The "Why I didn't speak to my sister for a week" trip report *** Now Complete :)

Oy Marina! Your sister is driving me CRAZY!!!! I can only begin to imagine how you felt on this trip! I swear, I would have gone down to the lobby and asked them to move me to another room and NOT told the other two where I was going...then just pretended there were only 2 of us on this trip! I would have left a message for them at the front desk every morning to let them know where we were, just in case, then headed off and not given them a second thought!

I am getting worried though because next year we are planning to go back and we invited my dad and my step-mom to go with us...they haven't officially said yes but just as they are warming up to the idea, I am getting cold feet! I'm going to be so upset if they don't have a good time...or worse if they ruin it for us! I know my dad will be cool but my step-mom worries me a bit.... I think what I'm going to do is make the schedule, and make them come with us the first 4 days of the trip so that they can experience each of the parks the "real way" lol!! If they don't like me after that and want to go their own way, then at least they will have the schedule so they know where we are and what time our meals are but other than that they can do whatever they want.

And I am also jealous (but not in quotes like Jessica...I'm really jealous! lol) of your trip to the Poly! Aren't you guys leaving like today or tomorrow?? I bought the "Luxury Guide to WDW Resort" yesterday at the book store - not realizing that it only gives you information on the really expensive stuff like all the deluxe resorts, the expensive restaurants, etc. And although we spend 14-15 hours a day out in the parks and don't even use the resort for anything but sleeping & showering...I SOOOO want to stay at a Deluxe one day!

Oh my.... You know, I'm starting to feel bad ... the number of people who are scared of taking a trip with family because of this TR grows every day
I like your idea of going with them the first 4 days and then leaving them to do what they want - which might include staying with you !

For sure I would stay at a Value if it was that or nothing! And we did stay at CSR! Ironically we stayed there in October 2007! Same as you! We were there a couple weeks before you though..we checked in on the 5th and out on the 14th and we were also in Casitas 5! I absolutely love it there! I think we are going to try and stay there again next year, depending on finances...

For tax reasons, I think, only guests from the US/Canada and a few other countries can win the big prizes. We can win Dreampasses though, I'd settle for one of those

Well that just sucks a big one! Well, I will be sending that pixie dust for Dream Fast Passes then!

So, we're leaving again in about three days. Thursday morning, 6am, to be exact

And here I am second-guessing our itinerary.
What do you think ???

July 31st - arrival day
Plane should land at 6.40pm, so I'm guessing we'll make it to the Poly by 8pm.
(We've decided to check a bag after all!).
Check in, have a bite at Captain Cook's and then off to Walmart.

August 1st
Hollywood Studios morning EMH
- Toy Story Mania
- Tower of Terror if I grow b... by then
- Maybe Disney Animation or Great Movie Ride
Leave HS around 10am and off to Contemporary for brunch with Mickey!

Rest for a bit at the resort then off to Premium Outlets around 3pm.
Dinner at Kona 7.10pm, and then Magic Kingdom.

August 2nd
Animal Kingdom morning EMH.
Safari, Kali, Bug, Nemo or Lion King....
Breakfast at Donald's 10.15am.
Leave after breakfast - back to the Poly for short rest.

Afternoon at Florida Mall.

Dinner at Fulton's Crab House 9pm (I'll think we'll go there straight from Florida Mall unless we're dirty or something).

August 3rd
Epcot Morning EMH
Soarin', Test Track, Misson Space, Ellen's...
World Showcase
Lunch at Coral Reef, then back to the Poly.

Resort time : pool, beach etc...

Magic Kingdom EMH. Mostly we want to get a good spot for Spectro and I wanna ride Astro Orbiter.

August 4th
Sleep in. Breakfast at Kona 10.30am.
No idea what we'll do in the afternoon ?? Maybe DTD or it's possible I'll go by MK by myself for the parade.
Dinner at Boma 5.5pm
Animal Kingdom evening EMH.

August 5th
Magic Kingdom morning EMH.
Breakfast at Crystal Palace 10.05am.
We'll probably stay at MK 'til about noon or whenever it gets too hot.

Afternoon rest at the Poly.

Epcot evening EMH with Tutto Italia dinner at 5.45pm. Hopefully we'll be able to ride Soarin' again. And I'd really like to try Test Track at night!

August 6th
'Ohana breakfast with Stitch at 7.30am.
Pool/resort time until DME picks us up, which will probably be around 11am.


Here's what bugs me about this itinerary : we're not seeing Fantasmic!

I'm thinking we should go on the night of August 1st after Kona instead of MK EMH. We don't even intend to stay for the EMH anyway since we want to be up early the next day. But we're at the Poly and isn't that stupid to be on the monorail and spend our first day at a park where we need to take a bus ?? On the other hand, maybe we could get Toy Story FPs for the evening and have another ride before the 10.30 Fantasmic (or after, depending if we make the first one or not). Should I change our Kona ADR for an earlier time so we can make the first one???? But then if I do that,we need to leave earlier for the outlets. I'm confused!!!

I don't usually read a lot of the trip reports, but I stumbled into yours today and I am ashamed to admit that I have spent almost my whole Sunday afternoon reading all of your updates!!! This is the best thing I have ever read!!!!!!!! I love it!! I cannot wait for the rest. I was even reading it out loud to DH, and he was cracking up.

You are a saint! I would have dumped your sister by day #2 or at least that day she didn't want to walk around the World Showcase. How can you go to Epcot and NOT do the WS????!!!!

I would do WDW with you any time! Sounds like we just missed you in April (we were there the 5th - 12th) and now you are going about 3 weeks before us. Too bad! Have a great trip! You have earned it!!!!

I would try for an earlier ADR at Kona on 8/1 then go to Fantasmic. You already have an evening planned at the MK for EMH so the 1st seems like the best place to plug Fantasmic in. I'm sure no matter what you end up doing you'll have a great time...you're going to be with someone who wants to do things rather than "rest" all the time.

I stayed at the poly last September with my bff. We had a mommy vacation. It was so awesome. This was the first vacation that I wasn't in full planner commando mode. This resort just made us want to relax and enjoy. I loved it so much I'm taking my family there this September, they don't know we are staying at the poly yet. I'm excited I'm really loving your TR, unfortunately your sister doesn't share yours and Grumpy's love of all things Disney, I hope you were able to salvage some magic for the rest of your trip. You and Gumpy I am sure will make up for anything lost once ya'll hit the poly Enjoy and have tons of fun, oh lets see more pics of you having this fun!!!

Nope, no flip flops for the Turkey. It's at the top of my list for this trip though.

Okay, the Secret Spot ... I'll share When you're at the castle, right at the entrance of the Tomorrowland Bridge, there's a tiny little path that goes behind the popcorn cart and back on Main Street. That's where we stand and watch the fireworks. The best part of this spot is no one can stand in front of you at the last minute! I loveeee this spot.

It's the blue spot.
