for the week after Easter Sunday... Friends of our wish to visit us for 2 days while we are there. So today I tried to find them a room for one night....only a few suites left at CSR and Poly and nothing else...tried online and the phone....

These disney beginners are the death of me....

So, Now I'm waitlisted for a DVC room for one night and I'm going to get them info on offsite stuff that still has room...

Well, I guess it will be wall to wall. :crowded: Hope to get a peek at the Zurg family. I'll have my LYMI pin on. Now I need a Badshoe one.

Keep trying. Many people will overbook (I have an extra room right now for May and did have for February) while people make up their minds. Check at 7 am when they clear the day before's cancellations.

I tried to book a flight for a business trip from MCO to PIT on Friday April 1 and almost all of the non-stop flights were soldout. It's only 1 night, so I am probably going to change it to Wednesday to Thursday instead. Thursday has flights available.

I plan to keep trying...I'm hoping in a few more weeks there might be some openings...and it's just one night so I think I might have a chance at DVC room....

Sometimes it can be difficult to get a room for just one night. Often, if you ask for multiple nights including the date you are looking for, there is availability, but it won't show up for just one of the nights.

How about the Swan or Dolphin? When I search on the D/U website, it shows availability at both resorts for all days except Wed and Thurs of Easter week. Friday, 4/1 was only $159!!!

We arrive on 4/1, hope this doesn't mean it'll be a zoo!

Just so you know, the week before and after Easter are typically two of our busiest weeks of the year. Resorts are usually at 100% occupancy, parks fill to capacity, etc...

I'm thinking of crying for a while. We'll be there the week before Easter. I knew it would be crowded, but not 100% occupancy. I'm starting to not want to go at all.

Thanks for posting this. Hopefully folks will listen to someone of authority like yourself. This is exactly why I never go during this timeframe or anywhere near it. I have relatives who decided to go during this time and I didn't even want to give them any advice because there is nothing I can say to help them.

I still haven't gotten over my early December trip. I remember once upon a time when early December use to be quiet. We booked a 4 day trip a couple of months ago (Dec. 10-13). When the resorts were at capacity that should have been my first warning. Then when MGM reached capacity I knew I had made a mistake. I still have bad dreams. We went again in January, and it was a little better. I have to admit though, there are hardly any slow times in WDW now. Weekends are always bad, we even avoid the parks on weekends. Our next trip will be at Pop for 16 days. We will be there to kick off the 50th anniversary celebration!!!

:grouphug: I feel for you!!

This is our Spring Break week and we dont get another chance until summer.
I too am saddened by this news. I do not do well when it is really crowded.
I am glad this isnt my first trip, and I have many PS's that I have never done.

This would be a good time to "stop and smell the roses" and see and look at things rather than wait in lines all day. Oh, Oh, Oh, maybe now I can shop alot!!
(hee hee)

I tried to book ASMu the week of 4/17 and ended up in POP. Apparently WDW is going to be pretty full that week too. As I plan to stay far away from MK, though, I'm not too worried. ;)

We're at POFQ 3/24-30 at an AP rate. As usual, I got the itch to check on availability for the Deluxe resorts, if any AP rates available--Really didn't expect any. However, YC std room was available for the whole time at AP rate (271) a night. I took it. Really surprised that anything available for this period at AP.

Am nervous about crowds as we've only been in off seasons before but in a way, am also excited to see everything in full swing, late nights, etc. But that was another factor in deciding to switch. With the YC location, there are a lot of dining and transportation options. The cost is much much more but I think I'll be happier with the location.

See everyone there!!!!

I think every wait in line will be at least 2 hours. Everyone planning to go for spring break should stay home.

That way we won't have to wait so long in line! :smooth:

We went at Easter time a couple years ago and it was crowded, but the parks are open later, there are usually more parades, fireworks etc. so we still got to do everything we wanted to do. Maybe we didn't get to ride ToT more than a couple times, but we still had a great time. Now I wouldn't recommend someone going Easter week for their first ever visit cause they'd probably never go back, but if you've been there before, slow down and enjoy all the things you usually miss cause you're in commando mode doing the parks!

You're at WDW, in Florida for Spring Break. How bad can it be?

We did Christmas /New Year in 2003/2004 went slow and still did tons....so I figure Easter will be very similar but just a little warmer...
