Ok as i posted a few days ago, i am thinking of staying at the Poly for the first time ever. What is a good longhouse? Is the theme park view worth it? Is there a longhouse that is better than the others? How about a long house with a good view that is near the main bldg?

You can see the castle and the water view is nice, but can't say it is worth the extra money(IMO). We like the longhouses near the TTC so we can take the express monorail to MK. Since we go to MK almost daily, this is a big plus for us.

Ive stayed in Tahiti MK view twice and it was worh every penny (the 1st time was in 2003, 7 nights for the price of 4, thats when they need bodies in the park) We love the location, close to TTC, not a bad hike to the bus stop, and very quiet. It is a ways from the GCH, but hey, you're at Disney, whats a few more steps;) The view is an unbeatable way to start and end your day at the most magical place on earth.

We also stayed Tahiti, MK view--(far off in distance compared to CR Tower view :teeth:, but you didn't ask about that!) and liked the location--used the TTC, too. GCH was a bit of a walk, but what isn't in WDW? Kids liked being able to run down to the beach and play on the hammocks while we watched from the balcony.
If you want the view, go for it. Life's too short for regrets. :)

Just got back from the Poly last night. We had a garden view room in Samoa, which is PERFECT for kids. It's a very short distance to the GCH and both pools are on either side. I wanted a balcony, but we got a second floor room with a "fake" balcony. It turned out to be just fine. We had a view (sort of) of the quiet pool. I loved the location, especially as we were dragging after all the walking. It was nice to be right there when we got back to the resort. I am so glad that we didn't pay extra for a castle view. It's really not that much of a view and you can go sit on the beach to see Wishes or just look at the castle. It's actually pretty far away though.
