The Wilderness Lodge FAQ (Part 6) Simbas and Tiggers and Humphreys OH MY!

hey do any of you have pictures from the inner court yard view rooms off of the lobby. I would love to see that view.

Why? I just returned from a first stay WL and WOW.....upgraded courtyard view spoiled me. :cloud9: Fill me in on club level. Why do you do it? Because you can? Because you want to be pampered and want a real vacation? Do you spend more time at the resort when you stay club? Do you still do the DDP when you stay club (I realize they don't serve meals, but even the DDP is still sometimes too much eating, but I do like the pre-paid aspect of the plan)

I am asking because DH does not consider WDW much of a vacation because it's go go go with me and DD and with DD around, there is no sleeping in :). DH works hard, I am about to become a SAHM because we are on the verge of finally being able to afford for that to happen., so I would love for him to want to go to Disney and feel like he can relax a little and get a little vaca time.

Please share and convince me that it's worth the extra $$. It's just me, DH and DD5.

Thanks.

Hmmm, tough question! We stayed at GF in March. We had originally booked Poly but because the pool was down for refurb and my kiddos are big water babies we changed to GF GV. Upon arrival we found out we'd been upgraded to CL and now I'm hooked!!! We're staying CL at WL in January with the kids and CL at Poly in March just DH and I!

Admittedly, I'm a bit high maintenance. But, it was soooooo nice! We ate breakfast there all but 2 morning when we got up a little later and took more time getting ready. We enjoyed all the offering cookies and treats, beer and wine, cordials etc! It was nice to have the concierge staff there for any help and they were super nice! Even the Mousekeeping, IMO, was above what we'd received in the past!

We do have the dining plan but I'm trying to figure in my head if I'm going to be losing $$. We'll see!

I think if you can do it and would enjoy a little extra spoiling then go for it!

Will we book CL ever time? Probably not. But, I have to say I'm looking forward to breakfast at the Old Faithful Club every morning and not have to fight a crowd of people through Roaring Forks!

Ah, no problem! When I called WL they did suggest DisneyFlorist.com, and I didn't see anything like this on there...but maybe they have some items that they just don't show on their website? :confused3 Who knows!

Thank you in advance if you find out any details! :goodvibes

I haven't had a chance to call yet! My kiddos had a 5 day weekend for Columbus Day! :confused3 I'm definitely going to call tomorrow and I'll let you know!

Thanks for the scoop

Can anyone tell me how the noise level is in the inner courtyard view rooms off of the lobby? I've heard it can get pretty loud, due to the WCC.

Can anyone tell me how the noise level is in the inner courtyard view rooms off of the lobby? I've heard it can get pretty loud, due to the WCC.

Our trip this past August we requested a room directly above WCC and got it.

In the morning WCC is quite and it is also pretty quite at lunch, so for most of the day when you are in your room you can't hear any noise from the lobby.

At night when they get to some of the louder hootin' & hollerin' at WCC you can hear it from your room. Is it very loud....no.... but you can noticeably hear it. The noise was sporadic however, it wasn't constantly at this noticeable level. It didn't bother us at all and was usually over by 10:30pm.

Unless you have very young children that you are trying to get to sleep early in the evening I wouldn't worry about the noise level.

I've never had any of these rooms, though I've had a courtyard view before. Most of the time I'm not back at my room at 10:30 so noise wouldn't be a problem. I never thought about the WCC being a noisemaker until I stayed at a hotel near my hometown with noise going on ALL NIGHT in the lobby.

This is good info to know in case I want to go to bed at 7pm or something.

Just wanted to say what a great thread! My husband and I usually stay at the BW, but will be at the lodge this ttrip from Oct 25-30. We are so looking forward to trying it. I have read everything here and I am more excited!!

These are beautiful! And actually more what I was thinking of for DH...I looked at Disneyflorist.com but didn't see anything even close to this!! Did you find it on their website, or just call and ask for something like this?

I spoke to a very nice CM in the IPO office for WL and she did a little research into the White Chocolate Mickeys and as it turns out they are exculsive to GF! Definitely look into Disney Florist or www.memoriesbybetsy.com.

I have to subscribe to this thread. We are going back to WL next September (2009) and I've now realized that this is our WDW home (We tried out the BC a few weeks ago and even though we thought it was nice, we realized that we missed the Lodge the entire time).

Ah, makes sense! Thanks for your help and the info! :goodvibes

Does anyone know if you are able to order a dessert "to go" style from Artist's Point? Our favorite dessert of all time is from there (Coffee 2 Ways) and we don't have and ADR for it, but would LOVE to enjoy it again!

Tha answer is YES...... We always stop by and get the cobbler with ice cream to go and go sit on the porch and eat it...... NO Problem. ENJOY......

[.....they're no ZEBRA DOMES, I can tell ya THAT....] :rolleyes1

:rotfl: I'm BUSTED! :lmao:

But, no worries, I WILL get the beloved Domes on our Boma breakfast day. I couldn't possibly be at the Lodge and not get them. :scared1:

And I will be sure to take several pictures to share them with the crew!

Have you been able to find a room or airfare yet? I see you have a ticker!

Hi there,

FYI, Artist Point took Coffee 2 Ways off the menu a while ago. Sorry.

I do know they have some wonderful desserts. The chef is also going to be putting some new items on the menu soon.

Have a great trip!!

Oh, I'm sorry I confused you a bit. Those weren't from me, they were a complementary gift from Disney for DD and DS. They where just there when we got to the room! I didn't pay anything for them. I'm almost postitive that you can order them. Try calling WL and see if anyone can give you any info.

Actually, I have to call the itinerary planning office for out january trip. I'll ask them if they know anything about ordering them and let you know!

I just found this thread and OMG I haven't done any work for at least an hour (yes, I'm at work but the boss is gone..yea!) I was wondering if you got these because you were at the concierge level or just because you mentioned it was their birthdays?? We're going in less than 2 weeks for our 25th wedding anniversary and this would be a very special surprise to find these waiting for us. Also, is there a post in this thread showing cakes that can be order from their bakery? Thanks so much.
