Did you see the Club Level pics on the previous page. Looks like a really nice breakfast spread! Take pics and share when you go!!

Brian

I DID see those pictures !! And it makes me even more excited. I post a lot more often closer to the time I am going so I can see my ticker, too :rotfl::rotfl2: I will most certainly take pictures and post and will most likely do a little TR for fun !!

I have a standard room, standard view booked. Are there any better locations to request?

There are 9 rooms on the 4th floor over the check-in. They have a view of the bus stop rooftop, so not the most requested rooms. One person on here asks for them because there are rocking chairs on that level right outside the room, so you can sit and enjoy the lobby.

There are 39 rooms in the north wing on the 4th-6th floors. They overlook the service area and the smoke house for the restaurant. The complaints are the beeping from the trucks backing into the service area in the morning.

My personal suggestion is to request the north wing, high floor. The top floor puts you further from the noise.

Hope this helps.

Great info! Thanks so much!

Hi! :wave2:

DH and I are going to WL for the first time in July :yay: and we currently have a standard view booked. What I'm wondering is...should I just leave our room assignment to chance or should I try to make a request? I mean, a "bad" view won't exactly ruin our trip. I can handle looking at a roof. But are there other things (i.e. noise) I should be worried about? We are early rises and like to be at rope drop, but we do like to come back in the afternoon to nap. I've read about the delivery trucks bothering guests in the morning and wasn't sure if they are a factor in the afternoon. Any thoughts/opinions would be appreciated!

TIA! :goodvibes

What a beautiful view!!

Our trip is in eight days...

The WL is photogenic, isn't it?

I hope you have a wonderful trip. I think the weather will be gorgeous and you'll have no crowds; what a great time to be able to go.

Great pictures! Hope our courtyard view is that nice! Also hope the weather stays warmer...I noticed it's going to be a fairly warm week out there. I know we're taking our chances with a trip at the end of Jan, but we'd really like it to be in the 70s!

Thank you. There are more photos on previous pages.

Don't worry about going at the end of January. The weather is almost always a gamble most times of the year, what with hurricanes, tropical storms, extreme heat, humidity, cold, rainy... You'll adapt and have a great trip no matter what the weather.

I love your pictures:love: In fact, I will be using one of them as my wallpaper. I hope that is OK.

Thanks! Go right ahead and use it as wallpaper. I'm going to do the same thing.

So glad you are getting some beautiful days!

Thanks for the pics - that's a nice room view!! Happy New Year!

Happy 2011 to you, too. When will you be returning to the Lodge? I'm in the date planning phase now. DH loves both the CR and the WL and wants to stay at one of them again when he returns from his deployment. Looks like I may have to do a split-stay again:scratchin

Will it work?
Is there WiFi in the DVC rooms? In all the non-DVC rooms at the WDW Resorts, you either have to use the provided cord or you can connect it to an Apple AirPort Extreme to have WiFi in the room. That's what my DH does with his iPad in Afghanistan.

Just explained the standard room question in post #2122. Have fun!

Brian,... I am just now reading about your "experience" at the lodge ...... we too had an issue. WE came back from MK on our first night and after getting ready for bed ...I went to take my medicine and discovered my makeup case missing ... we tore the room apart...and then FINALLY after about 45 minutes to an hour called the Front Desk. I explained what was missing and that the safe key was in my makeup case..the safe had our car keys and passports in it. After about 45 minutes a manager came up with security and questioned us ....the manager kept walking around the room "looking" behind things .... SERIOUSLY ..If I had "lost" the safe key I would admit it and pay the dang $80 OR come up with a better story than my make up case being stolen ... this was at 1 am .... by the time they left it was 2am ...the manager told us that a locksmith would be coming to our room to change the lock and asked if we would be up ... we said yes....well at 6 am we were still waiting ... so I walked down to the parking lot to check to make sure our van was still there ... and then stopped at the front desk ... they knew NOTHING about what was going on ... I explained that we couldn't leave and hadn't slept (well about an hour or two, but not comfortably) because we were waiting on a locksmith. She said that a member of management and housekeeping would have to come up ... WHAT ??? So I went back to the room and told my husband .... he got dressed and went down to the front desk .. it was now 6:45 am or so .... they told him that the general manager wouldn't be in till like 10 or so but that the morning manager was there .. he said , well can I talk to him/her?...the morning manager came out and he explained our situation ...... he came up to the room and the manager and a member of maintenance followed about 5 minutes later ... by this time it was almost 7:30, we had a reservation at Chef Mickey's for 7:25 !!!! Oh well...I was more concerned about what might be missing from the safe ... we still had searched the room all night ..... well they open the safe and guess what is in there :scared1: my make up case ... NO, I DID NOT PUT IT IN THERE NOR DID MY HUSBAND ... well they changedthe lock and gave us the new key which my husband kept with him ...... our housekeeper was rude the rest of the week to us .... we NEVER FOUND THE OTHER KEY !!!

The morning manager gave us a $100 credit for our "lack of sleep" ... that's it .... which is okay and I will go back, but seriously ... someone stole the key to my safe and tried to set us up ...... I just wish I knew what happened.

Looking forward to my next visit .... hopefully better than my first LOL

Yikes, I'm a little scared with those reports of bad visits to WL. I just booked a 1 BDR villa with the new discount code...but maybe I should switch to another resort???

We are planning to stay at the Lodge this November during Thanksgiving week. Our autistic son picked the lodge mainly because he is now obsessed with Hoop de Doo review. What is the fastest way to pioneer hall?

These kind of things can happen anywhere and are actually quite rare. I am going back to the lodge in 10 days and am looking forward to it!!!

Wow... That is really bizarre! Glad you received some type of compensation. I know our next trip will be better!!

Fastest way is by bus. Many people take the boat though because it i more of an adventure.

Alright - I'll take your word for it :thumbsup2 I've posted here off an on and I can not believe that after 3 years of wanting to stay at WL, I will be there!! Am so excited that the room discount code came out and I booked today! I'll be there 5/28 - 6/3...so just wait, I'll be asking a LOT of questions!

Here's the first...set :)

I see another poster asked about getting to Pioneer Hall for the show and you recommended the bus over the boat to get there quicker. So...can you walk there too? And what would you say the estimated times are for using the bus, boat, or walking (if possible)?

And what is this about being able to take a boat to Contemporary? Is it a boat just between the two resorts or is it a 'stop' on a boat to MK? For that matter, is the boat to MK a straight shot or are there stops?

I have not had the greatest luck with boats from MK to the Poly so I'm not really fond of their boat system but I think that WL may be different since it is not as small of a boat as the one to Poly/MK.

Ok, thanks!!!!
