Let me see if I can help, because you are confused.

First all the rooms (except the Deluxe Rooms or Suites) at Wilderness Lodge are Standard Rooms, which is what you keep asking about...Other then the Deluxe Rooms, Suites and rooms that are Club level (concierge) You book by VIEW and rather you want Bunk Beds.

Standard View
Woods View
Woods View with Bunk Beds
Courtyard View
Courtyard View with Bunk Beds

If you are in fact asking about a room you have booked that has a Standard View the lest expensive room at the Lodge. These rooms only have 2 Queen Beds, and are located on Floors 4, 5 & 6.

On the North (MK) side of the Wilderness Lodge, they face the service area.

There are also 9 Standard View rooms located on the South side of the 4th floor that overlook the lobby and lookout to roof peaks.

So you'll either have a view overlooking roof peaks or the service area.

The information on the first page of this thread is from personal experience and I have stayed in many of the rooms at the Lodge.

If I book a standard view room I request the North Wing on the 5th floor, while there is a view of the service area if you look straight down, you may also have a view of the Magic Kingdom and great views of the fireworks at night. :confused3

Beckie
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!! Sorry I just couldn't "get it", but I do now!!!! :-) :woohoo: Just called and requested North Wing on the 5th floor!

Because the Villas are right next door to the Mercantile the offerings are good, here are a few photo's of what is available.

Are the prices outragous?

The pricing of the food items compares to that a a convenience store, not so expensive you feel riped-off.

Do they have gallons of milk too? My little ones love their milk in the morning. We are staying in the villas so the pictures are very helpful!

OK Experts! Help me please! Here is my situation.....on the second day of our trip we have to check out of AS Sports, check into WL and then get over to MK for an 8:10 ADR @ CRT! I figure we will take a taxi from AS Sports to WL but my question is this......

How long should I expect check in to take at around 7am and how possible is it that there would actually be a room ready for us at that time? I realize that there is no guarantee and I don't expect there will be one ready, just curious. I know that we can leave our luggage with bell services to be delivered later etc.

Thanks in Advance!

You don't actually have to check in to WL that early. You could do it later in the day at any time.

I honestly do not think there is an educated honest answer to your question. How many folks will be checking out and not use the automated checkout is a crapshoot to say the least. No one can say how many rooms would not have been occupied the night before. If one was not used and is the kind you reserved, it is possible but today everyone seems to have their own little preference like what they will be looking at and how far they may want to walk for a drink and whether little johnnie can feed the ducks, or whether they will get an open or closed balcony that what you are wanting may or may not be there when you want it. I would hate to tell you yes when no one can really say. Know, however, that the Lodge staff will do everything possible to meet your needs as soon as they can. Sometimes what you want is worth waiting for. good luck in any case. I hope the magic is there for you.

Thanks. I realize that would be a possibility however, that is the first day of our package and we need to check in to get our park tickets and DDP so we can actually get into the park to get to our ADR!

Does anybody else have any ideas?

I'm basically just looking for an idea on how long check in might take at around 7am so we can guage when to leave AS Sports and when we need to be leaving WL to get to MK!

Oh, I see. I always get my room and tickets separately, so that didn't even occur to me.

I wouldn't think the check-in would take very long at that time, but maybe someone else would have a better idea.

I do not think it will take that long either if you are not expecting to be assigned a room. They will give you a key and you call later in the day to find out which room it will open. Most folks do the automatic check out if they are leaving early so as to not be detained. if in doubt, you can always call one resort from the other and ask how long th lines are and decide then if you need to leave earlier. I do not think you will have a problem.

I usually sit in the WL lobby early in the am and enjoy my coffee in the quiet. I've never seen anyone down there that early, as a rule, so you should be able to walk right up and check in. However, getting in the room is another thing, as some posters above have said.

Help! I've done a search on this and I'm finding posts from 2005 - looking for something more recent as I know things change.

Does anyone know about the WL carriage rides?
Do they still offer them in December?
How much does it cost?
How long is it?
Can 4 adults and 1 toddler go together?
Do they offer any during the afternoon? (I've heard the night ones are pitch black)
Do they sing/play carols?
Are blankets provided?
Is the WL version better/worse/different than the Port Orleans carriage ride?

I know - a lot of questions, but I'm trying to plan a surprise trip for DH & my inlaws and thought it would be a fun thing to do.

I know you are the experts - so I appreciate your help in advance!

This years information on the Wildreness Lodge Holiday Sleigh Rides 2008: is the very first post on page 1. This will answer most of your questions, I've never done the Carriage Ride over at PO so I'm no help with that.

I have checked in at this time several times, usually you will walk in and you'll be the next guest to be helped. You need to be at the Lodge at 7:00am for this to work best, appx time once you're with a Cast Member 15 minutes.

Plan of action:
Plan on leaving ASSports at 6:30am try and have a taxi lined up for your party size before this time. When you arrive at the Lodge have your DH handle the luggage while you go straight inside to check-in, or reverse this if DH does check-in. If both stay with the luggage this will take more time. Be sure you have everything you're taking to the park this morning separate from the items you will be leaving with Bell Services.

If your room is ready great, but don't even think about going to the room it will waste to much time.

You are all checked in...now you need to get to the Magic Kingdom. There are several options but in your case with two little ones I think you should head to the Bus stop and catch the direct bus to the Magic Kingdom.

When you arrive remember to check for the line that lets guest with early ADR's to enter the park.

You should have plenty of time but if you find yourself running a little late don't panic, remember your at WDW, you're there to have a GREAT time with your family. The Disney resturants know that sometimes guest need a few extra minutes for transportation.

Good Luck

Thank you so much! :) This is great information! So totally helpful! I feel so relieved now! Thanks for your help! :thumbsup2

We are flying so I won't get to pack as much as I would like.
I was even thinking of shipping down some breakfest foods and bottled water.
Is that crazy?

I apologize because I'm sure this has been asked and answered many times. What is the BEST way to request a room? This will be our 4th stay at WL this Feb and we have yet to get what we've requested. In the past, I've just had my TA add it to my reservation which she said was the best way. Also, if you are given a room and would prefer a different one is it ok to ask for another one? (After reading these posts I really want to get an even room #5004-5034--this sounds like it would ensure a great woods view bunk with MK view) I also haven't been lucky with friendly/patient CM's at the WL desk. Is it too specific to ask for a room in that number bunch?

thanks for any info! I appreciate it =)
