The Wilderness Lodge and Villas FAQ (Part 7) Simbas and Tiggers and Humphreys OH MY!

We were in 4034 Woods View (check the room location map). We had a castle view through an opening in the trees and could see most of the fireworks. The fireworks are to the right of the castle as you look out. This room is located directly in front of the Otter Pond. The service area is on the left side of the balcony. There's a bit of noise (like air conditioning units make) if you're sitting out there but totally quiet inside the room. The only thing that might bother you inside the room are the horns blowing from the transportation boats..... and they start EARLY.

So I can ask for a room that overlooks the otter pond to get a good shot at some nightly fireworks and a fairly quiet room. Thanks so much!!

that would be neat but we dont know what u or ur family looks like???

oops sorry.... ;)

Hey everyone
So we are taking the long flight from England on Saturday morning and are excited to be staying at WL for the first time :)
I wanted to say thanks so much for this great thread and answering my many questions :)
Sooooooo excited !!!!!

Just so I'm being clear.... I could see the castle through the opening in the trees but the fireworks were to the right and BEHIND the trees. We were on the 4th floor. If you could score a higher level in that section you would have an even better view I would think!
;) Hope you have a great time!!

Thanks for sharing the pic now Brian and I will know who you are to say hello. I know the place is big but I am guessing we wil run into each other on the boat, bus or eating spot. Have a great day!!!
We are getting excited!

Does anybody know if there are rooms that have a MK view at the WL that aren't directly above the delivery area? I would love to see fireworks from the room; however, my priority is a quiet room. Thanks!

The club level rooms on the MK side are all over the service area. I wish I had better news.

We are doing CL, so we'll be on the 7th floor. I hope that means we can see them above the trees.

Thanks Brian. So the 7th floor doesn't go down the wings. No otter pond or fireworks for me then. Maybe a nice south side, courtyard view room. Of course, for WL that means my view could be the creek or the WLV courtyard, right?

I'm sure this is a repeat question but I searched this forum and didn't find an answer within 15 minutes so I'm just going to ask it! :confused3 What is the correct way to put a room request in these days? Do you just call reservations and ask them to note it on your reservation? The last time I did this it involved a fax and I think I read somewhere that's not the case anymore. We are heading to WL in 10 days and are so excited. Anyone have any experience with the standard view lobby rooms? We live in the middle of the woods in GA, so don't think the 2 13yo boys I'm taking would care much about an outside view since it looks pretty much like our backyard. Would these be the closest to bus transportation? What standard view rooms would any of you recommend? Thanks!

The 7th floor goes half way down each wing. South wing CY view would be a really nice area. On the south wing you with face the upper part of the courtyard or the woods/villas building.

I'd definitely email IPO and have them put a CY view on your reservation.

You need to call CRO asap and put a request on if you haven't. If you want to be close to the bus stops then put in that you want a room that overlooks the lobby. The view from the balcony may not be nice, but there are rocking chairs overlooking the lobby area right outside the room door.

Good luck!!

Brian

That is too funny!!! :rotfl2: I'll have to remember to suggest that in the future.

We check into the Lodge on 6/3 to 6/6.

Brian

We check in on May 30th and we're there until the 7th!!!! Maybe we'll all run into each other!!!

I'll be there at the same time (or some of the same days) as y'all! Here's a pic of me, DH & the kids. We will be in the villas but are BIG pool people and are there every afternoon. Hope to see you!

LOVE that hat!!!!! We're big pool people too! We'll see you there! (should have put a picture of the kids with us.... not sure why I didn't! :headache:)

So if I have upgraded my room to a standard club level room, can I still request courtyard view off the lobby? Or should I change the room request to include either North or South wing to avoid a room overlooking the service areas?

I have stayed in a woods view room overlooking the otter pond before, but never stayed club level at this resort.

I am so excited and counting the days.

We had our 1st every stay at WL from April 30th to May 5th. I ended up upgrading us to Club Level about a month before our trip. I did request a courtyard view and this is what we got:

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Does anyone has pic or a link to a thread with pics of the campfire thingy at FW? Want to know if it is busy/packed? Is it worth it or skip it? And how far is it from WL? one more ? if u go to the campfire can u bring ur own smores stuff or drinks. We will have this stuff since we r staying in the villas in a 1bdrm? I know lots of questions but I know you guys will help me. TIApopcorn::

Thank you sooooo much for all of your help. I'm going to e-mail them now with my request. We (me, DH, and DD9) are counting the days - just 17 left - until we are at the Lodge!!! I'd put some super smilies here, but I'm not allowed to do that yet ;-)

Okay - so I have been obsessively checking out this link....
http://dvcnews.com/index.php/resorts/villas-at-wilderness-lodge/maps-a-photos

to figure out what I should request on my villa reservation...

We have a one bedroom reserved.... I know you can't request specific rooms.... but I have my eye on 1504 - it looks bigger than some of the other 1 bedrooms.... so I thought I could ask for ground floor, near elevators facing pool.....

what do you all think? Does anyone have any specific experience with this room? or know anything about it's location and if it is not good.....

any ideas/advice/comments are appreciated!
