sounds great. we love lovel AKL and AKV. They so far are our fav DVC resort. We shall see if that changes this trip with staying at VWL.

I hope wl is great for you as well. I love the boat to the MK personally. The atnosphere just puts me at ease. Hope you have a wonderful trip.

Nathanyell...Just wanted to say thanks for answering my question about standard rooms at the wl last week on a different post Also when looking at other posts you answered questions I was going to ask. Very cool. Have a great time next week at the wl and I also personally agree with you about the boat ride to Magic Kingdom. We are going mid July for 10 days, dining was free and booked a standard room. Thanks again:thumbsup2

You are very welcome. I try to give people the best information possible, since there is a lit if misinformation out there. 10 days of free dining sounds awesome. believe it or not, I have never done free dining because it has only been 2 of us each trip. I personally book a standard room as much as possible. Been upgraded many times, so I hope your trip is filled with pixiedust as well!

6 days!

Can anyone tell me about the views from Standard Club Level? Is there something to request to get a better view than another? As in, can I request Club Level, inner courtyard? TIA!

All non-suite/non-deluxe CL rooms are located on the 7th floor. There is only one booking category for CL rooms at the WL. You could end-up with an inner courtyard view or an outer courtyard view facing the VWL or a woods view. I have requested and gotten inner courtyard view. Here is a link to the WL map with room numbers:

I'm down to 5 days til I'm back to the lodge. I think the days off from work drag worse than when I'm at work. Lol.

So excited for our weekend getaway!

Brian :woohoo:

Is this possible? does the wilderness lodge allow 2 adults and 3 children in standard room. just wondering?

Thanks Christine. I see you have a new trip ticker. :cool1:

Finally!! Funny and sad since it is not until December 2012!! My friend and I are going to have a double 65th birthday celebration and rent points - unfortunately, VWL is not in the budget.:sad1: Points at VWL are expensive. Can still hope for a good code next year for the Lodge though! Fingers crossed.

Hoping we will take my little granddaughter next winter though - she will be three and half then and maybe ready to meet Minnie. :goodvibes Our closest Disney store is over an hour from here, so Saturday we took a road trip to visit Mickey & Minnie's Store! It was like Christmas for Sophia...my DD and I could deny her almost nothing! She came home with a bag full of goodies....just imagine her first trip to WDW!!!

4 more sleeps for you!!!! :cheer2:

Sounds like you've got some good trips coming up. ;-) I found some cute outfits for my little one at the Disney store last week. I know in December she probably won't be big enough to really enjoy it, but we will have fun anyway.

Hope those codes come out for you! I never looked into wl points, but I heard you can stay at beach club for about the same points. Which I still think is strange.

I can barely sleep with only 4 days left.

Oh, we saw some very cute infant outfits on Saturday!
True, your princess may not get it all, but you will have so much fun! I give kudos to families who take babies. My kids were already 7 & 8 when we discovered WDW in '81, so I never had to think about taking a very little one.

We've rented points a few times - BWV, OKW and the value and std at AKV are a very good deal. Depending on the time of year, it can less than a moderate. ::yes:: VWL and BCV are the same point cost, which I don't understand either. I was thinking location, but BWV has the same location as BCV and many like BWV rooms much better. We've had a studio 3 times and a one bedroom in 2008 when I went with a friend and her 2 yr old. A one bedroom is amazing, esp the washer/dryer! I used it everyday just for me!:rotfl: That might be a great option for your little family now that you have a princess!

I can't believe you'll be back there in 4 days!!!:cool1: We'll need a mini TR!:goodvibes:goodvibes

Only if one of the children is 2 or under and can sleep in a pack and play.

I hope you see this because things are posting out of order today.

I was looking into DVC but have not decided on it yet. I saw that the boardwalk was quite a bit cheaper and really don't understand why. Maybe it's the number of rooms or something. I do want to do AKL though it looks like our December plans changed and were only gonna be at WL.

I heard of the possibility of a new DVC at fw, I might do that if it ever happens. :rotfl: That was where my Dad started taking the family in 74. Holds bitter sweet memories of my Dad. So much I still have a hard time going over there. I go a little farther into the campground each visit.

I figure if I take my princess now, she will have a full life of Disney, just like I did. I can't think of a better way to start life.

Brian.

In 2003, when my parents parents passed, I could have bought into DVC outright, but the only one available at the time was SSR. Firends who own say buy where you'll love your home resort and I'm not crazy about SSR. Also, did not like the yearly dues and paying so much yet having so little control. It seems the DVC members are not treated as well when it comes to requests etc as regular guests. Pay all that $ and get less customer service?

As you already know, there is nothing better than making memories with your children at WDW. Mine came to me when they were young teens and said, "Mom, we don't know how to tell you this, but we're Mickey'd out." :rotfl:

I asked them how about we go to California instead? They were thrilled and did not mind having Anaheim as our base!:thumbsup2

It's wonderful you have those memories with your dad. When I go back to either WDW or Disneyland, it has bitter sweet memories for me too. My son passed in 1999 - every trip he is still with me.:littleangel:

Just noticed you said you'll not be at AKL in December? Have you stayed there yet? We did when it was brand new - a last minute trip, booked std, made no requests and were upgrade to Savannah view at check-in. We declined  saying we did not relaly like zoos and asked if she could give us a pool view instead. She begged us to try the Savannah view and said she'd find a us good one. We did and I LOVED it!!! Did not want to leave the balcony, even though it was August as hot as hades!! Have not been back, but my friend and I are seriously considering it for our big birthday trip.:thumbsup2

No I have not stayed there yet. Was thinking of going this weekend, but with only 3 days we decided it was not worth the hassle of moving. Besides were doing the MK only during extra magic hours so that quick boat ride back will be ideal.

I would not buy into SS either. I would only do AKL or wl right now through resale. The only issue with wl is that it expires in 2042 where AKL is 2057.
