The4OfUs...."Romantic Escape at Sea" Pkg

You are so kind and considerate to answer all of our questions! thank you for your effort!

I want to thank you all you all for your description and comments on this package. I just booked it for our 4/3/04 cruise. When doe someone from DCL call to make the arrangements?

You should get a letter giving you the number to call. I think that you need to just call DCL and explain that you need to talk with Debbie, the Dining Coordinator about your REAS package. Don't delay, the cruises are booking quickly!

Just have your dates and times in mind!!!!

Oh...one more thing...when you get in for the spa treatment, you are offered two packages - the full body massage, or the spa taster, which is a back of the body massage, followed by flipping over and a facial and scalp massage. That was AMAZING. So you do get a choice once you're in the actual room, which was nice.

What do you suppose the spa would do with MY travling companion...a 100+# black lab....I would love to sign up for this Romantic Escapade for no other reason than to get a reasonable shot at getting reservations for Palo, etc. without first attaching the cowcatcher device onto the front of my electric scooter.....

Lynda - I would imagine that they would allow your dog to accompany you since he is a working dog and not a pet!!

Hugs,

Giving this a bump for DH to see. :D

I have a question. I apologize if it has already been answered on one of the previous 12 pages. :)

How is the champagne? Both the bottle and the glass served with breakfast. I'm not a fan of wine, unless it's sweet. The sharp tasting stuff makes me cringe.

I probably missed it somewhere on this thread, but I didn't notice any mention of the cost for this package. Does Disney send out info on this? We have 47 days left and I havn't received anything from Disney yet. I would like to look into this for DW and me. Has anyone else done this package with DD and DS along on their cruise?

The champagne is Korbel, it's fairly common, not the cheapest of the sparkling wines, but not super fancy either...it's pretty dry, actually, not what I'd call "sweet" along the lines of white zinfandel...

The price is $299 for the 7 day one...I think it's different for the 3/4 day one, depending on the land portion if you do that.

As for having kids along, yep, many have, read back in the thread to see. :) Other than one night with the "romantic turndown", which is as "romantic" as you make of it, there's really nothing that requires "adult only". ;)

I was not going to reserve this but we had already decided to go for the couples massage anyway and everyone's discriptions of it sounds so wonderful that I am in for sure! Just one more thing to look forward to on our vacation.

The4OfUs,
I think you should get a referal fee or something for showing us all about this package. The Disney Cruise DVD and travel brochure did not even begin to cover this. I know they would sell tons more if they showed everyone this thread. I can Hardly wait.
I am going with my DS14 and DS22(he is the one who suggested it). No Ressie Rush, Champane breakfast, I am ordering enough for all three of us, and even massages what a birthday blowout!!!! HEHEHEHEHE!!!!!!!!!
:hyper:
THANK YOU ALL FOR THIS THREAD!

*happy smile*

Just knowing that I helped you guys really seriously makes me happy...so thank YOU! :) And happy early birthday, I spent mine on the cruise as well, and that is THE way to go... *grin*

Spa taster or well being massage? Hmm. Have you tried a massage before? If not, the spa taster might be a good way to start, it's the back only...I did the spa taster and it was AMAZING, and next time would do the well being massage...but I never get to go to a spa so I have to switch off to "pamper" myself! ;)

the4ofus, I think you have me convinced but there is one last question. What dinner rotation is the one to choose? I seem to rember something about the APTAPTA (princess: -- my daughter just put her two cents in) rotation being the best one to choose. Thanks in advance for the help.

the4ofus, we are doing the couples massage (hopefully my husband will go) and I'm not sure I could convince him to do the facial (with the Spa Taster).
I guess we'll do the Full Body Massage (or if he doesn't want to go, I'll get both!)

Goofyguy1958, as to the rotations, I didn't choose one...APLAPLA is good because it means you're in Lumiere's for formal night, and the decorations in there are the most appropriate for formal...we had LAPLAPL, so we were in Parrot Cay. I thought it would bother me, but it didn't, everyone was dressed so nice, even the servers, that it made the night fun.

FanofDis - has your husband ever had a massage before, is he comfortable with it? Talking with others, this was something that many husbands were uptight with..."What do you wear..." and so on. The Spa Taster gives a good introduction to a massage without the full thing (ie. they only do the back) so if someone were unsure about it, that is one thing to consider is all. Next time I'd do the full body one, and then back to the spa taster and so on! *grin* (Yes, I want to cruise ALOT! *wink*)

Alright, I know I promised that this is the last question, but each question and answer seem to raise another question. This is my NEXT question -- I am going to drive myself nuts here, but I can't stop, I am just too excited about this cruise:earseek:  -- which of the nights (if we go with the APLAPLA rotation) would be best for Palo?

LOL! No problem! Again, this is all up to your own personal preference...but I would not miss the first night for Animator's Palate...(the light show)...but if you have APLAPLA, you get Animator's three times, so you might want to miss the second time around? Then you get a consistant experience in the others?

Then again, that night is Tuesday night, and perhaps you like the menus for that night, and would rather (as we did) skip one of the themed nights - we did not care if we missed the Mexican food night (as that's all there really is around us, for some reason - MEXICAN restaurants!!!)...so we chose Weds night.

Confused now? *grin*

The4OfUs,
I changed my mind after your post and decided to go with the Spa Taster. Thanks for your input and suggestions.
