The Yuck Factor

San Angel Inn in Mexico at Epcot!!! Food was awful and so was the service. I will NEVER go back!

My only real "Yuck!" at Disney was the fried chicken at 50's Prime Time. I'd heard so many good things about it, but it was greasy, fatty, and tasted like cigarettes.

Yep, cigarettes.

Yuck!!!

Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner. The food was really gross and tasted like a tv dinner. My mom and I felt so sick after eating there.

Mine would be the fast food place at EPCOT/American pavilion and the fast food place at Mexico/Epcot.

I've had some so so meals at TS, but never yuck. I don't find buffets very appealing anymore as the food is bland and tasteless. I have no desire to go back to Hollywood and Vine, or Maya Grill (the food was OK, but service slow and our server not friendly at all).

Biggest YUCK for us was Rose & Crown Pub in Epcot. The worst meal we've ever had on property times 10 and we all left HUNGRY looking for something palatable.:crazy2: There were other places we didn't care for but this one won the "YUCK" award from us.

Ditto...my son's meal smelled and tasted of "old refrigerator". The adult meals weren't that great either.

Cape May Buffet, let me just say BUGS!!!:scared1: Big enough reason we won't be going back. I know most restaurants have them but there is no reason I had to see them. Also, this is a poor display of seafood.

Boma is proud 2nd yuck factor runner-up!!!:sad2: Food is just gross, and we are not picky eaters. We just do not get why people love it here. To each his own, I guess.

Just our opinions, you asked.

I will not go back to Tony's at the MK. Horrible food.

If this thread goes on, we will have disliked ever food place at WDW.

Maya Grill- our one night stay at CSR!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We were at Maya Grill so long, that I thought we needed a room for the night! I wanted to let my DIS family know about our experience at Maya Grill on 8/21/06. Let me start by saying that the only reason we chose this location was because it was pretty much our only option. We had a group of 11, and most places were booked. When I inquired about the dining times, the CM said the evening was wide open...take your pick. Three weeks out and wide open? 5:00, restuarant opening, sounded good. Our park du jour was MGM, which is close by, but you just never know. We arrived at 4:30, no big deal. At 5:00 we checked in and were seated right away. We had two in wheelchairs, so while DH and BIL were off parking them in the appropriate place, our waitress came by. She said, since all of your party is not here, I'll come back. She quickly disappeared before I could say they would be right back....and they were. So we wait, wait, and wait. Finally she comes back to give us the specials and take the drink order. I know it takes time to get drinks for 11 people, but we were her only table. Still, it wasn't a big deal; it just allowed time for everyone to make their selections. We place our orders, and after some time, our appetizers arrive. Most were happy with their selections except me. I ordered the seafood margarita, which had three mussels, and a speck of "other" seafood about the size of a dime. I am not kidding here. The rest of what was in the glass was filler of some sort, but not shrimp and lobster. Not one shrimp to be found. I probably should have complained, and ordinarily I would have. The children's appetizers were large portions, so I helped them finish. And with all of the food with the DDP, I really wasn't terribly hungry. So we finish our apps, and continue to wait and wait and wait. Finally our entrees come out and it was evident that some things had been under a heat lamp for some time. Again, I know with a group of 11 that it is hard to time everything so that all dishes were ready at the same time. However, some of my food and my MIL's food was not kept under a heat lamp and was cold. She and I had the Mixed Grill and the steaks were no where near the way we ordered, so we sent them back. The steaks were returned perfect. We finished eating and waited and waited and waited for our waitress to come with the dessert tray. I might add that the restuarant was still pretty empty. Finally, all desserts ordered, and again we wait. I don't remember what I had, but I do remember that it wasn't all that great and I was coveting some banana thing that my BIL ordered. By the time we finished and were waiting to pay, another large group had been seated. Now we had to wait for our waitress to take their order, and they decided to make changes, ask lots of questions, get in an argument, and then sit there and think. Meanwhile, we are ready to go! Oh, and this group who delayed us from getting back to MGM had the nerve to ask us to take a picture of them. Might as well, while we are waiting to pay. Finally, 3.5 hours later, our credits are deducted and we are on the way back to MGM.

The food at Maya Grill was good, not great, but good. To us, it was not worth the park time that we lost.

I hope that others have had or will have a better experience!

We will never eat at Spoodle Breakfast again, the food was terrible, greasy, over cooked and just plain yuck!

We did not like 1900 Park Fare....again the food was over cooked and dried out.

Never again will I go to Chef Mickeys for dinner, the worst food we ever ate!

ITA! We ate there last year and it was horrible. It took almost 90 minutes for our food to arrive (and when we got it, it was terrible!). It was a miserable meal, for sure. Definitely the recipient of our "YUCK" award. I couldn't drag my DH back there again if I tried (and I wouldn't).

Tony's at MK (and we even gave this one a second chance!)
Hollywood and Vine at MGM. We had terrible service here so that may have overshadowed a mediocre buffet.
Chefs de France. This was such a disappointment. We all had appetizers (just fine) then they brought the kids meals, and about 45 minutes later they finally brought our food - COLD! It would take a lot to get DH to give this one a second chance, but maybe next year!

BUG??? Please elaborate! We've my ADR's for Cape May for the first time on our upcoming trip. ????????????????????????

I can't, for the life of me, remember a bad dining experience. I appreciate the people that have explained their experiences, but some have left off their explainations of WHY they would not return. Many of us have ADRs at most of the places listed, and would probably like to hear what went wrong. Thanks!

Hmmmm.... I've had GOOD experiences at some of the restaurants mentioned in this thread (Boma, Garden Grill, and Chef Mickey's, for example). However, I'm surprised Sci Fi hasn't made it on here. LOL!

Sci Fi has to have the WORST food in WDW. Just awful! I ordered the ribs and, despite NOT being a picky eater in the least, I couldn't get 95% of them down. BLECH!!! So Sci Fi gets my Yuck Award.

I also deem O'Hana breakfast as possibly my second runner up. COLD Mickey waffles, wet scrambled eggs.... bacon as hard as bricks... UGH! Good thing Lilo and Stitch were there. LOL! I'd maybe give it a second chance, but never for breakfast. Ewwww.....

Our YUCK award goes to the Liberty Tree for dinner....nasty food, green beans so hard they could've been used as weapons. just icky "American cuisine" I thought was a can't miss. Mostly non exisitant character interaction saw them as they wizzed past the table for their break. A huge waste of time and money IMO.... go figure I'm the picky eater I loved Boma and hated Liberty Tree.:confused3

Ok the yuck factor goes to, drum roll please. Concourse steakhouse!! I am the easiest of eaters to please. I am sure it was probably just an off night, since there are so many rave reviews here. But, the night we were there. My son ordered the barbecue ribs, and made a comment that the beans on his plate were very salty. I had a taste, and could have been diagnosed for high blood pressure after one spoonful, that night. Those beans tasted as though, someone had emptied a whole can of iodized salt in it. In retrospect, I should/could have complained but I did not. I was giving a pass to the chef, since I am one myself. But, that experience has turnd me off to concourse forever. the rest of the meal was so-so at best. Never again.

I've never had a bad experience at Nine Dragons. I know a lot of people like to complain about it, and say it's too high a price and you can get better food elsewhere, but here in Orlando, there aren't a lot of great Chinese places. My favorite is Ming Court on I-Drive, but their food is very similar to Nine Dragons and also a little pricey.

It's interesting to see that people say they would never go back to this restaurant or that restaurant. I'd like to tell you the story of the best and worst meal of my December trip.

I had lunch twice at Le Cellier, about a week apart. Both ADR's were at the same time of day (about 10 minutes apart) just after the restaurant opened, both during the week, and I ordered the same meal both times. You would think the experiences would be very similar. NOT!

The first time, I arrived and was seated promptly. A server was immediately at my side to take my order. I ordered a burger, medium well, and a drink. The server very apologetically said the fryer for the fries was down and offered potato salad or mashed potatoes as an alternative. I ordered the mashed potatoes. Within 15 minutes, I had a perfectly cooked burger (one of the best I've ever had) and delicious mashed potatoes. My drink glass never got less than half full before it was topped off, and even as the restaurant filled up, there seemed to be a sense of organization. I didn't have to ask for the check, and the server returned promptly to see if I needed change or a cc charged. It was the best meal of my entire trip.

Not so the next week. I was seated about 15 minutes after my ADR, even though the restaurant wasn't full. They were seating walk-ins ahead of some of us with ADR times that had already passed (and yes, I did check in PRIOR to my ADR). Once I was seated, it took 20 minutes to even see a server, another 20 minutes to get a drink. At 45 minutes, my food order was taken (keep in mind, this was as the restaurant was opening, so it wasn't busy yet). After another half hour, I finally received a burned burger that wasn't hardly warm and cold fries. I never received a single top up or refill on the drink. I had to wait another 20 minutes for the check (and I had to ask for it) and fortunately I was paying cash, so I could just leave it and go. It seemed like the kitchen was backed up from the get-go, and there was a very chaotic feel to the restaurant that day. I was soooo glad to leave!

If I had only had the second experience, I might have been inclined to really complain about Le Cellier. After all, I got substandard service and food and it took a big chunk of time out of my day. But the other meal was literally the best meal of the entire trip, from the service to the food. If they had occurred in reverse, I may not have gone back, and I would have lost the chance to experience the terriffic meal.

Every restaurant can have an off day once in a while, from not having enough cast members working on a particular day, to problems with the equipment, etc. If it's a cleanliness issue, I would address that with a supervisor right away. If I had a really bad experience, I might not go back to that restaurant on the same trip, but I'd certainly give it another shot on another trip. Restaurant managers and cast members move around all the time, the menus change, so what was a horrible experience this time might just prove to be your favorite the next time around.

BUG??? Please elaborate! We've my ADR's for Cape May for the first time on our upcoming trip. ????????????????????????

We were just there last weekend, went to the breakfast buffet (out of this world delicious) and the Clam Bake (again, some of the best food I ever ate)

The place was immaculate, so clean, no bugs, the buffet was super clean and organized, fresh food....

I say that everyone has the right to their opinion and one persons great is another persons gross....that does not stop me from trying a restaurant. I prefer to form my own opinion, post it on the Dis and go from there. Some of the best food items I learned about came from the Dis.

Even after reading terrible reviews on CM I tried it anyways...and I agree....it was gross lolololol!!!!
