The Woman Report- Update 4/24 Final Thoughts p. 74

You also forgot to mention we were all starving, it was only 11 am when we arrived in our room, and you started "nesting" like a pregnant crow. Had to have everything "just so" and put away. You couldn't rest until that was done. :headache:

Great update...but I really laughed at Buzz's comment!!!:rotfl2:

I have to admit. I do the same as LTP...

First!

Sounds like you had a great first meal, even if you can't remember what you ate. :rotfl:

And I can understand the contact problem you were having. I have an astigmatism and wear the monthly contacts as well. I usually can stretch mine out to 2-3 months for each pair, but when they start hurting, it's time to throw them out. The last time I went to the eye doctor, they tried to get me to switch to a different brand, but they hurt my eyes too bad. Oh well, you gotta use what works for you!

Can't wait to hear about the mean lifeguards...

Ooooh, they were so mean!! Not gud.

Ugh. I hate stinging contacts.

Me too!! :headache:

I'm too much of a chicken to wear contacts and this post just made me even more so, those contacts sound painful. :scared:

I don't like contacts, and it's very dry in MT which makes it worse. I wear glasses all the time, except on vacay or when Buzz & I have a date night. (like we're doing tomorrow!!)

Butting in, but I think it's called a "boot"

That would be awesome, Linnie! Thanks in advance

You're welcome! I hope it turns out. :rolleyes1

Oops! I thought this was Jodi's TR as there were no pictures

:rotfl: I mean- Hey! (Buzz's patented Hey!)

DM said:
Sorry about your eye. Rob has astigmatism in one of his eyes and refuses to wear the glasses he's supposed to. I get mad as him squinching his eyes and nose every so often to see somewhat.

Was Trey upset he didn't get his Tinkerbell sunglasses? I know my kids would be mad if they picked out a pair and then I didn't get it for them.

I'd get my eyes that laser surgery, but I'm too scared to do that.

Trey didn't care at all. My kids are weird but I mean this in a good way. When we shop, if they want something and I say no, they just go, "Ok" and put it back. :confused3 Neither has ever, not ever had a fit over not getting something. It's eerie.... And as a kid, I totally threw fits if I didn't get something I wanted. I still do. Just ask Buzz.

Sounds like a good start to your vacay! That's hilarious that LG thought part of the room was missing I'm glad you were able to get the sunglasses, but poor MB I hope the mean lifeguards didn't wreck your pool time! :headache:

They actually did-I'll write more about that later. It was frustrating.

Gud job woman. You nailed it.

You had rotated chicken and I had steak. We both had a second glass of wine (It's vacation). I switched from beer cuz I tasted yours and it was yummy.

We cheersed a couple times
10.gif
and let out large sighs of relief. We were on vacation! :)

"We unpack just enough to change into shorts." Go back and read it again. The ninja nesting happened after swimming.

What's "rotated chicken"? :lmao:

I read that as "roasted" chicken.

We call a trunk a boot and the hood is a bonnet, weird huh

Ah! I think I've heard that before! I read a lot of books by Maeve Binchy and I think that's what she calls them too. And gasoline, they call that "petrol."

LOL about LG. The kids asked us the same thing the first time we went to WDW, since we usually stay in timeshares.

Did trey end up getting sunglasses?

I hope your eye was OK! HHBG ended up getting awa from wearing contacts, and went back to glasses, but his eyes used to get really bad at night.

I hope LG is better to sleep with than my little girl!

He didn't. We kept saying we'd get them later, but we never did. Nice parents huh! He forgot about them actually.

There's more to come on the eye thing...

LA is not gud to sleep with. Trey is worse-more to come on that too.

Now, that makes a lot more sense LOL I was wondering if the chicken was turned around or doing a "Linda Blair" :scared1:

:lmao:

Linnie, just wanted to let you know that I got your postcard in the mail today. I love it, totally cute! :flower3:

Thanks! That took a long time. I wasn't sure if one stamp would do it or not! I dropped it in the box and Buzz says, "Did you put enough stamps on it?" Uh, too late now. He's always good for stuff like that.

Hilarious :rotfl2: I feel sorry for her future DH though as she'll expect a big room everytime :rotfl2:

My DH wears his for longer then near a vacation he keeps a few old pairs and wears them whilst swimming or at the water parks so it doesn't matter if they get lost :thumbsup2

My DD has needed aldult glasses since she was about 8, big head :rotfl2: At least in DL they'd do cute adult ones, hope he found some :goodvibes

Oooo popcorn::

I never thought of that-she probably will!!

That's a great idea!! I need to see the eye dr. again. I think I'll steal that idea.

My kids both had big heads. Trey's worried the doctor a little, but LA's grew so fast she was not even in any percentile ranking. We did and ultrasound and an MRI on it because they were so worried, but she was normal. Just big headed. Part of the problem was I have a small head so the doctor would look at me and get worried about them with their big heads. I tried to assure him my in-laws have giant melons. I even brought in pictures so he could see.

That's hilarious because that's what happened to me! DD6 had such a large head at birth (thus the need for a c-section) and then it just kept growing and growing and growing. They had me bring her in multiple times for "head checks." All I wanted to do is bring my DH in with me -- then they could see where she got it from! He has big problems finding a hat to fit. A regular baseball cap doesn't work for him! Glad to hear someone else has had this problem!

So, what does it mean that my boys got their honkin' huge melons - from me?! I have the absolute worst time trying to find a hat (a non-baseball cap hat ) that doesn't squish my noggin!

Both my boys were born with huge heads (yeah, ouchies!) and huge feet - both born with size 2 feet :rotfl2: I had to give away all the infant hats, infant socks and infant shoes to friends & family, not to mention I had to donate all the newborn size diapers we bought the first time :rotfl:

Long-winded reply, but just wanted you to know that I can empathasize and sympathize :goodvibes

Good to know it wasn't just us!! Buzz's got a big melon head. He calls my head a "Bert head" so of course, his is the "Ernie head."

I had a hard time in labor with LA because of her big head. I ended up having a C-section. She was 8 lb. 9 oz. The little "going home from the hospital" outfit barely fit her by the time we left.

She had this cute little fuzzy onsie coat thing (I forget what you call them- pram suits maybe? See, Jo, I got some Brit words down!;) Isn't a pram the same thing as a stroller?)

Anyway, when my nephew (then 6) saw her, he said, "She looks cute in her little lamb costume." :goodvibes

Yep we call gas Petrol :thumbsup2

Have you told the inlaws what you think? :rotfl2:

Uh, no. I just hope they don't ever find these boards or I'm a dead duck! :lmao:

I was pretty well pickled up by that point so the memory is a little hazy.

Typical.

So, you grow 'em big too, hey? LOL Ds#1 was a miniscule 8lbs-2ozs, compared to ds#2 at 9lbs-6oz :lmao: I think a pram is more like a baby carriage than a stroller - baby is lying down flat and the part that holds the baby is much higher than on a regular stroller - if that makes any sense whatsoever :rotfl:

Awww, little lamb :lovestruc Sweet! So, I guess you didn't take any future blackmail pictures like we did of our darlings in hats with rooster combs on top, hats with bunny years, etc.?

We just call them a snowsuit or all in one :confused3 And see Lisa's answer :thumbsup2

Are you sure you're not secretly English :rotfl2: Oh and we mostly call a stroller a pushchair or buggy!

Well, I'm British by association - my best friend has lived in London for the last 18 years :rotfl2: She calls her daughter's pram a pushchair too LOL Not to mention alllllll those nappies :lmao: Canadians still use many words with British origins - there's a reason we speak "the Queen's English" ;)

I will admit that I had no bloody idea what she was talking about when she was telling me about how cute the "all in one" she just purchased was - it took a minute for me to realize she was talking about a "onesie"

I wish I was British - then we could move there and travel all of Europe on the weekend, like my best friend used to do pre-baby! :goodvibes

LeeAndra comes running back out yelling, “There’s something wrong with our room! It’s not all there! Where’s the rest of it???” :confused3

:rotfl2:

From our previous trips to DLR, I don’t remember anything about Downtown Disney except Wetzel’s Pretzels, which we ate for lunch nearly everyday.

:thumbsup2 Loved this place when we were there and was quite happy when they opened one in WDW.

Next up: The first of our encounters with the Mean Lifeguards!!

Uh ohpopcorn::

that is why I could never do contacts. Poking something in my eye and then having pain sometimes. No thanks.

Is that why there were no pictures??

The restaurant sounds nice. Cheerleaders do not.

uh-oh mean lifeguards, :scared1:

Kids with their PJ's holding the chart is cute. Love kids in PJ's.
Funny what LeeAndra said about the room.:rotfl2:
Ouch about the contacts. I might get lazer surgery one day. Still a little scary to me too.
LOVE the moment on vacation when you actually realize you are on vacation.:cloud9:
Wow, too bad about the Life Guards.popcorn::

One of my kids' head was so big at around 6 months that the pediatrician measured both D & I. Apparently we have big heads, too. :sad2: :rotfl:

We had a Dr. ordered C-Section because they thought our DS was going to be way over 10lbs. they were very wrong. He just had a BIG head, which is the measurement they use to estimate weight on a sonogram.

That's what happened to me too, but aren't you glad they did it? I know that I am. After she came out with a 95th percentile head, I was glad that I didn't have to deliver that! And the second c-section was nothing... :rotfl:

Yes, my wife was very happy with the C-sec. I liked being able to schedule the delivery, instead of always wondering when/where. It was very helpful to my anal-retentive mannerisms.
