The Woman Report- Update 4/24 Final Thoughts p. 74

I have to say, LeeAndra is one of the funniest people I've ever encountered in my life. And not just because she's my daughter. She's just hilarious. I used to call my dad all the time and tell him about the funny things she did b/c he just loved it and he'd just roar. He had a huge laugh and loved to hear about his granddaughter.

My parents have 4 grandkids-3 boys and 1 girl. One day, my nephew asked my dad, "How come LeeAndra gets to do whatever she wants and doesn't get in trouble??" And my dad's response was, "Because she's the only girl!"

She was the apple of his eye. Buzz thinks she reminded him of me and that's probably true.

I'm racking my brain to think of the other funny things she says, but I just can't think of any right now. My MIL said to me once, "You must just laugh all day long." And I do. It's great! :cloud9:

I thought of one but this might not come across as funny as it actually was at the time. A few years ago, I was in the garage doing something and LA was in bed. She'd gotten up and found me and said (she was totally serious), "Mom, I went to sleep last night and the Sleeping Germs got me!!" I said, "The what???" She says, "The Sleeping Germs. I went to bed and woke up with Sleeping Germs all over me." Apparently she'd been playing outside before she went to bed and had been splashing in the mud. She had little mud dots all over her legs. She thought they were the Sleeping Germs, whatever those are.

She thinks the germs inside her tell her what to do-like when she hungry, it's the germs telling her to eat. Or if her tummy hurts, it's the germs fighting with each other. I have no idea where this all came from. Sometimes the germs are tired and she has to go to bed. I don't think she really quite understands what germs actually are! ;)

That's a great one, Linnie. My DDs say things like that all the time too, but I always forget to write them down. The one thing I do remember is that DD4 used to call ketchup, chep-pup. It was so cute to hear her say it. I almost didn't want her to say it right, because it meant she was growing up.

DD4 had her 4 year well child checkup on Friday and she's finally started growing! She's 39 inches now, so we're hoping that she'll grow that final inch before October so that she can ride Soarin'. It was horrible last year when she couldn't. I guess I can always get her some good shoes....

What kind of portable DVD player do you have. We are looking to get one for our August trip so we don't have to lug the laptop with us. Good idea about getting DVD's they don't already have - I am stealing this idea;)

It's a Toshiba that Buzz got at Costco. It seems to work ok. We had gotten one from there-an off brand and it broke the first time we used it. Of course that was in WDW. I was so crabby about it. Buzz took it back and got this one instead. So far it's held up on 2 trips, going on 3 in a few weeks.

I've started packing the backpacks. I found some books on sale at Shopko-I didn't know kids books ever went on sale!! :confused3 I also got Trey a Nike coat that was half off for next year and some new Nike tennies that were $10 for next year. That's my strategy-I see things on sale and buy them for the future. One year I found winter coats marked down to $5. I got LA 2 of them and saved them until she fit them which was this winter. :thumbsup2

Chep -pup. That's cute! :cutie: Buzz doesn't like it when I don't correct the kids. I just think it sounds so cute when they mispronounce things. LA was calling Bart Simpson "Bark." I couldn't tell her his name was really Bart. Buzz did though.

And every time it snows Trey looks outside and says, "It's snowman outside." Really ticks Buzz off that I let hiim say that after all these years. Hey-I'm just happy he's actually talking and it's clear!! There was a time when I worried that he'd never talk clearly or even at all.

Oooh, I can't wait to start packing (need to wait several months here to do that :rotfl:). If you're looking for really good book prices (childrens' books and every other kind of book), I've had great transactions with bookcloseouts.com for a few years now. The prices are incredible and the shipping's really fast :goodvibes

If it's any consolation, I don't correct cute misprounciations either - I've banned everyone from correcting my 5.5yo when he says "whipser" (whisper), among other words :lovestruc For the longest time, we ate "pepperpony" pizza and enjoyed "onudes" (noodles). Oh, and "maggage" was mystifying (magic).

That's sweet :goodvibes I know what you mean by "I almost didn't want her to say it right, because it meant she was growing up." - I feel the same way!

Yay for your daughter! Fingers crossed that she'll be tall enough to ride Soarin' when the time comes :thumbsup2

I wonder if there are any rides my 5.5yo ds won't be tall enough for (he's 44.5")? :confused3 I know my oldest son is tall enough for everything though (he's 55"). You should see how big their feet are :lmao:

I think some rides are 48 inches, but I'm not sure which ones. LeeAndra is now 50 inches. She was so excited when I measured her last week. I forgot about this one. She said she was going to tell her teacher that she was "50 ages tall." That made me smile! :cloud9:

Thanks, Scott. Looks like there are still a few things that DD4 won't be able to ride, but I don't think she'll throw a fit over not being able to ride Space Mountain or RnRC. She'd probably be too scared anyway. Now, DD6 is 50 inches so we don't have a problem.

Linnie, where are you planning to eat so far? I remember you said something about Blue Bayou, right?

Linnie, where are you planning to eat so far? I remember you said something about Blue Bayou, right?

I'll have to get back to you on this- I'm not really sure where we are eating. Basically, Buzz plans everything and I pack for myself and the kids and get us ready to go on time. That's the extent of my part! I'll find out this weekend.

It's been a long week. Trey got sick earlier in the week and I had to go get him from school. He missed his little social group that he's a part of. :sad1: He is now able to tell me he's sick so that's really cool. Last year he couldn't do that. Now he'll say, "I sick." or "I coughing" whatever it may be.

He's been doing really well lately. He told me the other night, "I eating chicken strips." and I said, "Yes you are" so he follows up with "I eating chicken strips in the music room." Uh, he was. The funny thing was he told on himself. The rule is they eat at our island bar or in the kitchen-no where else. I think he wanted me to know he was breaking the rules.

Today he got on the bus and said, "What's up Bob?" to the bus driver and he's been saying hello and greeting everyone at school. He's even been asking me, "How's ya doing Mommy?" It's a little garbly, but I know he's asking me "How ya doing?"

He's really worried about Buzz right now because Buzz is super sick with the flu (see his TR- The Man Report) so he just went up to him and said, "Hello Daddy. Smile Dadddy." He tries to get people to smile if he thinks they're mad or down. These are all just minor things for most parents but for us it's miraculous. He couldn't do any of this a year ago! :goodvibes

I threw some more stuff in the suitcase, but it's a little too early to start packing clothes. I don't know what the weather is going to be like yet. I'm definitely packing a jacket. :headache:

That's about all for now. I hope we don't catch Buzz's flu. Good grief. I've never seen that guy so sick!! He scared me yesterday with a high fever so I took him to the doctor. :scared: He's got a mask to wear around us so we don't catch it.

LTP: That's great about Trey:goodvibes

I :lmao: at the part about him telling on himself.

I said over on the Man Report, but I hope Buzz gets well soon!

That is soo cool about Trey, I bet you are glowing with pride and joy.:cloud9:

That's so great. I bet that made Buzz's day when he told him to smile. The part about him telling on himself is hilarious! Stinker! :rotfl:

I hope you can all stay well. We've been sick on and off for weeks. Nothing as serious as Buzz has had this week, though.

Linnie I got all teary eyed reading about Trey's progress.
Special kids have a special place in my heart.
I am going back to college this summer to finish my teaching degree and I have already met with a friend in special ed to ask her lots of questions. I am thinking about specializing in that. That's what you have your degree in right?
I put my education on hold so I could stay home with my children. I am very excited about going back to school. (Yeah, I'm 40 but I'm 40 young and fabulous:cool1: )

BTW, sorry about Buzz. Glad you took him to the doctor. Not something to play around with.

that is great to hear about him and funny that he told on himself.

I think I left it on Buzz's report but I hope he feels better soon.
