Just got back today and had a wonderful stay at WL! We booked a standard rooms and were sprinkled with some courtyard pixie dust. We starting talking to the cast member about how we loved the water pageant and she started looking at other rooms that were available and she ended up giving us the most awesome room ever! Room is 5168 and it is at the end on the lodge closest to the lake. You have a 180 degree view of the lake and you can also see the fireworks over BLT. The sunrises right over the lake. In my opinion, best room ever!

That's great! Glad you had a magical stay:thumbsup2 Thank you for your review:goodvibes

We could see the top of the fireworks but there was a tree in the way. I don't know what they are doing in the construction area.

Thanks for the response. Only a couple more weeks and I'll be there to take in all the sights - yeah!!! My kids are excited to try this resort and they are looking forward to visiting the Cub's Den. They loved the Neverland Club last year and they can't wait to have their own time this year too.

Quick report about our stay at WL from 4/30-5/5:

This was our first time staying here & staying on Club Level. We really enjoyed the resort. The staff was very friendly. I did find the rooms a little small, but they were nice. We had a nice view of the pool & Bay Lake. Our room was the last one on the hallway, next to a suite & was very quiet. Very short walk to the elevators that take you down near Roaring Forks. Right outside our room, at the corner of the hall, we could open the shutters & watch the fireworks at Magic Kingdom. This was great for us since our 3 year old son likes to look at fireworks but hates the noise. Club Level was nice. We did breakfast there every morning, except for 1 time. All the food was fresh. Loved the convenience of being able to do this. And they were very helpful in Club Level in providing us with whatever we needed. Transportation was great. I will say this: the boat to MK is nice but the bus is so much better (quicker & hardly ever anyone on it). Every night, we came back to animal towels & my DS' fuzzy friends arranged in cute scenarios (usually watching TV). We would definitely stay here again!

Soooo excited to be back - our third stay at WL! :cool1:

Anyone have an update on the bus stop construction? I thought I saw the hot tub and geyser are running again, is that correct?

Finally - anything new/special going on to be aware of.

Thanks so much in advance!

Sounds like and awesome room. I've wanted to stay down on the end of the south wing, but never had the chance. Of course last time I got a Bear-Faced room which was incredible and I will be spoiled for life!

Brian

Brian, the thing I've always wondered about the Bear Face rooms is if the tall pine trees block any view? I need a room with lots of natural light, which can be a challenge at WL. Special Needs blocks a room for us and if we have a room number that helps a lot - never suggested one of the bear face room #'s for fear they might be extra dark (we have an unusual special need so they are wonderful and work with us to find a room).:thumbsup2

Thanks!

I stayed in 5075. It was a king bed room though. The pine trees did not block my room and it had wonderful sunlight. I'd think that 5071 and 5073 would have similar views without the trees. The 4th floor rooms would most likely be similar. :confused3

Hope that helps!

Just came back last night after 4 nights at the WL. It pains me to say anything negative about this resort as it has always been my favorite resort (and it still is!). BUT.... we found the room we were assigned (4034) to be lacking in cleanliness. The vent was covered with dust as was the mirror, the upper soap holder in the shower was caked with dried soap, there was a "hair" on the shower wall (just gross), the tub floor was stained yellow and up the sides to about 2-3", the tv had streaks across the front of it where it was wiped with a wet rag and then just dried and DH woke up to the sight of dust bunnies blowing over the curtains. Once we realized all of these things, DH started observing the rest of the resort as a whole more closely. He was very disappointed. I'm much more tolerant of things... except a dirty bathroom. Has anyone else noticed this resort slipping a bit? I liked this room's location... right off the elevator, Woods View facing MK over the Otter Pond. Oh, there was a 3-3 1/2' alligator in the pond while we were there. Very cool. We were told they had been trying to trap it for awhile without success.

Unfortunately, in the last few years we've had this experience at every resort at every level - it is disheartening, but we've come to expect it and take along disinfectant wipes to clean the room. If the bathroom is too bad, we call housekeeping and ask for a manager. We noticed the changes after Disney began to outsource housekeeping and housekeepers had more rooms to clean.

Last November our VWL room was in pretty decent shape and the cleanest we've seen in a while, but we spent one day in a Lodge HC room and experienced exactly what you described - so much so that when I first started reading I wondered if it was the same room.

Probably depends on the housekeeper as some guests do say their room was fine...but have heard more and more complaints the last few years - rooms as well as public areas.

Thanks much for taking the time to share your experience. :goodvibes

wow this is very disapointing info:sad2:....hope this is not the case we we r there in a few weeks. I noticed this when we stayed in a pirate room at CBR but never had a dirty or not top notch room at AKV. hmmm kinda worried

If you have an unclean room, ask to have it cleaned again. I had to do this at POR a while back. I stayed in the room and made sure it was cleaned to my standard.

The management needs to know when mousekeeping is not doing a good job so it can be fixed. When we don't speak up then they dont know.

Hi WL Experts,

I am staying at the WL during my honeymoon and I have an 8:05 reservation at Crystal Palace on a day when MK opens at 9am? I read through the boat info on the first page of this thread, and it looks like it would be no problem taking the boat from WL to MK to make this reservation. Any thoughts?

Thanks!
