You know I forgot that Easter was coming up in April and they never have rates for that with AP. I guess I am afraid that with all the cutbacks, that they won't be offering the good deals like they were. Especially since I figured rates for May/June would be out by now (and they'd be "closed" next month) But then again they might to help draw in more business. I saw that rate for $109 at the moderates. Not bad at all! I think last year at the time I went they were about $79 (give or take $10) and if I need to cut back on my trip, I will book at DxL or CSR. Or I have some hotels on the Hotel Blvd Plaza scoped out. Oh yeah that was a good deal I saw on one of those for $60/night in Sept I think... I think it was the Grosvenor. I would do that if I needed to.

Julian stayed home today as he has a fever. I'm hoping that's all he'll have. I let Jonathan stay home 1 more day, too. His asthma has been acting up (because of this pukey bug) and I thought he could use one more day.

I just had a 2 hour and 15 minute commute home. Normally it is 35 minutes. There was a massive 50-100 car pileup on Rt 95 near the MA/RI border. Road is closed until after 7pm because they cannot clear the site. My main route home (Rt 24) had a massive pile up (30+ cars) and that was closed at the exit I need to get off at. So off to the backroads, along with EVERYONE else who had been re-routed.

ACK ACK ACK I had to pull over 2x to chip the ice off my wipers.

I think I might have to go have a hot chocolate with Bailey's. I deserve it, doncha think?

Yeah Dave, normal DC commute, with a little slip slidin away thrown in for good measure. I went to school in DC, and I have seen rush hour there, and I agree with you. But then throw in the fact I had to keep stopping to chip the ice off my wipers, and it was just yuckky.

Deb! I was wondering if you were caught in that! Thankfully you're home and hoepfully taking comfort with that hot choc/Bailey's.

I was driving 15 mph through the tight residential section here-was only noon- slowed to make a turn at the intersection, stepped on the brakes...stepped harder...then, all the way ...nothing happened! I continued to oh so gracefully slide right into the intersection...thankfully no one was coming in either direction. Snow.

Oh, who IS the NITWIT SISTER (did you already tell us?)...is it gemmie214?

Oh and reading Beth's sig...she and DaveH are practically still newlyweds!!! Awwwww.

Jana is not a nitwit. I am not a nitwit. Here is the explanation:

Is indeed Gemmie214. The more we talk, the more we find that we have in common. I mentioned that I did something yesterday, and called myself a nitwit. Jana agreed with me, and said she would have done the exact same thing, so "What did that make her?" I replied to her that we must have been Nitwit sisters separated at birth, and she agreed. No malice, no disparagement, nothing mean. It is truly like we are related, or were related in a previous life or something. It's kind of fun actually.

I was no where near any of the really heinous accidents, but got to deal with all the ripple effect stuff. Since all 3 major routes that head south in MA were closed at some point today, all the secondary roads were packed. With real nitwits who have seemingly forgotten how to drive in this slop. OK--rant off.
