Disclaimer: This trip was terrible, but that had NOTHING to do with anything Disney. The staff was amazing throughout our trip. Our accommodations at the WL were wonderful. The weather was terribly hot, but that's Florida in June.
You may be wondering why the trip was so bad. It didn't have anything to do with travelling with my sister and her 3 1/2 year old son. That actually provided some rather comical moments over the course of our time in the World.
The reason the trip was so completely awful, and the reason I have stayed away from these boards for so long, was because I had just found out I was expecting our first baby a week before we left for Disney. Overjoyed at the prospect of having a baby, I hadn't realized morning sickness could set in so quickly and change my life (not for the better)for the next two and a half months.
After experiencing Disney very early in my pregnancy, I would advise anyone in the same situation to cancel the trip. If it would have been my husband and me making the trip, we would have taken whatever loss we had to take. I would not have gone.
I know that when our little guy is old enough to appreciate the magic, I owe my sister and her son a make up trip.
Stay tuned for all the awful (and funny) details.

I was at WDW with horrible morning sickness once also. We had booked the trip months in advance so I had no idea I would be pregnant. I pretty much just stayed in the room while everyone else did the parks. I couldn't keep any food down and it was definitely one of the worst times of my life. What could be worse than being at WDW and not being able to do anything? :(

Sounds very familiar to me...We found out I was expecting one week before a long-planned trip back in November 2002. There's nothing quite like riding that boat to the Magic Kingdom while newly pregnant, is there?

Oh no! I've never experienced WDW while pregnant, but I have been pregnant four times. I can't imagine navigating the parks with morning sickness. How awful for you!

Oh you poor thing :(

My cousin was just telling me about the trip she took to Vegas after finding out she was pregnant. She wasn't even able to leave her hotel room.

Oh you poor thing! I can't imagine being at Disney with terrible morning sickness. I wish you all the best for a great pregnancy and a great future trip with your child and your sis and her son!

I can empathize with you. I went when I was 2 months pregnant and spent many days in bed and the rest feeling lousy on our 14 night stay at Wilderness Cabins.
When I did manage to go to the parks I couldn't wait to get into someplace cool and dark only to fall asleep. I had morning sickness and more 24/7.

Some people are so lucky if they don't get all this!

{HUGS} to better days ahead!

I feel your pain! I went on a choir tour to London while 2 1/2 months pregnant, with 24/7 "morning" sickness. The trip had been booked and paid for long before I knew I was pregnant. I was so miserable!

Oh, boy, can I sympathize!! There is no way I could've done Disney when I was pregnant~not at any time during the 9 months. "Morning" sickness24/7 for 9 months was almost too much for me!! Most likely, DS will be an only! What I remember most about being pregnant was my head in the toilet... bless your heart, I sure hope yours has disappated by now!! People say to me all the time (people who had NO morning sickness, I might add!!), "But wasn't he worth it?" Yes, he was, most definitely. But that does not mean that I've FORGOTTEN how miserable I was~and he's getting close to 3 now!!!;)

Oh my. I barely made it through my day just laying in my bed when I was pregnant. My one friend says it's like I have shell shock. I hear certain songs and smells and it all comes back to me. And it has been 5 years now. It was the worst time of my life. 24/7 throwing up. I never felt good at all during. When I finally had her I was sooooo happy. I think mine's going to be an only too.

I feel for ya. And than there's those who never felt better then when they were pregnant. Those people should be shot. JK!!!!:p

Pregnant too 14 years ago when I went to Disneyland... I didn't know it at the time... I was only about 4 to 5 weeks along... however, I was very sick with a "back-of-the-throat" infection and was having a hard time with that... I finally went to the doctor for some medicine while on vacation... even though I was sick, I went on Splash Mountain 8 or 9 times... (I still didn't know I was pregnant)... but guess what his favorite ride is now?... SPLASH MOUNTAIN... lol... I do hope you will feel better soon... I never had morning sickness, but I know it's not fun... take care

YOU GUYS ARE SCARING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
STOP IT THIS INSTANT!
I leave for Disney on Saturday and I'm 6 weeks pregnant and traveling with an 8 month old!
I experienced no morning sickness with my son but I'm SO paranoid about getting it the second time around. I'm one of those people who can forge ahead through any kind of pain except an upset tummy. I turn into a huge baby and want to do nothing but whine and lie down.
I really hope I stay sickness free this pregnancy...
Diana

Supposedy the nausea is because the pregnancy hormone progesterone lowers the blood sugar.

So anything to keep blood sugar level should help. small snacks that include protein, easy on the refined sugar, remember to eat.

Worst thing that happened pregnant was that i started to blackout while shopping because i hadn't finished even half of a lean cuisine lunch. Begged a kid to go to the grocery store next door and buy me a carton of milk.(and gave him the money of course)

Wish i had a baby to look forward to but i am done, done, done.

LOL...don't be scared. You won't be sick at all. I just checked your aura and you will have another pregnancy without morning sickness!

I guess you're one of the lucky ones that way...but how's your lower back? Be good to yourself and get enough rest! Remember, lift from the knees.

I hear 'ya....
My little one is 14 now and I swore up and down that I would never go through 9 mos of morning sickness again and I didn't. She's a wonderful young lady now and I wouldn't trade her for the world however; I just felt terrible day and night. We've taken numerous Disney trips with her but I can't imagine doing all that walking and riding being that sick. I sure hope medical science has come up with some remedy to made these gals feel better; back in '89 all I got was oral compazine (sp?) and it wouldn't stay down long enough to work.

Thankfully you are home now and resting up; just keep thinking about all of the great trips you'll have in the future with you little one and you'll feel better :)

You are a trooper! I couldn't imagine being sick and miserable, out and about--and walking in the sun with the smell of different foods in the air! Ugh! I had an absolutely perfect pregnancy with my son 11 years ago, but my daughter, 3 years ago was an entirely different story. I had morning sickness from 5 weeks through the delivery (and she was a week late!!!). When I first got morning sickness, I tried crackers before getting out of bed, ginger, motion sickness bands, and my doctor even suggested sleeping pills (Unisom) because something in it that apparently helps curb morning sickness. However, none of it worked for me. Finally, my doctor found 1 medicine that made it more bearable, although it didn't completely cure it...Zofran. It's a medicine that's given to chemotherapy patients so they can eat soon after a session of treatment. If it's really bad, I'd ask your doctor about it.
I hope you find something that works, and feel better shortly!!! Just keep in mind the wonderful little one that's at the end of it all.... they do make it all worth it! ::yes::

Just to add to my previous post...DO NOT take anything for your morning sickness before clearing it with your doctor FIRST!!!
