"theme" for Disney World 2014

Anybody have any ideas on the theme for 2014? "What will you celebrate" is getting tired. I would like to see "year of a million dreams" again. In 2007 during my hunnymoon we were approached by a CM and given private waterfront viewing of Illuminations! One of my favorite Disney experiences ever!

I've been wondering the same thing, haven't been on DISBoards for awhile because of college and other things.

Not sure if they would wan't to repeat themes, I'd rather see something new and creative really, the Limited Time Magic events kinda fell flat, to the point they went from special events to buy this special merchandise/seasonal food.

I heard some theories that they may do a one year only theme again next year, so in 2015 they can tie into Disneyland's 60th birthday like they did with it's 50th in 2005.

On a side note I did go during Year of a Million Dreams and never got anything or saw the dream team cast members at all. I did enjoy Celebrate because I got to celebrate my 16th birthday at Disney World, and had so many good memories, its a trip I'll always remember. But I do agree It's time for it to go.

Haven't seen any trademarks on Stitch Kingdom, so I don't know.

You and I will never see eye to eye, that is obvious. I refuse to accept that Disney made memories for you. I believe YOU made those memories, YOU! (or perhaps your father or whomever paid the bill). But Disney GAVE you nothing, they may have executed wonderfully, fantastically in the role they performed but I am sad to think that a theme park experience is going to be the memory highlight of your wedding or honeymoon.

Don't get me wrong, Disney provided me and my family a fantastic backdrop for many, many great memories but I paid for that backdrop and my wife and kids were the ones MAKING the magic, not Disney.

As for the themes, I really don't care but what pushes my buttons is the blind loyalty to a worldwide conglomerate who's only reason for existence in the 21st century, is finding the best ways to part you and your money for as little effort as possible. That's it. The fact that there is any of what people call "magic" left is a testament to the vision that Walt himself put forth. He was a genius and innovator but since those days it's just Walmart baby. Packaged, marketed and PRed by real pros. You can dress a duck in a tuxedo but it's still just a duck.

Okay so I am always a positive person on the boards, but I can't hold it in.....
Why do you even bother going to Disney if you choose not to believe in the magic??
Maybe you should just stay home and let the true believers enjoy all that Disney gives them no matter how little or much pixie dust it involves.
Kids always believe and I might be 34 years old, but I love the way my sons face lights up while watching a Disney parade as he is waving to Woody and Buzz while they go by on their float.
Disney created that. Not me.

Year of a Million Dreams was our best visit. We did't get to stay in the Castle but we did get upgraded to the Steeple Chase Suite ( Presidential Suite ) at the Boardwalk. The room was bigger than my house! Now THAT was Magical and certainly a dream come true!

I don't understand why asking about a theme gets you so upset. I just think its cool. I would go with or without a theme, just as I did in the past before they did these. The theme isn't causing me to book my vacay. It's not like if I don't care for what they choose I won't go. It was really awesome getting something special on my hunnymoon that most people will never experience. So yes I support disney for going that extra mile, that they do not have to, to make memories for me that otherwise would not exist.

It is kind of silly to play a semantics game about who makes the memories Disney or the person. The poster knows perfectly well the memories are in their head and therefore made by them, but Disney made those particular memories possible. Duh. Disney did give us something. Enough something that we pay a good bit for it. Disney provided the Magic for you to make.

Why would it make you sad if their favorite memory of their wedding or honeymoon was a "theme park experience." We are Disney addicts after all! Such a statement comes across as very arrogant and condescending. cantslowdownptwn, you take your favorite memory from wherever you want and if it is at Disney, I'll understand and I'll be happy for you!

If it pushes your buttons when people are "blindly loyal to a worldwide conglomerate" then why do you punish yourself by participating in a website likely to be filled with JUST SUCH PEOPLE? And why do you invade their threads and rain on their parade? What did cantslowdownptwn ever do to you? BTW, I don't think cantslowdownptwn ever said they were blindly loyal. And one of the things I love about Disney is that it makes gobs of money AND makes me happy. If didn't do the latter I wouldn't go, if it didn't do the former, it wouldn't exist!

Walt started that conglomerate and he was the master that set the course that is followed today; the genius idea of making money every way possible while making people happy at the same time. They are doing EXACTLY what Walt envisioned.

You certainly have the right to your opinions and the right to post on this site; post away on your own thread or contribute something helpful to this one. Don't complain about Disney fans on a Disney fan site. Especially since it apparently makes you unhappy. I want you to be happy. Cheer up. Take a vacation... to DISNEY!

I'm 53, my wife is 50 and our grown kids are 25 and 27. We are all Disney fans! Well said.

I like the idea of Show us your Disney Side. They could do a lot of good things with this. But I don't expect or need much. It is just a theme. Save any great special ideas for the special years such as important anniversaries.

P.S. There are contests you can enter now to win a night in Cinderella's castle. I entered just for that reason. It came by email I think. D23 newsletter I believe.

Just wanted to say I'm curious, too, and I enjoy the themes as well!

I liked the celebrate theme and the Year of a Million Dreams. We received a very awesome fast pass card with a fast pass for several rides in Hollywood Studios during Year of a Million Dreams. My kids and my nieces could not believe it!! It definitely added some magic to our trip. And a photopass photographer came and took a picture of our whole group with the passes, too. The kids loved it. FUN.
