The World is almost totally Booked

We are going april 3 through 8 -that is me and my two dd's. i guess if the parks are real bad we'll just relax at the pool. There's no sense worrying about crowds at this point. I go through my dd's lists of "must do's" and make sure we hit those early or try during parade times, etc. I will be stressed enough being by myself for the first time on vacation with my two dds!

I just looked at touringplans.com and they show the week before and after as being slow, with 3"s-6"s on some days (on a 1-10 scale of how busy the parks will be)with the Saturday a 9 and Sunday a 10. How can that be right if the resorts are at 100% occupancy? :confused3

We did Christmas /New Year in 2003/2004 went slow and still did tons....so I figure Easter will be very similar but just a little warmer...
I'm joining you too (at SSR/BWV). I figure we will do 4 hrs in am ...lazy lunch..pool...lazy dinner and stay up late, and ride, ride , ride!!!! The best thing it will be wwarm enough for a good time at the pool!!!

Just to let you know - many people, such as our family, may choose to change their reservations closer to travel time. For example, we're staying at POR Mar 29-31, RPR @IOA Apr 1 for FOTL, then back to POR Apr 2-4. Just haven't called WDW res. yet. Keep trying - you never know what might come available.

The very first time that we went, it was the week after Easter. The crowds were absolutely nuts!! I had trouble the next year convincing my husband to go back. But he did for our kids. We went in July. Another time of year that has high crowds. But July is nothing compared to Easter. July even seems uncrowded to me. It is our choice for time of year to go. I look as if this was a blessing because now July seems really nice. :goodvibes

We went this past july and the heat got to us ..made the crowds seem 10x's worse even though I knew there were less people then at Christmas/New Years.

Well I've gotten them ressie at a DTD hotel if all else fails...

Oh yes! I was there last July -- first time going during the summer. NEVER AGAIN! I was miserable. Can you believe it??!! ME miserable in WDW! ;)

Good luck getting a room for your last-minute friends. I'm sure in the least you can get a place in DTD. Did you try places like Expedia or Travelocity? Sometimes you can get a deal on a room with the number they have blocked off. THough I'm sure you thought about almost everything. ANyone trying to unload a room on the DVC rental board?

Hi, this is my first post! Have you looked into the wedding/vow renewal section? Couples are asked to block a certain amount of room nights during their wedding/vow renewal week for their guests. I would offer you my room block (ASM & CS)but ours is for Easter week (our room block is from March 16 -22).

We are booked at disneyworld from 3/13-3/16 and then the cruise from 3/17-3/20 and back home on the 22nd. I hear alot of people talking about the week before easter so what date is that? Are my dates just before the crowds hit or during? I had not realized when easter was this year. If I had, I would of booked a week earlier but it is too late to make changes. Even a couple of months ago the prices to change jumped $1000 to go a week earlier. I booked this a year ago!

Easter is March 27th this year, so you look to be okay as far as your dates are concerned. Looks like you're going to be in the world a couple of weeks before Easter. :goodvibes

After the year we have had we feel we need to get away. I cant believe we still have to dodge debris and look at blue roofs. Crowded or not we are going to be there 3-19 to 3-24 :cool1: at the Port Orleans Riverside.

I tried to book ASMu the week of 4/17 and ended up in POP. Apparently WDW is going to be pretty full that week too. As I plan to stay far away from MK, though, I'm not too worried. ;)

ASMu is available as of 4/18 (I didn't try the 17th). We're going 4/18-4/26 and I have been checking availability for those dates for awhile and every hotel shows up with availability (except BC, it keeps giving me OKW instead).

I wanted to book for 4/20-4/23. Maybe there are rooms, but not at AAA rate? While I love ASMu, this will be a chance to try something different - though I'm trying to resist the lure of eventually staying in every WDW resort!

Us too. I'm wondering if the massive crowds will already be there or if they arrive Easter weekend. {{Hoping they come Easter weekend and the week after...but not really believing it's true.}}

Yeah, the # of rooms with AAA discount available is less than the total rooms available. We were able to get the AAA rate at the Poly or WL for our stay (didn't check any others), but ended up using a postcard rate for AKL and CR.

FWIW, I have stayed at ASMu twice and Pop once, and I loved Pop. I liked ASMu too, but unless you have a preferred room, the walk can be a hike, but at Pop, everything seemed to be in a great location. And the options in the food court were great!

I have only been to wdw 4 times. Each time was Apr school vacation in MA. Only once was is awful and that was a Sunday at MK around Easter. We left and went to another park. I don't know what it is like w/o crowds. I have never stood in line longer than 20 min. Always use FP. We are going again this yr. I guess the crowds may be a little better as it will be about a month after Easter. Don't worry. Have a plan and you will have fun. If we had just been wandering around it would have been tough. Plan, go left for everything. Get your FP asap. Get to the park at opening. Rest at the resort at noon. Go back and have a ball. Look for the magic. :wizard:
