The Woman Report- Update 4/24 Final Thoughts p. 74

sounds like a fun night except for Buzz complaining. I am so sorry but I cracked up at your story of u jumping in the pool.
can't believe it is almost over. already.

Caught up on the last two installments just now. Good for Trey in communicating better---that was great about him teasing you and interacting that way. Sorry to hear that Nemo was a bust. I did love the 20,000 leagues when I was little and wanted to hear that Nemo was good, too. We still may try it if we end up at DL this year. I did go ahead and make Dec. ressies for WDW so we'll just wait and see. I'll wait on the MVMCP tickets, though.

Glad to hear you are still feeling a little better, hope today is good.

Hi there!
First time poster... I have been lurking on your families TR's for a while now an dfinally got caught up on this one. I just have to say that you all crack me up. You have such a fun time and the antics are too funny! Keep up the fun posting! Hope you get back on your feet quickly...

I really enjoy your installments, Linnie. I really felt like we were there with you as you experienced the melancholy of the last evening.

Granted I haven't been to Disneyland in two decades, but when we rode the HM at WDW it didn't have the same feeling that I remember the one at DL having. It seemed more day-glo to me. It's funny you mentioned the popping out stuff - one time when I was a teenager I was riding the HM and there was a CM standing in the scene where the skeleton is lifting the coffin lid. You come at the scene backwards and the CM leaned into our Doombuggy. Scared the pants off of me!!:scared1: Good times!!

I'm glad to hear you had a good appointment. It must feel good to have the drain and pain pump out. Hopefully there isn't any infection and you just continue to heal quickly. Antibiotics is a good precaution anyways. DH sliced three fingers open on a table saw last week and the emergency room stitched him up but they didn't prescribe any antibiotics. He is still in great pain and just saw the doctor who prescribed him an antibiotic because it was starting to become infected even with regular application of Neosporin. Phew! All this to say... I think it is good to take antibiotics any time infection is a possibility.

Sorry for the novel... I guess I'm feeling chatty today.:flower3:

Wow-that's hilarious!! That would scared me too!!

Eek-DH slicing his finger up. I totally agree about taking antibiotics. I had a sinus infection for the past 3 or 4 months that I couldn't shake. The doctor said just wait it out-let it run its course. I was blowing my nose so hard. I couldn't imagine how I was going to manage that during my recovery. They gave me antibiotics in my IV (standard) and the very next day my sinus infection was completely gone. If my other doctor had done that right away, I could've avoided a lot of misery.

Buzz took coats to Fl

How disappointing that the sub ride was a let down, maybe it would have been better without the screaming baby?

Yep, Buzz took about 3 coats to Florida...:sad2:

It definitely would've been better without the screaming baby. :headache:

sounds like a fun night except for Buzz complaining. I am so sorry but I cracked up at your story of u jumping in the pool.
can't believe it is almost over. already.

You should've seen me jumping the pool! That was even funnier than my retelling it! :scared1: :lmao:

Better late than never. subbing! :)

Hello!! :thumbsup2

Sounds like a nice last day. I'm glad the other pool was fun for LA and Trey.

It was so much better!!

I hope by Fl you don't mean Florida. We're on the DLR boards sistah! :sad2:

Go back to your TR Buzz...

Yes, but Lin said you even took coats to Florida. :confused3

He did!! :dance3: The goofball.

Just checkin in Lin.:)

Hope all is well and the smell is better:hug:

It's a little better! Thank you!

Today was good-everyday seems to get better. I can almost lay on my side now! :yay:

Welcome!! And thank you! I swear-the weirdest things happen to us. Of course Buzz being Buzz doesn't help reach for the elusive sanity. :rolleyes1

As usual, I’m up before the alarm goes off at some hideously early hour. I’d finished my book about Natalee Holloway the night before and was thinking about her and her family. Such a sad case. It really made my heart ache. It's like the Titanic story-everytime I hear it, I root for the ship to not go down. I was rooting for them to find Natalee. We'll probably never know what happened to her.

The alarm went off and we all got up and moving. As we headed out the hotel door, LA said a sad, “Goodbye Disneyland:sad1:

We had called ahead for them to bring our car and as we left the hotel, the guy just pulled up with it. He was very nice, helped me with loading the luggage (Thanks, Buzz) and gave Buzz directions. We hadn’t seen our funky car since we arrived! Buzz ignored my constant suggestions to go to a grocery store so we left it parked the whole time.

The ride to the airport was very quiet. We stopped for gas, even though we only drove the car a little bit. I didn’t have much to say so just looked out the window, feeling sad that we were leaving, but ready to come home and get back to our routine. Well, not entirely ready to come home, but almost.

At the car rental place Buzz pulled the car in the lane that was marked and got our things out. We stood waiting for this elderly car rental guy to come help us. He was so slow Buzz just finally yelled to him that we were pre-paid and he waved us on. We caught the shuttle bus to the airport and headed for security. The car rental at WDW is faster and easier.

The security guy at the airport was pretty humorous, asking the kids to see their driver’s licenses. LA has informed me many times, she’s never going to drive a car. She just likes to sit and relax and let me drive. Something tells me I should tape record her statement and SOON!! Just for future reference.

Ontario Airport’s security was very smooth and the people were so nice. I was impressed. :thumbsup2

Buzz decides to get us breakfast so I take the kids on a bathroom break while he gets the food. He got me some sort of spicy eggs. Then he tells me we have about 5 minutes to eat –they’d be loading any minute. I usually eat very fast, but I really inhaled these eggs and boy were they hot!! Not very spicy hot, but warm hot! And soooo good!!

I ate them so fast, I was done first so I went to the news stand and bought some more magazines and another book. Trey came with me and picked out some Cheetos. That’ll make for nice orange hands and face.

Next thing you know, we’re on the plane and heading back to Denver. The flight was uneventful. When we were in the air, they told us the plane we were on was heading to Orlando so BUzz tells LA this and she gets super excited like maybe we were going to WDW now!! Uh, hated to crush her excitedness, but we were leaving this plane and going to Montana. She and Buzz were totally ready to continue on to WDW!

We arrive in Denver, no problem and as we’re walking to the gate for our hour long wait to board our next plane, Buzz’s phone rings. It’s United. We’re delayed. So we go to the McDonald’s and wolf down some burgers and hit the Croc shop to kill time. It’s amazing how many different styles they have now. I was wearing my sparkly Tink shirt and one the employees tells me they have Tinkerbell Jibbits. I think about it for a minute, but decided not to get any. I’ve spent enough.

We kept getting delayed, delayed, delayed and delayed so we go to the Red Carpet Room. Trey is NOT happy. He knows when we go there, that we’ll be there for a long while. I get us some things to snack on. They have cheese!! I’m happy!! But I can’t get it open, so this very nice employee comes over to show me how. She’s super nice.

Trey is still bugging so I take him to the bathroom, thinking maybe he needs to go. He don’t. We’re washing our hands and that really nice lady employee is in there. She must’ve thought I was a complete doofus because now I can’t find the paper towels to dry our hands. She shows me, then asks how old Trey is. I tell her he’s 8 and he’s not very happy right now. He’s kind of crying. She puts her hands on his cheeks and says, “Don’t cry, it’ll be ok.” Then she says she has 2 boys herself and she tells me Trey is very cute. I just loved this woman. She was so kind! And he loved it when she put her hands on his cheeks! :goodvibes

Trey continued to bug the whole time we were there so we just left him alone. He’s writhing around on the floor, getting filthy-far away from us but within eye sight, but at least he’d quieted down. LA wants to watch a movie so I put on for her. Our DVD player that was just working the night before won’t work. It’s broken. That was annoying. It’s our 2nd one. The first one lasted even less time than this one. Is it our bad luck or are those things junk?

I was pretty annoyed, but then cheered up because this really noisy family came and sat nearby. Ah! Something entertaining to watch and their kids were so loud, it made mine seem quiet. But darn it, they got up and left after a few minutes. I wanted to shout, “Loud Family come back!! Please!!” But I controlled myself.

After a few hours, I walked over to the other side and the kids and I watched for our plane to come in. TAfter about 5 minutes, it showed up. Woo Hoo!! I went to tell Buzz and we loaded our gear and went to the gate.

Trey is having a great school year, he loves his teacher and the people that work with him so much. The people that worked with him before didn’t seem to really like him and they didn’t work with him. Last year for Trey was extremely frustrating to me. His teacher yelled a lot at the kids and I witnessed her aide being way too physical with a student, spinning him around in the hallway.

I was not happy with this situation. So when Trey switched schools this year, I went in, guns blazing. I wasn’t about to let him have another wasted year. He just can’t afford it. I had plans to come in no matter what the teacher said, and work with Trey. Uh, it turned out, I didn’t need to even worry. He’s got an awesome teacher and team. At conferences, she told me she really loves Trey and the whole room enjoys him-the whole school enjoys him. He just lights up the room he’s in. Awwww. It’s such a relief and such a warm fuzzy feeling to know how much they like him!!

So we settle in on the plane and his teacher comes walking by!! Trey and I are both shocked! :scared1: Him more than me! He practically jumped out of his seat. She smiled and said hi, then went and sat down. I asked him when we were in the air if he wanted to say hi to her, but he didn’t. He did keep yelling "Hi Mrs. Hert" all through the flight though and looking towards the back of the plane!

We started to land and LA said she had to go potty. Great. I told her she’d have to wait now and she immediately bursts in to tears. It’s a short ride to the gate and as soon as we land, we quickly get off and get her to the potty. Then Buzz and LA go get the car and I wait with Trey for the luggage. We looked around for his teacher but didn’t see her. She emailed me later and said she would’ve come to visit but Trey was so surprised to see her that she thought it’d be better if she didn’t. What a thoughtful, considerate person!! She’s awesome!! :goodvibes

Trey was really looking for her, when the carousel beeped and guess what!! Our luggage was the first ones off!! They paid attention to the priority stickers!! I grabbed them and dragged them out to the car, which had just pulled up. It was a great end to a great trip!! We stopped at Subway and Wendy’s for dinner, hit the wine store for me and Buzz and then home sweet home!!

Oh Linnie. I hate that feeling when you have to leave.
One year ago today for the first time ever, we were in our room at POR. :sad1:

What a great trip. you had.

I love this part of the story. What a wonderful lady employee!

Man, you'd love to have my family to compare yourselves to. You guys would come off as church mice.

This is so wonderful to hear. I am sure that the amazing progress that Trey is making has a lot to do with this nurturing and supportive environment that he has at school (as well as the great family he has at home.)

That trip home sounds like a really long trip. I hate waiting in airports. It sounds like you guys made the best of it  .

Can't wait to hear the DL vs. WDW.

it is almost over. :sad2:

how weird he saw his teacher. I always think it is freaky when I see someone from home and we are both so far away from it.

ok back to BB9

look forward to the comparisons.

 Why?????????

The alarm went off and we all got up and moving. As we headed out the hotel door, LA said a sad, “Goodbye Disneyland.” :sad1:

awww that's sad :(

Plus this was a much shorter trip than the ones you to to WDW. Could you have spent more time there or did you get to see it all?

::yes:: JoJo is going for her drivers test in May :scared1:

Ontario Airport’s security was very smooth and the people were so nice. I was impressed. :thumbsup2

Ontario eh? Copycats

I usually eat very fast, but I really inhaled these eggs and boy were they hot!!

My girls have had theirs for a couple years now with no problems :confused3

Coming Up: Disneyland vs. Walt Disney World: Pros & Cons[/QUOTE]

I'm very interested in this part.

Okay - so I haven't *really* caught up but figured I'd get one installment out of the way :sad2:

Our United flight back to Oz was delayed heaps too!

We arrived at the airport at about 4:30pm, and finally boarded the plane a little after 1am.

They made the announcement that if it got to 1:30am and we still hadn't boarded they were going to put us in a hotel for the night. I'm glad we boarded the plane that night. It worked out pretty well because we were both dead tired when we boarded and slept through the first 7 hours of the flight!!

Can't wait to hear the pros and cons!

I get this feeling too. Don't want to leave, but once the leaving is set in motion you just want to get there!

Something tells me I should tape record her statement and SOON!! Just for future reference.

Isn't it great when your kids gets a great teacher. We were having some issues with Jimmy at his old school/daycare. None of the teachers ages added up to mine together adn we felt they just didn't have enough experience to handle kiids (any kids). I knew it was time to switch schools when he got put into time out becasue he didn't want to paint:eek:
