Hi everyone. Another sick Ya Ya reporting in. Went to the dr today & got my meds, but still feel icky. Just need to give them time to get in there and do their stuff.

I tried to do a ketchup, but, hokey smokes.... ya'll are mothy!! I did catch a few things.... Something about a pepper incident... burning fingers.... somebody was hot... Kim telling me to truuusssttt her (is it me or did she sound like Kaa when she said it? That or she's using the Jedi Mind Trick )... Rosie & Hildey off on a DL trip... some of you are getting snow... others are warm... something about Yanni... something about Riverdance.... I know I read more, but this bug has my brain in a fog. Quick, someone post something that I can take out of context. We'll see how well my brain works on these meds.

Kim, I'm sooooo glad to hear the meds are helping! Are you hugging your pillow or sheet thing when you cough? I know about the sore sides from coughing.......not a good thing. Hope it all continues to ease up on you. It's time for Kimmie to get back in the swing of things!

Elaine, I like what I have heard of Yanni. I don't buy music, so I am not familiar with a lot of his stuff, but I liked the CD a friend played for me once.

Karen, it's so good to hear that today was better. I am still trying to figure out how you can eat 6 "meals" a day and only consume 800-900 calories. What are you eating that keeps your calorie count so low??!!!

Debbie, I sent you a PM. Went shopping for the soldiers tonight! I like Colin Dunne better, too. Saw "Lord of the Dance" a few years ago--front row seats and Flatley's body language just screamed ARROGANT!!! I had already heard the story, but wanted to see it anyway.....I can't get enough Celtic music!

I have seen Riverdance 3 times in Boston, once with M. Flately, and twice with Colin Dunne. I much prefer Colin as well. I also saw Lord of the Dance as well, and did not like it nearly as much. Not as much flow, not as much continuity, and ARROGANT is the word.

I just found out that my way to work has been closed. The bridge over part of the river collapsed today because of the extreme weather we've had. No big deal as I can cross the river at another place and take another way in. I just hope I remember to turn earlier

Kim--it is amazing in person. And considering I am the world's biggest klutz, I have even more respect for them. My poor mother and grandmother had me taking Irish dance lessons for years, and I was HOPELESS. But I adore the music, and the dance. I definitely like 'veritable encyclopedia' as opposed to 'geek of the highest magnitude' Hee hee

Beth I have only been eating three meals a day plus a treat at night. GP suggested five meals a day but I havent been able to do that yet. Ive been having too many stomach problems. Today I was close to doubling over at work and had to call the doctor it was so bad.

My normal way of eating is cereal with skim milk and strawberries or a banana for breakfast, a sandwhich with lite bread and fruit for lunch and 3-4 oz of meat 1/2 a cup of veggies, and 1/2 a cup of rice for dinner, and then of course my icecream sandwhich low fat treat. For me this is a LOT of food. I normally only ate one meal a day before BUT it was calorie and fat laden which kept me at my higher weight. I wasnt gaining but I wasnt losing. I have managed to get the cal count up to 1000 the past couple of days though.

Jay I am so sorry you are sick. Healing pixie dust being sent your way.

Kim I am SO glad to hear you are feeling a little better. Ive been worried about you!

Michele I hope the headache goes away very quickly for you.

Speaking of Riverdance.... I know they had a show at the New York, New York hotel in Vegas, but it closed way back in last July (actually the week I was there. No, I didn't go). But rumor is that a replacement show is at one of the downtown casino/hotels and drawing huge crowds.

Ahhhh, another Riverdance-inspired anecdote...grew up with some VERY Irish neighbors, brogues and everything. One particular family my parents would leave me and my brother with when they went out would sometimes have to take their own kids(my age) to jigging lessons with all the other Irish kiddies. Now, we live in such multicultural times, but back then...not so much. Now, do you think that they'd let this non-Irish, chopstick-wielding, Yaya-in-training just sit and watch...oh nOOOOOOO! Up I went, knees snapping, arms akimbo,skippety-skipping amidst all the red-heads and freckles...I swear, I was MAGNIFICENT !!! I can't understand what everyone was laughing about tho.
