What are some of the best themed restaurants in Hollywood studios that have not only good food but give you an overall great experience as well?

50's Prime Time Cafe is our favorite. The food is good. The fried chicken dinner is great. We go there on every visit. 1950's theme (Mom's house 1950's).
The Sci-Fi: Drive-in movie theme. The atmosphere can't be beat. Set up like a drive in movie. Your table looks like a car. Very unique place to eat. In my opinion, the food is very average (not bad) but nothing special.

We like both the 50's Prime Time and Sci-Fi but we prefer Sci-Fi. They have great burgers & milkshakes! Watching old sci-fi movie clips in your car is great!

The restaurants at HS are a mixed bag, some have more theming than others. TS restaurants have more theming than QS, and "delicious food" is really a matter of opinion as what's delicious to me may not be delicious to someone else.
For table service, there's:
50's Prime Time- classics like meatloaf, pot pie, fried chicken. It's themed like a 50's kitchen.
Sci-Fi Dine-In- burgers and shakes. You eat in a car-shaped booth set up as though you're at a drive-in movie, and movie clips show on a screen at the front of the dining room.
Hollywood Brown Derby- A replica of the Hollywood Brown Derby in CA, very Golden Age of Hollywood. Steaks, seafood, amazing Cobb salad.

All of the above have good food and I've never had poor service at any of them.

Then there's the Buffets;
Hollywood and Vine- this gets really mixed reviews, people either love it or hate it (I'm in the second camp). Not very themed, you're more there for the Disney Jr. characters or a PPO breakfast.
Mama Melrose- Italian food. Gets generally good reviews. It's a stereotypical take on the old Italian restaurant (think plastic grapes galore, and twinkle lights). Again, not terribly exciting theming but it is decent food.

The Quick Services- the only two with any real theming are Woody's Lunch Box (counter looks like a lunch box tipped over), and PizzeRizzo (kind of a take on a NY pizza parlor with a little Muppet theming. Reminds me of something out of an old Muppet movie). Food at either one is good.

50's Prime Time Cafe is our favorite. The food is good. The fried chicken dinner is great. We go there on every visit. 1950's theme (Mom's house 1950's).

Not just DHS but these two are some of the highest themed restaurants on all of property. We ate at both last week.

Sci-Fi changed their menu between DS2 eating Monday and us eating Friday. My reuben and dessert are gone ... but I'll still go back.

50's Prime we split the sampler and everything was great.

Both had AWESOME servers who worked the theme.

I'm not thrilled with any of the dining options at HS including 50's PT and Sci Fi. 50's PT does offer a fun environment and the food is average in my opinion, but is just not a must do for me. Sci-Fi is great with the theming, but I'm just not a fan of the place or it's menu.

There aren't really that many sit down restaurants in HS. There are some QS which I won't mention.

The ones that come to my mind are HBD, Mama Melrose, 50's Prime Time, Sci-Fi Dine-In, Hollywood & Vine...
Of these, you are asking for good food and great experience...

The coolest theme in my opinion is Sci-Fi and if I could only do one, I'd probably pick that one.

We love both 50's Prime Time and SciFi, but usually go for SciFi because 50's menu is very heavy (meatloaf, pot roast, fried chicken) and not usually what I want to eat in the Florida heat.

We eat at both the Sci-Fi and 50's every trip. At 50's go with the fried chicken, I am from the deep South and an a harsh critic on chicken but I rank the chicken from 50's higher than the greasy fill stuff at Homecomings. But my favorite place at Hollywood is Sci-Fi. I just love the theming and the food but to be honest I call it s CS impersonating as a TS from the menu.

We have been to both, but have never missed a trip to Sci-Fi. You can't find anything like it anywhere and all of us, from my 70ish mom to my now 21yr old niece to my H and I, love it. We know going in it's a milkshake and burger kind of meal and look forward to it each trip.

Sci-Fi is just too cool and I've had some really good burgers there. Stick with the burgers, rings, milkshakes and you'll be happy.

DH and i love Sci-Fi. It really feels like you're at an old fashioned outdoor drive-in movie.

Were it solely up to me we would only eat @ Hollywood Brown Derby or Lounge within Hollywood Studios;).
I tried to make an ADR and do a walk in at Sci-Fi for the others without success. The walk-in required an hour wait when we went and nobody felt a burger and milk shake was worth that much.

Sci-Fi is one of our favorites and Prime Time is just fun.
Personally, there are other options there with better food, but not themed as well.

For an overall great experience you can't beat Sci-Fi. Excellent milkshakes! We prefer Prime time. Overall great experience as well as good food. We never miss that one.

I've heard a lot good things about Sci-Fi. Didn't know about the 50's restaurant, I'll definitely check it out on my trip. I'm so excited can't wait. Thanks for the help
