It is my understanding that some of the hard-ticket events (like the Halloween or Christmas party) offer a discount to DVC members. Do we order tickets through the regular lines or through Member Services?

Thanks!

Yes there are usually DVC/Passholder discounts for select nights for hard ticket special events. Once dates and discounts are announced, you would call MS to purchase the tickets. You will have to pickup the tickets from any ticket window or guest services location once you arrive at WDW.

A friend of mine (non-DVCer) is going soon and ordered tickets for the Princess and Pirates Party in MK, which were sent to her. But I was wondering if I could have gotten them for her as a gift with my DVC discount...would've been a nice 50th Birthday gift, had I known beforehand she was interested in attending. Or would the discount only be good for tickets for ourselves? Would she have had to show a DVC card at some point?

A DVC membership card is required to pickup the tickets. The discount is for the member plus a limited number of guests. I think it's 5 guests for a total of 6 tickets.

Is that per person with a membership card? So, DH and I could each get 6 tickets by showing our cards for a total of 12 tickets?

That I don't know. They may look at it as one since you have the same membership number.

We usually use our AP's to buy discounted tickets as each has a unique number. We've also never needed more than 3 tickets so it's not been an issue.

I bought our tickets for the Pirate and Princess party thru Member Services and paid the $3 for mail delivery so we have our tickets in our hands and don't have to stand in line at guest services once we're at Disney.

Yes, my friend had them sent to her too when she purchased them on her own (non-DVC). Until I read your post, it sounded like people here were saying you have to pick them up at Disney and show your DVC card.

If they mail them to DVCers, could I have gotten them as a gift for her? Would SHE, having the tickets in hand after they were mailed to me and I gave them to her, have to show proof of DVC ownership at any time when attending the event? It's a moot point, actually, because she already bought them herself and I'll have to get her something else for her birthday :), but I was curious how it would work.

I haven't used the tickets yet, but I'm guessing that there is nothing else that needs to be done such as showing a DVC card....the tickets are ready to be used (they weren't vouchers). MS noted in my file the number of tickets that I had purchased. I never thought much about that but perhaps that's how they keep track of not letting a member buy more than a certain amount.

When we went to WDW in December and had purchased tickets in advance for MVMCP, we were able to get the tickets at SSR front desk.

Can associate members get the discounted ticket price too? Or is it just for the members?

What's an associate member? :confused3

· An "Associate" is a person named by the Purchaser or Purchasers who is only authorized to make reservations using the Club Member's Home Resort Vacation Points. Associates do not receive Member Cards and are not entitled to the benefits and privileges that are available to a Club Member. In addition, Associates may not access financial information related to annual dues and/or loan pertaining to the membership.

DisEye:
The member would have to purchase the tickets. If they are to be picked up at will call, the member would also have to do that. Others have reported that they had tickets for the P&P Party mailed to them. If that option is available for the MNSSHP and MVMCP, the member could order them and give them to you. But technically the member is required to be in attendance for the guests to be able to use the discounted tickets.

i was mulling adding an adult child (who no longer lives @ home) but, was told by MS he would not receive the AP discount. Fair enought I suppose, have to cut it off somewhere. i'd think the same would apply to the party events?popcorn::

I know we also get a discount on water park daily tickets. Do we call MS for them also and can you get a limited number for others. And if they can be mailed how long does it take?

We have a few left on old passes but need one for DH and neice.

Yu can just buy those at any ticket booth. Show your blue membership cared to get the discount. Believe it is $4 off an adult ticket. Not sure about children's tickets.
