Can you helpful and knowledgeable folks enlighten me as to when the Theme Park ticket prices are increased? We’re going April 5 -19 2006 and would obviously like to buy them before the increases kick in. I’m presuming you can do this of course.

Any info will be gratefully received.

Yes, no problems buying a few months in advance (alot of people prefer to do this infact so you can take advantage of deals, pre -price increases, or dollar rates etc).

The word on the majority of Boards is that price increases usually occur sometime in the first 2 weeks of Jan - of course its not always possible to predict, but this seems to be the concensus.
The dollar has improved slightly in the last week - so its probably a reasonably good time to go for them now, before the New Year IMO.

Actually I have just found this ref to price increases on the Allearsnet website ............. :

"Does Disney typically raise ticket prices at certain times of the year?

Disney used to raise Annual Passport prices in the fall and regular ticket prices in the spring. But the last few increases were done differently. In January 2005, the entire WDW ticketing system was overhauled with the introduction of Magic Your Way tickets. Prior to that, UPH's went up in February 2004 and all other tickets went up in March 2004. Before that, the last increase was in gate prices in June 2003. And the prior two price increases to that (January 2001 and September 2002) raised everything across the board. Prices increased about 5%. Ticket prices went up slightly on January 1, 2003 as a result of a one half of one percent increase in the Florida sales tax. So you can see that there is really no accurate way of knowing when Disney will raise prices again. "

Hmmmm interesting reading ;)

Thanks for the information provided jdybnsn but, I’m back to square one as they say.

As a fully paid up cynic I can’t believe that a business will not put its prices up in any given year. However, I was reading today that there is not much going on in the way of replacement/refurbishment at Disney/Universal this year. Allied to the reported devastation of last year’s hurricane season and the need to re-establish confidence in the area perhaps there won’t be a price increase this year.

Nah! I can’t believe I said that either :rolleyes1

I like to buy my tickets early (assuming I have the spare cashflow to do so) so I know what I have paid and have them in my hot sweaty paws :teeth:

The only thing to add is that realistically there is probably more chance of them going up.......than going down... :smooth:

for what it is worth, atd told me over the phone they would be implementing a 9% increase in the New Year. Never know if they are trying to get you to purchase on the spot.
