. How can you argue over something you have none of? Sigh. I'm just feeling sorry for myself, but I'm tired of trying to muddle through the winter and the catching up on bills and it's just really getting to me this afternoon. :sad1:
