We are going during spring break next year and I'm thinking of requesting Woods view, but I want to be near the laundry and restaurants. What request would I make?

We booked a woods view room next week- first time staying at WL and I am sooo excited!:cool1:

I would really prefer a 1st floor room as I would really worry about my 2 year old and the balcony. Looking at the map it looks like the rooms in the "U" shape part have both 1st floor and woods view. Does anyone know if the rooms that open into the lobby also have a woods view and 1st floor. I just can't tell from the pictures. I didn't make a request, just wondering how the resort is set up....
The lobby is on level 2 with rooms there starting on level 4, so you cannot have a lobby room on the ground floor. Any woods view rooms on the ground floor end in 004 to 034 on the map on page 1. That is north wing, I believe.

As mentioned above, try the north wing (rooms ending 004 - 034) near the elevators. Roaring Fork is located on the ground floor (under rooms ending 035 - 041). The sit down restaurants are also on the north side, level 2.

im confused about the layout of the resort and where certain rooms are (for requesting purposes).

we are staying in a 2 bedroom condo - which way do they face?

The condos are in a separate building then the WL rooms.

Here is a map

The U shaped building is the Lodge. The squashed S building off to the right is the Villas. That is where you will find the condos. They seem to either face the lake or the woods.

Just wanted to share decision about no longer making room requests. We are lucky enough to go to WL three times this year and having stayed many times before both woods view and Courtyard I have yet to have a bad room. THat does not mean that others should not make a request but after many stays we have found that we like all our locations. We love walking through WL grounds and pointing up to various sections and saying remember the tripwe stayed in that room. If I had to make a request mine was 5th floor north wing woods view( castle in background with trees) but each has great memories. So if you don't get what you asked for don't worry, you can still have a great time. I will never forget time husband stressed because we did not get poly longhouse we requested(after weeks of agonizing researching etc). We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in and surprise, Cinderella's castle right in front of us(garden view room). I will control my travel planning addiction and no longer stress over room requests( a roll of the dice sometimes better than I could ever ask for) SO if you don;t get what you want don;t worry you can still have a great trip.

I'm with you! We've always been lucky enough to be upgraded on our trips to WL and have always had a great time. That's not to say I am against making requests, but for us, we are really laid back about the whole thing. I don't care where we are, we'll be HOME!! :)

I hear you! Don't worry, be happy!
Don't care where they stick us on the 7th floor. :happytv:
We are just happy to be going to Disneyworld!!!! YEA!!!!!! :woohoo:

HI
I am going to WL in dec!!! Just upgraded due to that wonderful 40% off pode code everyone is trying to get!! I was only able to get woodsview bunkbed rms. I do have 2 little boys so it should be fun but I was just wondering how others that have stayed in them like them? Are they twin sized beds btw? I only ask this because my mother and brother are staying in the same type of rm and my mother has claimed the Queen so my 26 yr old brother is gonna be bunk bedding it (shhhhhh he doesnt know lol) Is he gonna be hanging off the bed? TIA:goodvibes

Yes the bunk beds are twin size! We stayed in a bunk bed room a few years ago at AKL and my son loved the bunk beds. He slept on the top bunk! This year I asked him if we should book a bunk bed room or 2 queens at WL and he said no bunk beds...I want my own big bed so I can stretch out! By the way my son is eight! Good luck to your brother! :) You will love the WL - I was there at Thanksgiving 2008 and it was beautifully decorated for the holidays! I am looking forward to being there again this summer!
Have fun planning!
Debbie

Does anyone know if rooms 6081-6090 have enclosed balconies? These are the rooms on the north side of the lobby on the 6th floor, above Whispering Canyon Cafe.

We are booked for woods view rooms and are hoping to glimpse the MK fireworks from our balcony, but would prefer to sit while we watch, not stand.

Thanks for your help!

Page 1 of this thread does not indicate that these rooms have the enclosed balconies, therefore I think it is safe to assume they do not.

To everyone traveling to the lodge today and this week..have a great time and tell Humphrey we'll see him real soon! :)
