The Black Knight decides to attend Gloria's bash at Gloworm. Meanwhile, Deacon approaches Nikki for a dance. At first she's a bit hesitant, but decides to kick her heels up!

Things go from bad to worse when Victor spots his sweet love Nikki on the dance floor with Deacon (In your face, Victor!) Victor confronts his ex and tries to rip her a new one, but Nikki doesn't give two hoots and keeps it moving. This motivates Mr. Mumbles to put a plan in motion that may torpedo his family. Victor calls Diane and tells her to head to Gloworm and feigns the reason is all about work. Diane leaves Nick and heads over to the club and Victor promptly lets her know he wants to play and not work.

Nick also heads over to Gloworm, since his night is a bust, only to walk in on his father giving Gloria a check and planting a big kiss on Diane! A stunned Nick storms out with Diane giving chase resulting in the two having a heated confrontation. Nick wonders if Diane was playing him while bagging his dad at the same time. Later, Nick has a chat with his dad and is still pissed by his actions. Victor pretends not to know why his eldest boy is upset with him. Nick doesn't give anything away.

In Victor's mind, he is trying to save his son from Diane, since he knows what a predator she can be. Victor thinks he can keep Ms. Jenkins under his thumb by executing his plan, but we all know how well those schemes of his turn out. At the same time, Victor really wants to find out just how serious Nikki is with Deacon and to drive her crazy. Victor still loves Nikki and is steamed she's with Deacon and wants to hurt Nikki by making a public spectacle of his relationship with Diane. Look for Nick to do something drastic as a result of his father's stunts.

Cover Story -- All's Fair in Love ... Will Victor's old tricks end Nick's new romance?

Sometimes, a kiss is just a kiss. And sometimes, it's a catalyst that can change the course of love! This week on Y&R, one liplock leads to another .. and that one has the potential to rip apart the Newman family as Victor battles Nick for the one thing they probably thought they'd never be fighting over -- Diane's heart!

Preemptive Strike! Having witnessed Nick and Diane celebrating Valentine's Day with a little tonsil hockey, Victor distracts himself by attending the big shindig at Gloworm. Alas, one of the first things he sees when he enters is Nikki in the arms of Deacon on the dance floor! Never one to hold back, The Mustache blasts his ex for her bad choice in partners. The altercation sets Victor's wheels spinning, and he calls Diane. Even though he knows he's interrupting her secret tete-a-tete with his son, he insists the beauty come to Gloworm on the pretext of working.

Reluctantly, Diane kisses Nick good-bye in order to do Victor's bidding. Yet when she arrives at the party, Victor thrusts a champagne glass into her hand and announces that work is the last thing on his mind! "Victor is the master puppeteer in all of this," previews Scott Hamner, co-headwriter. "He is being as sneaky and manipulative as Victor can be. He does not let Nick or Diane know that he has seen them. Instead, he wants to publically azset his relationship with Diane in a way that makes it impossible for Nick and Diane to really continue in the direction that they were heading."

Still, one has to wonder just how much Nikki waltzing around with Deacon may have to do with Victor's sudden desire to build something with Diane -- other than a new wing in the ranch house, that is! "Victor is killing two birds with one stone here. Hes azserting his claim over Diane partly in response to seeing Nick with her. Just seeing them together could have been enough. On the other hand, seeing Nikki and Deacon together could also have been enough," Hamner reflects. "The fact is, he did see both of these incidents, and in response, he's taking Diane away from Nick and at the same time socking it to Nikki.

Diane has made a play for Victor, and Victor is a man who doesn't particularly want to lead a life without a woman to share it with him," continues the scribe. "Diane is the woman du jour for now. He enjoys that it will get to Nikki. But when Victoralso makes the statement about Diane being the perfect woman for him right at this particular time, he's not being disingenuous. She is good for him at this point in his life."

Lost Moment?

Of course, Nick may not see it the same way. After Diane leaves, and the hunk is at loose ends, he decides to take Gloria up on her invitation to attend the Valentine's Day party at Gloworm. He arrives just in time to watch his dad take center stage to donate a humongous check to Gloria for the fundraiser ... and then to sweep Diane into his arms for an earth-shattering kiss!

When Diane comes up for air, she's more than a little stunned by the sizzling display -- and more than a little horrified to realize that Nick was in the audience to witness it. "Diane really is a player. She did make a move on the father and the son, kind of covering her bases. But she didn't count on her feelings for Nick to develop so quickly," Hamner says. Which leaves Diane in a precarious situation. "On the one hand, she got what she wanted for [all these] years, which is Victor making a claim on her," the wordsmith points out. "But at the same time, it appeared as though there was something that could develop that was genuine and romantic with Nick."

Despite Diane's player status, Nick isn't entirely blameless in this affair. "Nick really held back a bit with Diane," reminds Hamner. "If he would have been more forthcoming with his feelings and less reticent with her, Diane would really never have gone along with Victor when he made that play.

"It's all about timing. Nick has only realized on Valentine's Day the romantic potential he could have with Diane," he adds. "Up until the kiss they shared, before Victor interrupted them, it has been a more casual, less committed [relationship]. Now, he's had the realization that something more is going on here. And if Victor hadn't swooped in so unexpectedly, Nick was prepared to really pursue something with Diane. It was just bad timing for Nick."

That's not to say he isn't a tad ticked off at the model-turned-architect. "He's angry," Hamner concedes. "He feels to some degree that Diane played him. He can't be too angry with her on a rational level, because he was standoffish with her. But in terms of the heart ... he feels angry; he feels betrayed. It's a blow to him."

Father Knows Best

It might also be a blow to Nick's relationship with his father. After all, it's not easy to stay on good terms with a parent who just stole your girlfriend! Yet from Victor's perspective, he wasn't trying to hurt Nick. "In Victor's complicated thinking, he's actually doing Nick a service by taking this woman out of his life. He believes Diane will not bring Nick happiness. He believes he has a better shot of managing her," Hamner points out. "This is not a slap in Nick's face. Victor's protecting his son from a woman who has proved herself a threat, who can be a ruthless, calculating and mercenary figure."

The billionaire may believe that he's being cruel to be kind, but a funny thing happens with love ... it doesn't always fit into the box you want to put it in. "The feelings that Nick and Diane have begun to feel toward each other are only going to get stronger," Hamner warns. "Victor is trying to control things .. but it's going to lead to terrible, unforeseen consequences that have the potential to blow up in everybody's face!"

Drama for Nikki & Deacon!

Y&R's Nikki and Deacon seem to have a good thing going .. but with Victor around, happiness can never last!

The love story of the socialite and the convicted felon isn't exactly one we'd expect to see play out with Nikki, but according to Deacon's portrayer, Sean Kanan, it makes perfect sense! "Nikki and Deacon have seen each other at their worst -- and they still like each other," he explains, adding that Victor's ex is just about the only thing he's got going for him. "It could always get worse, but right now, he's living in a fleabag motel room and is working as a bartender. He's been in jail. He's on parole. That's why he's allowing himself to get involved with this woman. [Nikki's] the only decent thing in his life."

And as for her attraction to him? Well, Deacon's the anti-Victor. "He represents a lot of stuff that Nikki find attractive," Kanan muses. "He's a 'throw caution to the wind' kind of guy.`He's not controlling like Victor is."

Of course, just because they want to be happy with each other doesn't mean they can be -- especially with Victor around. The Newman patriarch regularly blasts Nikki for shacking up with the bartender, and he's not exactly a man of inaction. Is Deacon worried about the mustachioed mogul? "He doesn't seem to be," responds Kanan. "Deacon's a guy with nothing to lose." Of course, even the actor agrees underestimating Victor is probably a mistake. "Anyone who engenders the wrath of Victor Newman needs to run for the hills!"

Ins & Outs -- Look Who's Back

Sean Young [Meggie] -- After Deacon received that phone call from his former accomplice, many fans wondered if Meggie would be showing her face in town again. And indeed she is. This week, Nikki and Victor are shocked to discover the schemer has returned! Youn airs on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 (USA). The show is keeping mum as to whether Meggie will stick around, or whether she'll pop up in the future, but it sure seems likely. After her last stint in Genoa City, In Depth asked the actress if she would be open to a return. Her answer? "In a minute! In a New York minute! I love working on that show!" And accroding to executive producer and headwriter Maria Arena Bell, the feeling is mutual. The scribe raves Young "is an exeptional actress."

Tonya Lee Williams [Olivia Baber Winters ] and Beth Maitland [Traci Abbott Connolly] -- Walter Founterleroy debuted as Dr. Nate Hastings last week, and now his mom, Olivia, follows him back to town. Tonya Lee Williams, fresh off a stint on B&B, is back as Olivia, and she's thrilled about it. "In the beginning of last year, I worked quite a bit on Y&R, and then it's been completely dry for the last six months, so I'm really hoping that there's more," she notes. "I love how Maria writes where the story's going with the black storyline. I want to be a part of is as much as I can." Williams airs on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 (USA).

Meanwhile, Traci's portrayer, Beth Maitland, also appears on that day. Although she hasn't been seen since Victor's special Christmas episode, Bell has told In Depth that she's looking to use Maitland more in the coming year. "I feel very fortunate that they call frequently enough so that it doesn't rattle my nerves," Maitland shares with In Depth . "I'm always thrilled to go back, but I wonder when it's been a while, 'What color is my hair?' But, now, It's like I really work there [regularly]."

So we lose Cain and Ronan but get back Chance and Ryder as well as Phillip? At least Phillip has a decent haircut instead of looking like some vampire with bad eyeliner. It's getting painfull to watch TYATR. I don't know who's making hiring and firing decisions but they are like a bad tooth! Anyone know where to send them a message? Get rid of nuMalcolm, get rid of Jana, get rid of Ryder, bring back Cain and give billy and Victoria more love scenes. How is it that Billy and Victoria have more on screen chemistry than the actress does with her real husband AND where IS Reed???? Meggie is coming back?? OMG NOOOOO!!! What in the world does Sean Young have on the decision makers? Is she married to one of them? AWFUL!!

Newly single Tracey E. Bregman launches jewelry line
Posted Sunday, February 06, 2011 7:17:16 PM
by Elizabeth Lee

Tracey E. Bregman announced during a recent talks show appearance that she and her husband of 23 years have split. The actress has also launched a new line of fine jewelry. Bregman debuted as Y&R's Lauren in 1983.

In an interview on the Canada's Marilyn Denis Show, Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren Fenmore) announced that, after 23 years, she and her husband, real estate developer Ron Recht, have ended their marriage.

"Oh, my God, I'm single!" Bregman laughed in breaking the news. "I feel so good... It's about me being happy now and putting myself first."

The couple wed in 1987. In 1995, the Rechts separated for six months, but reunited. The couple has two sons, Austin, born in 1991, and Landon, born in 1996.

Bregman also made another announcement: she has started her own real-life fine jewelry line. Keen-eyed viewers will see Bregman wearing pieces from her collection on-screen on The Young and the Restless.

The Tracey Bregman Collection, with its "Where Trends Begin" tagline, will be sold exclusively through Canada's The Shopping Channel. The line includes sterling, gold, and diamond jewelry, with prices ranging from $69.95 to $1,499.95.

Bregman joined The Young and the Restless in 1983 in what was to have been a three-month stint. Last month, the actress marked her 28th anniversary with the top-rated CBS soap. The actress appears on the show on a recurring basis to allow her to be with her children.

They are speculating over on the soapcentral boards that the "real" FBI may not have Ronan! He could have been kidnapped by the crime organization!

Also saw this (why get rid of popular characters and bring in newbies???)

Y&R is casting for a new male role. He will be in his mid 30s to late 40s and will play a rough, tough, sexy cowboy who hails for a rural ranch in the west. They are looking for a big name Caucasian or Latino actor. The role is a contract role and starts airing in early March.

* Flashbacks of Cane's funeral are shown, while Cane visits Lily as a ghost. Lily's family and friends are worried about her but Traci tells them that Lily talking to Cane is her way of letting him go, she knows he isn't real.
* Katherine lashes out at Tucker about how he treated Cane after learning the truth but Tucker says he would have helped if Cane treated him like family. Later, Katherine apologizes to Tucker for the way she behaved
* Chloe goes back to the funeral home to talk to Cane, she regrets her scheming and breaking up Lily and Cane wishing Cane and Lily had more time together. Colin interrupts, he has time alone with Cane and says to himself this is not over

Next - Esther faints seeing Chance alive; Nick tells Diane he won't make the mistake of getting involved with her again; Victor doesn't seem to care that Meggie is back

* Christine learns from her source that Ronan did order his own transfer, everyone but Nina is convinced that Ronan is a user who got what he wanted and left. Nina refuses to give up on her son, believing there must be a reason he's doing this. Ronan's shown in a hospital doing a crossword puzzle
* After Nick makes it clear that he is no longer interested in Diane, she takes Victor up on his offer to move into the ranch but asks for seperate bedrooms because of Kyle.
* Nick and Chris have a run in at Gloworm, she talks about her best friend hurting unable to help while Nick talks being betrayed by a woman. Chris thinks its Sharon but Nick says Sharon is impulsive but not malicious while the woman he's talking about is a cold calculated *****, he should've known better
* Nikki learns Meggie is back in Genoa City because the other charges couldn't stick in Alaska. Nikki confronts Meggie about betraying her trust while Meggie questions Nikki about Deacon who Nikki says is none of her business. Later, Meggie goes through news articles regarding Nikki

Next - Kyle tells Nick he and Diane are moving into the ranch; Ashley asks Sharon if it is true she wants to marry Adam again; Abby is having second thoughts about her lawsuit

The husband and I was wondering why Phillip doesn't know Collin. :confused3 We thought Phillip knew who was after Cain.

Next - Kyle tells Nick he and Diane are moving into the ranch;

see this is where i get confused. are we supposed to forgety that diane is already living at the ranch and has been for weeks now?

or did i miss her moving out and now she's coming back in.

The husband and I was wondering why Phillip doesn't know Collin. :confused3 We thought Phillip knew who was after Cain.

I think Cain told Phillip the same story he told Lily, about the rustlers being after him. I don't think he knew the current version of the "truth."

see this is where i get confused. are we supposed to forgety that diane is already living at the ranch and has been for weeks now?

or did i miss her moving out and now she's coming back in.

I think they lived in one of the many houses at the ranch, like Sharon and Nick. Now they are moving into the main house.

I think they lived in one of the many houses at the ranch, like Sharon and Nick. Now they are moving into the main house.

no - they moved into a wing of the main house.

I wondered that about Diane at the ranch as well. I was sure she was already living in the main house.

These writers do think we are stupid!:happytv:

one thing that has bugged me about Ronan disappearing. My first thought is that is the chopper that took him was NOT the FBI, they would have let Christine know about that, I was thinking it was the government "criminals" I am sure there is more of them out there, and they do not want him talking.
I cannot figure out why this has not crossed their minds! It would have been the first thing I thought of.
just saying!

Had to laugh-watched the Valentine's episode today and thought it very funny that Deacon would take off his tux jacket outside to give to Nikki - who was wearing a fur! :rotfl:

* Jack and Phyllis want to keep quiet about the evidence they have saying its not enough to clear Sharon, they know its Victor but doubt the police will be convinced
* Victor asks Nick to be by his side when he goes to arbitration with Victoria and Abby today. Nick learns Diane and Kyle are moving into the ranch, is cold to Diane
* Victoria's suspicious of her father's latest move in their lawsuit, he's upto something which causes Abby to panic but Victoria manages to convince Abby not to quit
* Ashley finds out about Sharon and Adam's engagement, she's pissed. Ashley warns Adam if he hurts Faith, she'll make his life hell by haunting him like he did her
* Jack tells Sharon there's hope for her case but won't give details, he's shocked and upset at Sharon's engagement but is pissed to learn Diane is involved w/ Victor
* Abby gets suspicious Victoria's hiding things from her after her phone call w/ Tucker. Victoria claims that Tucker has been trying to convince her to work for Jabot
* Ashley tells Billy that she is not happy about Victoria and Abby's lawsuit against Victor and wishes they would drop it and make amends with their father
* Jack confronts Diane about her latest living arrangements, he's concerned for his son. Jack tells Diane that she can play house w/ Victor but Kyle will stay with him
* Phyllis shows Nick the video, he is in denial that Victor would do this to Sharon. Nick thinks back to Victor lying to him and then sets out to confront him
* Diane tells Kyle to only make Jack think he is staying w/ him and to come back at anytime if he ever feels uncomfortable staying with his father

Next - Jack confronts Victoria about Tucker; Jill asks Colin if he knows Cane; Nick wants the truth from his father

These writers do think we are stupid!:happytv:

This was bothering me, so I had to dig it up. I knew it was another house, because I was wondering just how many houses were at the ranch!

from soapcentral's bio of Diane:
Nick ran into Diane at the Athletic Club, they had dinner together, then he took her back to the ranch where they made love in front of the fireplace. But when Victor returned from his trip unexpectedly, Diane sneaked out the back door. Later Diane accepted a job from Victor as in-house architect for Newman, her first project to be the renovation of the ranch house. She also accepted Victor’s invitation for her and Kyle to move into the carriage house, and carried on with Nick after hours. But after Diane was caught by Victor too often at Nick’s, Nick told Diane he wanted to be just friends. Later the same evening, Diane and Victor became lovers again. But unable to resist Nick, she often returned to his bed as well. Victor spotted Diane necking with Nick, so Victor called her away to the Valentines benefit at Gloworm, where he presented a large donation to the puppy love fund and declared Diane the woman in his life while Nick, Nikki, and Deacon looked on.

holy cow - just how many houses are on that ranch LOL

no reason for them to move into the main house if she's so concerned about how it looks to kyle which is just her way of saying she's concerned how it looks to nick
