I was curious as to what some themes people were using for their weddings--I'm drawing a complete blank and don't even know where to begin!!! :confused3

We're doing a all out Cinderella/Fairy Tale theme.

Just met with our decorater for the hall back home tonight, and she's special ordering these beautiful candelabra's for our centerpieces. We're doing half those, and half white with glitter sprayed craft pumpkins and voltives on a mirror.

Color wise everything is silver and baby blue.
We also are renting a BEAUTIFUL Cinderelle-esq castle card box.

Pictures do not do it justice but here is a photo of it from her website.

We're doing a "when you wish upon a star" theme. Stars are so easy to find and often cheap. We're going to Disney this December and going to try to take different pictures of us at the fireworks shows to use for our invitation. We're also going to use small battery operated fountains for our centerpieces and sprinkle star confetti around them. I'm planning on using stars in my veil instead of those round ones they normally use. Stars are also subtle so it won't be an overpowering theme. And of course our colors will be silver and blue.

Our theme was Flip Flops & Fairytales...our colors were sea mist/celadon & lilac.

Flip flops and fairy tales sounds sooo cute!

This is such a great idea for a thread! I won't be much help - I have nooooo clue about anything for our wedding! - but I'm hoping to get some ideas from the minds on this board!

I am doing a flip-flop theme (Thanks KT27!) and a hidden Mickey theme together. Our colors are peach and bright orange. It's a lot of fun b/c I get to incorporate the beach and Disney, which is why I chose SBP and Ariel's. Good luck!

Our wedding theme is "And They Lived Happily Ever After" but mostly the theme is just our color: lavender

for the ceremony we had a rose theme along with the colors red & gold which i incorporated through our decor, programs, flowers, location (yc gazebo in the rose garden), etc. for our reception we had an under the sea theme at ariels at the beach club. we used glass bowls with shells & floating candles on our tables along with water/sea themed centerpieces, the colors blue & silver in our napkins, menus, our cake, etc. red & blue are also our favorite colors so it was nice we incorporated that into our day.

Medieval!!!!!
Yay for swords!
Oh an purple Deep dark royal purple
The FD wanted a Pirate themed I did too But we decided to somthign more elegant but still fun.

I love the rose theme and the flip flops and fairytales! ;) My DF is not a huge Disney fan...I'm still working on it! ;) But even with a wedding in Disney, he doesn't want it to be too 'Disneyfied'.....does that make sense?

Yes, because I feel the same way. I love Disney, but I don't want my wedding to resemble a 7 year old's birthday party. But you know, I think Disney is really a pretty class act, so I am not sure that is really a valid concern. (Talking to myself, here. ---it's a bad habit.)

I don't really have a "theme". Is 'nice' a theme? I just lack imagination. My fiance says he thinks the theme should be "Pirates and Bankruptcy Court" but he is such a cynic. pirate:

I asked him what colors would go with that, and he says, "I don't know, but I think the announcements should be printed in red ink."

I say, "Honey, isn't this just..." and before I can finish the sentence he says, "Uh huh. How much?"

My advice is to just go with the colors you love, and think about what you and your fiance love most--what is meaningful to you.

All the themes I have read on here are really cool ideas, though.

"Flip-flops and Fairy Tales" just sounds so much more romantic than "Pirates and Bankruptcy Court."

We're planning on a nautical theme. It's not totally set.....but I have lighthouses for centerpieces and we're planning on the Living Seas. Not sure of ceremony location --- Epcot Germany or Sea Breeze Point. Colors might sound strange, but, possibly red, white and blue.....the dress I love at David's (low price too) has red on it (could change hte color but I love that one), then BF wants to wear his Air Force uniform (blue) so I think those three will be enough colors! I want red roses for a bouquet, and leaning towards no bridal party or I will have to refigure the whole thing. IF I have a bridal party, I wanted a shade of purple (then change my dress color. not red).

We're having a Victorian High Tea theme. :)

"Yay for swords!" :rotfl: :thumbsup2 I admire your creativity for your wedding, and I can't wait to see your pictures! :) I'd love to go to a wedding like that....so fun!!!

My wedding has a nostalgic/retro/childhood memories theme....for grown ups. :)

We are doing a Cinderella theme as well. Our colors are also silver and baby blue. To only think I just have a few days left and it will all be over.

We had Cinderella and Prince invitations given out to all our guests. As far as decor we are having small carriages on the tables, flower petals, our disposable cameras for each table have cinderella and the prince on them, our favors are slippers with hershey's hugs and kisses in them and the tags have cinderella and the prince on them with our names, date, and "Hugs and Kisses from the New Mr. and Mrs."....haha get it?

Let's see..hmmm....our toasting glasses and knife set are matching with carriages on the bottom of the holders. We are using the Disney's Fairytale Wedding CD for our Cocktail Music. We are giving wands to hand out to each lady that enters the ballroom. The ring bearer is holding his pillow with a clear slipper on it. Thought glass would somehow break in the hands of a 4 year old.

My most precious decoration I received at my bridal shower. A friend of mine made a large Cinderella's carriage using a large fishbowl as the pumpkin, and used bent metal to form the rest of the carriage. It is used as a card holder. It is absolutely gorgeous!!! So after the wedding we are thinking of using the fish bowl as what other than.... a fish bowl. We are thinking of placing a small castle in the middle and adding a few fish so it's something we can have around the house. We can always look at it and remember our wedding day. Awww!!

Anyways, I've done enough typing. Let's hear from some other DISers.

I dont have a theme as such yet my colours are black and baby pink....more baby pink but with the black outline and silver mixed in too. I like a sort of star and moon theme (love star shaped balloons lol) But still thinking!
I love hearing about everyones ideas everything sounds so lovely!
