Theft at Disney

I wonder what resort the OP was at? She's not telling...:confused3

A little off topic but your dogs are cute and I think the resort is All stars by which police department responed and that the only resort in that county the rest are in orange county.

it truly makes no difference which resort, crime happens at all of them. What is important for everyone to remember is that Crime Happens at Disney World on a daily basis.

There are thefts, drug deals, prostitutes, and more.

Don't leave your common sense at home when you go on vacation.

And yes, the All Star resorts are the only ones in Osceola county.

When I saw the title I thought it was refering to high prices. :confused3

If that were the case then the OP would have gotten flamed for trying to have a sense of humor. Someone would have said...

"OMG, when I saw the title of this thread I immediately thought that someone was seriously hurt" and "that is a sick way of playing a joke on us".

I could just see it now. Maybe I will start a thread along those lines. HAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA

Six in one hand and half a dozen in the other.

When I was a CM at the BC fd we had huge problems with pizza flyers. Many times guests would call us to ask about a flyer and we would tell them to stay away from them. We had a list of "safe" places to order from - basically big chains and places we had ordered from ourselves. Even at c/i we would mention the flyers to guests. It is very hard to find these ppl :headache:

Someone mentioned the iPhone locator - they also have it for the iPad and it is free :thumbsup2

OP - thanks for sharing your story. I am sure it will make us all a little more mindful of our valuables while at the World :grouphug:

If a misused work on an internet thread title is a big deal, what do you consider small stuff?

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

OMG..I'm dying. thats awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2

Maybe the small stuff is trying to decide between "paper" or "plastic" or between scott tissue or charmin.

BTW...I think you meant to say "word" but you spelled it out as "work". Thats kinds a big deal and your post is misleading. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA (just kidding of course)

Since this fake pizza flyer scam is so prevalent and obviously has been going on for a while, why can't the front desk warn people about it when they check in? I easily could have been scammed by this last year while staying at BWV. Those flyers were under the door every day and it just never occured to me that this would not be legit. First I heard about it was reading the Orlando Sentinal a month ago or so. I would appreciate if Disney would give guests a heads up when they know something like this is going on in the area.

They warn you in the room they add it to the phone security flyer they put by your in room phone to be carefully of who you call for out side food deliver. Basically saying they can't help you if something goes wrong they can only help if you order room service. So the front desk my not say anything but Disney warns you in the room they have been waring guest not to give credit card numbers over the phone for over a year.

I think there's a little sheet in your room talking about unsolicited food delivery services. But a bigger point to you would be: never accept unsolicited anything. If someone calls on the phone with an unsolicited offer, if someone knocks on your door with unsolicited goods or services, if you receive unsolicited offers thru email or USPS. All of those are to be ignored completely. At a hotel, any hotel, an unsolicited flyer under the door should be a red flag to you: Scam! Scam! Scam!

Also most of the numbers on those flyers are blocked by the FD which is why we would get a lot of guests asking why they could not place an order. We would explain why but a lot of ppl did not believe us - they thought we just wanted them to order from room service :confused3

Now there are more ways of getting a new phone # and hotels might not be able to keep up. Or it could also be that since resorts now have a centralized phone room they cannot block #s like we used to.
