The Woman Report- Update 4/24 Final Thoughts p. 74

 Linnie, it is good to know you are feeling a bit better. Sounds like a wonderful afternoon and evening with your family. I love hearing stories about you and LeeAndra having mom and daughter time and hearing about Trey's advancement with communication. That was a wonderful installment.

Great update. I am so happy for Trey!

There were more quotes but I'm too lazy to post them all...

Trey (MB) is really doing GREAT! It's like a switch was turned on and really since our vacation, he's come out of his shell.

I'd say his communication is coming close to a 4 or 5 year old level. Two years ago, I couldn't understand a single word he said. It was horrible and heartbreaking. :sad1:

Hopefully, he'll continue his progress. We love our little guy.

Hey Linnie, glad you are feeling better and feeling up to posting. Glad Trey stopped "buggin" and you were able to enjoy you r afternoon/evening. SOund like a nice relaxing afternoon--especially for Buzz:rolleyes1

I can't believe you are at the last day already

It was a great time! The last day is always so sad....:sad1:

I think Buzz and Jodi both owe you Margaritas.

So great to hear about Trey.

Sounds like you and LA hit pay dirt.

Sounds good to me-when I'm off the pain pills, I'll have one! Buzz is in hog heaven right now. He's got the wine all to himself! :scared1: And believe me, he's HAPPY BUZZ!! :yay:

Great update. That part made me laugh, thinking of Buzz telling you all to quite goofing around.

Buzz = Killjoy :dance3: My voice of reason....

What did I do???

Doesn't matter, I still like you!

Lin's gunna be done first.

Ah yes! I've been busting my hump to get this TR out there! It's been fun! :yay:

Okay. Sorry, I was thinking that I did something to her or said something about her. I get it now. I'm pretty sure her hubby will buy her just about anything she wants, especially when it comes to alcoholic beverages! But I'll happily share the ones he buys for me with her too!

Gotta get working on my next chapter tonight!

He's bogarting the wine pretty good right now! I am going to abstain for a few weeks. I don't want to drink some, then get silly and "forget" I"m restricted and injure myself or my procedure. So he's got all the wine to himself for awhile! :cutie:

How Fantastic for Trey!!!!!
Now that's real family time.

It was great. When we got home, LA made a "Poop Book" and wrote all these sentences in it about poop. She laughed so hard. Then one day, I caught her with Trey and she was having him read the sentences to her. It was so cute. She was helping with the words he couldn't read. He's a great reader, but her handwriting was so messy that he couldn't read some of what she'd written. Shortly after that incident, she told me she's going to be a teacher. Aw, just like her mommy! :cloud9: Only I didn't help kids read a Poop Book. :sad2:

Glad you're feeling up to posting Linnie!

What a great day for you ... shopping with LA, swimming, kid play with Trey, and the huge accomplishment for Trey. Awesome!

Thank you! It was a great day!

My biggest "issue" right now is everything is starting to itch and tickle and I just want to scrape and scratch. :guilty:

Glad Trey had such a great time! It's the memories like that that make a GREAT vacation!

Glad you are feeling better!

You are so right!! :thumbsup2

great update. shopping is always fun.

Buzz sleeping again.

well was happy to see u posted. hope your doing better. 6 weeks will go by fast, wait and see.

I live to shop!! :cloud9:

Buzz is sleeping right now as I type this. :sad2:

Thanks for your words of encouragement. I hope it goes by fast! I'm already on day 4 and doing pretty well. My pain pump is empty and I haven't taken a pain pill today but with all this itching/tickling I may go take one when I'm done here. It'll be better when I get the drains and pump out.

Nice update Linnie!

I am getting confused by all the Buzzy Signatures... LOL!

Thank you! Those Buzz signatures are hilarious! He is so proud! :flower3:

Thank you! Trey is doing so good right now. Buzz told me last night with me being "down" for awhile it's good for Trey-gets him out of the routine and causes him to do different things-just like on vacation. I was so glad he told me that b/c I feel horribly guilty. This is really hard on him and LA. They're troopers though.

Great update. I am so happy for Trey!
Thank you! It was such an incredible moment!

My parents and sistah still call me Buzzy.

But Linnie don't! I call him Oscar.

Trey = gud.

Big Time

I actually lurked for a long time and couldn't resist when the siggie thing started.

That is hilarious!! Brought out of lurkdom by goofy pictures of Buzz.:lmao:

LeeAndra and I excitedly took off for some shopping, some much needed shopping, that is. I’ve been looking forward to this for 4 months!
Sounds so sweet some great Mummy and DD time :lovestruc

Got back to the room to find out SURPRISE! Buzz had been napping. :sad2:
Again :sad2:

LA, Trey & I were cracking up. I was so happy. He was totally doing it on purpose-teasing me. For Trey it was huge!! Huge!! And the more we all laughed, the more egged on he was.
Sounds like it was so much fun, it's the little things that are the most rewarding isn't it :goodvibes

It must have been, I'm so pleased that he's making progress

Ok, here’s where the CM’s advice at check in came back to bite me in the butt. She told us it was thee number one attraction in DL and we needed to be there at 9:00 on the dot!! So I made us all get up early, after much, much, much complaining from Buzz. He wanted to sleep in and get there at 9:30. I got us early and insisted we get going.

So we head for DL. I’m looking forward to this ride, but as we approached the esplanade, I turn to Buzz and say, “I hope this ride is good or I’m gonna never hear the end of it, am I?” He just smiled at me. First smile of the day. Not a happy one. More of a grimace. He loves Grimace btw.

We get in a line at the gate to get in the park-the lines all looked the same length. Only the other lines start moving and our line isn’t moving. The other lines keep moving along and I’m imagining all those people going through the gates and heading to Nemo. We stood there for fifteen minutes before Buzz finally jumps ship and heads us to another line.

He’d spotted one that just opened up and as we were heading for it a lady tried to muscle a stroller in front of us. Buzz’s GAT tactics must’ve been off b/c she made it ahead of us, slowing us down. No worries. I GAT’ed like crazy, getting us to Nemo to see a sign that said 45 minute wait. Yuck. I force us through it and it’s a death march, believe me. We wait in line 45 minutes. My lower back was screaming in agony. Every now and again, I hunkered down on the ground to relieve the pain. It was brutal. Luckily the kids were great or we couldn’t have done it. When we got up closer, I noticed people coming off the ride and not one had a smile on their face. This was not looking good. :sad2:

We finally get on the ride. It’s a little confusing. You line up and then go in kind of like Soarin’ only on this ride you go in a submarine that is down in the water. We were the last ones in so that meant we were the first ones off. That turned out to be the only good thing about this ride.

The air in was really uh, not fresh. I felt very closed in and didn’t like it. For the first time in my life, I started to have a panic attack. When I was pregnant with LA, I was a bridesmaid in a wedding. Two weeks before the wedding, I was making sure my dress fit (with my ever expanding waist line) and I got stuck in my bridesmaid dress!! Buzz was gone so I had to cut myself out of it. Ever since then I seem to have a little bit of claustrophobia.

So for the first few minutes, I stared out my porthole, trying to tell myself everything was ok. By the time we took off, I was over it and the panic was gone.

I thought you got to see fish and things like in the Living Seas. All we saw was the bottom of the tank we were in. Then it started getting really dark and thundering in there. It would’ve been really neat, but this baby started screaming at the top of its lungs. It was definitely scared. Who would take a baby on a ride like that?

To make it worse, they passed the baby to the person sitting behind me (there are 2 rows of seats and you sit with your back to the row behind you) and he put it on his shoulder so it was screaming right in my ear. Trey gets super upset when kids or babies are crying, but fortunately for us, he’s getting over that phase or it would’ve been an absolute nightmare!! He only asked once, “The baby’s mad? The baby go to time out?” I just said yes and left it at that. :sad2:

Twenty verrrrry long minutes later, we arrived at the end. I look over and see Buzz. I know what he’s thinking. We should’ve slept in til 9:30. This was a horrible experience. I’m so sorry we did it. Sorry, Buzz! I look around at some other passengers and I think they’re thinking the same thing. Being stuck in that sub with a screaming baby when it could’ve been a slightly fun ride was horrible. I looked behind me at the people with the baby and found there was a large group of them together. So why couldn’t one have stayed behind and kept the baby outside? When my kids were babies, I was very mindful of their crying and never did things like that with them. I know it upsets people.

So with that ride being totally ruined and 90 mins of our lives we’ll never get back (which Buzz announced very loudly as we exited our submarine), we head over to do something fun. Space Mountain!! Now that was fun!! We really enjoyed that ride.

We thought about doing Buzz Lightyear again but the kids were pretty hungry so we opted to go find food. We went immediately to that place with the fried chicken that I didn’t want to eat at the other day. I gave in and told Buzz to just get me the chicken. I could use the plastic utensils to pick the breading off. After Nemo, I did NOT want to cause any more problems.

I let LeeAndra pick out a table for us. There was not one other customer in the place so we literally had our pick. We sit down and get our napkins. Much to my surprise and delight, there is real silverware-not plastic! So we get our stuff and sit down. With all the empty tables in the place, here comes a lady with a screaming baby and sits right next to us!! Every other table in the place was empty and she sits next to us. I immediately grab our things and get up. “Come on. We’re moving.”

The kids are confused but they follow me with LA asking me why the entire way. We find a place to sit as far away from the screaming baby as we can get. Just then I look in the restaurant, and see Buzz at the check out. He waves me over. It’s a ton of food and there’s 2 trays so I carry one and lead him to where we are sitting.

This is awesome fried chicken and I’m sorry we didn’t eat there the other day. It was wonderful. The atmosphere was great! We were in the shade so it was a little cool. But so relaxing. And we were right by the Haunted Mansion which we had planned to ride next.

We finished up and prepared to go get scared.

Coming Up: Our Last Ride at DL

That is too bad that the Nemo ride turned out so bad. You would think that a ride that has such long waits would be amazing. :sad2:

Oh Lin so sorry about the 90 minutes you will never get back! You are not the first person I've heard say that the new Nemo ride is lame, to use my 12 year old dd's word.

As for the baby, perhaps they didn't know the ride would be dark?

I can not for the life of me think of what chicken place you ate at? Was it in Tomorrowland?

I could not imagine a baby crying in my ear for that long. Trey was so sweet :grouphug:. I love how these disney trips really expand a child's outlook on things. So sorry to hear you are almost to your last ride at DL :sad2:.

How are you feeling? Are you sleeping ok? I have had you on my mind a lot lately and hope you are feeling better .

Great installment!

I remember going on the Submarines when I was a kid and really enjoying them. They were sort of claustrophobic and musty, though. I was so sad when I heard they closed them down and so happy when I found out that what they did with the lagoon was to put in another sub ride. It's too bad that they haven't figured out how to do-mustify them. What did the kids think of the ride? I think I am still going to have to wait in that line when/if we ever get to Disneyland, just for nostalgia's sake.:cutie:

Fried chicken sounds good. And real utensils!?! WooHoo!:woohoo:

I can't wait to hear how you liked the Haunted Mansion at DL compared to WDW.

I remember going on the subs when it was 20,000 LEagues and I thought they were claustrophobic then. Sorry you waited 40 minutes and it wasn't a great ride:sad2: Hope Buzz was a gentleman and didn't say I told you so;)

That Stinks (literally :rotfl2: ) about the sub ride. I was just telling DH that I wanted to go to DL specifically to do that ride.:sad2:
