themed dining?

We love character and themed dining - it just seems more magical than eating at an "ordinary" resturant - we can do that at home. We are going this Dec. and were planning on eating dinner at Boma's. Would this be a "fun, themed" type of dinner? We ate at Ohana's, Sci-Fi, Coral Reef last year and loved the atmosphere. How would Boma's compare?

Ehh, not that great IMHO but the food is very good.

The atmosphere at Boma's is not the same as Ohana's--no games and races and loud music. The food is fantastic. If you have never been to AKL--the hotel's theming is great. You could get there early to look at the animals for a while before dinner.

The food and service were great but I wouldn't have said it was themed...not for kids anyway. It's more of a specific type of food restaurant than a themed one. But it is lovely.

I think it's a beautiful resturant, and I have certainly never eaten in a place that looks like that. It's not rainforest cafe, or even Coral Reef but it's not your local Denny's either.

I would say it looks the way I imagine a resturant in Africa might look - but then all my ideas on the subject come from TV.

Sci Fi, 50's Prime Time, Beirgarten, Ohana, WCC, Coral Reef, San Angel Inn...those are the ones that seem the most themed to me
