Let me preface this by saying ... While staying at POFQ this past week, we rarely had to share a bus with Riverside and the wait was never longer than 20 minutes.
On the evening of Thursday, December 23rd, 2010 my family and I rode the boat into Downtown Disney. After a while of walking around, I started not feeling so well. My parents headed back on the boat, while my daughter and I went to Planet Hollywood for a late dinner. After dinner, we decided to take the bus back rather than walk back around to catch the boat, as it was cold and windy out. As we waited maybe 10 minutes for a bus, I was still feeling sick to my stomach. Once on the bus, we were informed that it would also be stopping at Saratoga Springs and Riverside ... French Quarter would be the last stop. Eventually, I felt as though we were nearing Downtown Disney again, and I asked my daughter if we missed our stop. Just then, a gentleman from the back of the bus walked up to the bus driver to inform him that he had forgotten to stop at POFQ. By now we were back at Downtown Disney, and the bus driver was insisting that he had stopped at POFQ, while 17 of us were arguing with him that he hadn't! Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), this bus was switching routes so we all had to get off and go stand at the bus stop again. While waiting, we complained to the transportation guy who reported him for us. Thankfully, I was able to hold my cookies through the second bus ride full of turns and stops too. Although he couldn't switch the route to drop us of first, our new bus driver was nice to drop us all off at the front door of POFQ. All said and done, it took over an hour and 15 minutes from the time we stepped onto the first bus to the time we stepped off of the second bus. I will never forget that drivers face!

sorry you had one bad bus ride. dont let one bad driver stop you from using disney transportion mybe he had a bad day. It no excuse to arguing with guests he should of just said that he is sorry and made a mistake not that it would of made up but would of showed that he cared he made the mistake. mybe when he went to river side he just got mixed up and thought that it was pofq not relizing that he had to pofg to make the rest of the stops. it sounds like the second driver was trying t make it up and was nice to drop you off at the front gate he was proberly told by the other transportion cm you talked to go the extra mile.

Are you still at Walt Disney World? Go talk to a Manager/Supervisor at the front desk of your resort. Don't call, go. Give them as much detail as possible - time, date, driver description (even name) if you can. That's ridiculous.

Each resort contracts for transportation services. Your resort management WANTS to know if there are problems, truly.

By "worst bus ride" did you mean you were desperately trying to hold it down and therefore being upset at the time it took to get to the resort? Since you were feeling nauseous you should have fasted.

With so many projectile vomiting incidents reported in recent weeks I wonder whether I should declare that it is kosher to go ahead and do it in the bushes or into a storm drain while waiting for the next bus.

There is also a significant chance you will feel better after vomiting.

Several years ago I was on a bus, now I forget where I boarded or where I was going. The bus went to All Star Music and someone told the driver he skipped All Star Sports. The driver replied he would stop at 'Sports next. Then, leaving 'Music he headed to Downtown Disney and someone told him he skipped 'Sports again. The driver said he would have to finish his trip to DTD and then come back to 'Sports.

Unfortunately, we checked out on Monday.
I don't think that any of us got the bus drivers name, but we pointed him out to a transportation guy as he drove by ... Hopefully he reported him for us.

Well, that stinks. It seems like it's always later in the evening when these types of things happen. I think the drivers get tired. Sorry, you felt so bad by the time it was all over with.

Not to belittle the OP's experience, but I think the worst bus ride EVER was had by the guy who was run over in the POFQ parking lot by one last Sunday.

You are braver than me! The very last thing I would do if I were feeling nauseous would be to take a bus . I think a cab would have been a better choice in your situation.

I'm sorry that your driver forgot to drop off at POFQ. He must have had that "going back to the bus barn" mentality and was in a hurry to get off shift and it slipped his mind.

I had a really bad bus experience a few years ago. We were headed to POP from the MK. It was my DD's birthday and we were heading back "home" to get dressed to head back to the GF for her birthday dinner. The bus driver ended up going to the Sports complex and then realized she was in the wrong place but took a wrong turn out, wandered around a bit and we ended up over on 192! We came back via Sherbeth Road near AK and finally got back to the resort more than an hour after we left the MK. We were late for our reservation and POP arranged for a ride to the GF for us so we could still eat dinner.

I know that when I was at WDW in early Dec, there were several times that we heard of a driver getting 'turned around' while driving. One driver was telling us how he simply forgot which route he was on and went to FtW and WL..instead of BW..poor guy. Good thing he had only 4 guests on board and they actually kind of like the guided tour!!! He said he was very appreciative of their attitudes.
He also said that the new system makes it hard to sometimes remember where you are supposed to be going. It used to be that routes were pretty similar all day long..now it changes constantly. At least that's what he told us...Magicbus can correct me if that's not correct.

Sorry you were not feeling good that day but I am having trouble following your logic. You were sick but you still managed to go to Planet Hollywood? Then you waited for a bus?

I've been sick on vacation before and I just go back to my hotel.

Wow sorry that sounds worse than ours. We had the slowest bus driver in the world one time. I swear it seemed he wouldn't go over 15mph.

"COPOUT"
There is no valid excuse for going to the wrong destination. Have I done it, kinda. Caught mysef before I got there. Reason, not paying attention. It happens.

Oh come on now...you've never found yourself headed to a completely different resort?? I have a feeling the bus driver in question was having a nice conversation with his guests. Ah well.

As I said, yes, but I caught myself. Later than I woud have liked. I was supposed to be going to DHS and headed for the MK. Only one guest said anything. I complemented him on being alert.
I got distracted by a guest that had given me a hard time because I told him his monster scooter was oversize and he couldn't bring it on the bus. So instead of looking at the computer display that said DHS, I just headed for my hub, wrong.

Bus malfunctioning?

Forgetfulness together with just being assigned to a new route can result in going the wrong way. I have read many histories of transit lines and transit systems and there is usually at least one anecdote of a driver going the wrong way, usually something that is more than a minor inconvenience such as driving an electric bus and out from under the trolley wires.

Typical resolution, give everyone transfers as they get off the bus. Now they did have to walk back to where the driver made the wrong turn and wait for the next bus.

Bus malfunctioning?
Probaby not.

I don't think so. There is a computer display showing the next destination. Except for certain assignments, it's a new route. And if you don't know how to get there, you can get directions from the computer. If there is a screw up, it's the person behind the wheels fault.

Is it that you like mk better then dhs everyone needs to rember that the bus drivers are human and sometimes make a mistake like everyone else dose. Their no robot bus drivers yet but I am sure theirs drivers that can do the robot.

Have to ask...do those computers ever fail or simply do 'down'?? We hear so many instances of drivers going in the wrong direction that I have to wonder if they have come to rely on the computers too much..and then, if there were to be a malfunction, they had trouble finding their way.
I know that my son depends on gps waaaay too much. His wife says he has no idea how to get around Tampa without it.
