The "Why I didn't speak to my sister for a week" trip report *** Now Complete :)

I am like completely addicted to this trip report. My life is a complete and total mess right now (don't ask!) and this trip report is my little escape and makes me laugh! Please don't make us wait until you return before you post more!!!!!!!!!!!

 sorry to hear you're having a tough time but I'm glad this is making you laugh :)

So they left. We didn't ask where they were going - we didn't care.
Forget about them, focus on pretty castle.

From our Secret Spot we waited for Wishes, looked at the castle and talked. I asked Grumpy if I'd been that much of a pain in the butt on our first trip ? After all, I had needed an ECV too, for several days. And I had been sick, too.

(On that subject, Jessi refused to take an ECV at MK that evening. Even though it was paid for, and she'd gotten the hang of it at AK after a while.I still don't understand why.)

Grumpy said I'd been a bit annoying, but the difference was she didn't need to force me out of bed several times a day. I think that's the part that bothered us the most on this trip.

Anyway... the fireworks were amazing !!! Pink, blue ! A pirate's life for me! I think they are MUCH better than Hallowishes.

After the fireworks we walked over to Tomorrowland. We found Jessi & Alex sitting at the very far end of the Tomorrowland bridge. Under a tree. I don't see how they could have possibly seen any of the fireworks from that spot. You can't even see the castle because of the trees.
I didn't even mention it, wasn't worth the hassle.

"Grumpy & I are going to ride Buzz Lightyear. You guys are coming?"

Yes, they'll come with us. They say. On the way there Jessi coughs twice. Grumpy asks her if she wants a sweatshirt.

"What's the use. I'm sc... now."

Yeah, she coughed twice. Call John Carter, QUICK!
I ignore her.

We get in line - if you call that a line, it was a 10mns wait at most. I hear Alex grumble to Jessi that "this is a stupid kids' ride!". Alex knows everything about every thing. Nevermind the fact that she hasn't experienced most of the things she talks about.

Jessi taps me on the shoulder
"We're going to go get coffee okay?"

And they leave the queue. Smiling.

It takes Grumpy a couple minutes to realize that they're gone.

"Where are they ???"
"Didn't you hear ? Jess wanted coffee. And Alex thought it was a kid's ride.So they left."
"Are you KIDDING ME?????????"

Oooooh they got Grumpy, Grumpy. :scared1:

"They've dumped us three times in less than 3 hours!!! That's IT. I am DONE. We'll do what we want and don't bother with them, and they can get back to the resort by themselves. Turn off your cell phone, I don't even want them calling us."

We rode Buzz Lightyear twice and enjoyed it. Jessi & Alex love video games and all that target shooting stuff. I know they'd have liked it. But Alex decided it was a kiddie ride, and even if it had been ? Couldn't they make an effort and ride with us, it was what, 3 minutes of their lives... Grumpy rode Everest with me even though just looking at the mountain scared the hoopla out of her.

When we leave Buzz, I see Jessi & Alex at the coffee place under Astro Orbiter. We walk right by them and ignore them. I hear Jessi calling us but we don't stop. At some point we do have to stop because we found restrooms and needed to use them, badly. Grumpy had to talk to Jessi but I kept on ignoring her and went in.

Guess what ? They'd found another Frenchie ! This time it was the guy at the coffee place. And not only was he French, he was also Asian, like Alex! Holy shmoly, that's the kind of stuff people go to Disney for !

I met Grumpy outside and we went to Fantasyland. We felt like going on Small World and again I attempted to take some decent pics.

We then went on Peter Pan, watched a bit of a dance party, and then moved on to Haunted Mansion.

IMG_5952.jpg

How can you go to a Pirate & Princess party and not do Pirates of the Carribean ?? We stopped to ride Splash Mountain on the way - NO WAIT!!! Then, POTC. We got pretty wet on Splash and it's cold in POTC so we were both freezing, but at least this time I had plenty of butt space.

Just as we left they were starting a Captain Jack Pirate tutorial (I think. Anyway, it was something with pirates)! We watched for a little while. It was pretty funny and both guys were doing a great job.

That's when we realized that we had totally forgotten to hunt for loot. Our bags were empty. So we looked at the map and hit a few spots, got a few necklaces and some jewels. I think what I like best was the little pouch anyway.

It was almost time for the party to end :( Grumpy & I walked back through Frontierland and we ended up in front of Aloha Isle. I'd heard so much about that Dole Whip but never tasted one. Since we were here, and wouldn't be coming back to MK this trip, I had to have one. Grumpy got pineapple juice and we shared. MMMMMMMMMM it was sooo good !!! And the best thing is, it's dairy free. The perfect treat.

We left Magic Kingdom, stopping by the Emporium in search of Hannah Montana flip flops. Nada. The ladies working there even went in the back to check but all they had in adult sizes was XL. I looked at some other HM stuff, especially a cute memo board, but Grumpy said she'd cut me out of the will if I spend $20 on something with that "stupid girl on it".

:scared1:

Soon we were back at CSR. The girls were already here. We asked them how long they'd been back ?

"We left right after we had coffee."

So, in a nutshell, this is what they did :
- Looked at Astro Orbiter.
- Went to the bathroom.
- Sat while not watching fireworks.
- Had coffee.

Party animals !!!!!

Grumpy & I were both beat so we just got in bed and slept through the night.
The next morning, we had nothing planned. We knew we'd be tired because we had stayed up late for the party. Still, Grumpy & I were both up by 8. We started packing a little bit (it was almost the end of our trip :() watched some TV and started discussing money matters.

We'd made a budget before leaving and had brought mostly cash. With all those canceled dinners, we had extra money. What could we do with it ? Maybe an evening cruise in Miami once we were in Fort Lauderdale. We looked up some info online.

Around 10.30 we started wondering when Jessi & Alex expected to wake up. If they were tired, we didn't have to go to a park today, but that didn't mean we were going to stay in our room all day long either.

I called their room. I got Alex.

"Jessica told me to tell you we'd like to rest today, for a change."

I have been reading this not posting but you are a SAINT!!!!!!! I would have already told my sister she was a lazy ********************* and that she was ruining the trip. This is so something my sister would do. Its almost like they dont care because they arent paying for it. They didnt have to work for it and you sure did.

I hope she is jealous that you are going again and I hope you have a great time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:yay:

My goodness. MORE rest? The P&PP sounds like so much fun. :goodvibes
I hope you have tons of fun on your Poly trip (I'm certainly jealous). I think it'll be even better than your other trips because you'll remember what happened during your last one. ;)

Rest...:lmao: :rotfl2: Yep, going to MK & sitting around drinking coffee sure takes alot of energy. Just when I think they can't get any lazier, you tell us something that tops the last lazybutt thing. What will they do next? Can't wait to read more.popcorn::

Close to that. What Jessi liked best in Ft Lauderdale ? Winn-Dixie and 7-11. Now I have to admit that when I first stayed in FL I was pretty impressed with those too. We live in a country that basically shuts down at 7pm so for us, going to 7-11 and being able to buy donuts and ginger ale at 2am is amazing. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: Oh my gosh... I never thought of Winn Dixie and 7-11 as being such happening fun places, but hey...I can see that. :lmao: I mean who wouldnt love a donut at 2am??? When you come back from this your trip, tell Jess -that she would have loved it....tell her they put a 7-11 in at your resort and a Winn Diixie in Epcot. :rotfl2: She will be REALLY jealous then. :thumbsup2

Great update!! I cannot believe that is all they did at the party! I am glad to hear you and Grumpy went your own way and had a great time!! Can't wait to read more.

Here's somethin pretty to look at while you wait :

I am so loving your trip report and I am so glad that you and your Mom are able to go back to WDW "alone" so you can really enjoy it....but I have to know.....did you end up finding your HM flip flops before you left?????

I'd like to know more about your "secret" spot for watching the fireworks....your pictures are great!!!!!

/
Are you and/or your mom, um, "vertically challenged"? Because, and I'm only 5' tall myself, she looks like a squirt in your pictures. On the other hand, your sister and her gf look like giants! Maybe it's just camera angles . . . :rolleyes1 And furthermore, if you're "pooh sized", I'm a monkey's uncle!

We're all "vertically challenged" LMAO love the expression. Grumpy's about 4'10, Alex is 5', Jessi & I are 5'2.

And we're all "horizontally challenged" too :rotfl2: Especially Jessi and I.

A monkey's uncle??????????????????????

Nope, no flip flops for the Turkey. It's at the top of my list for this trip though.

Okay, the Secret Spot ... I'll share :) When you're at the castle, right at the entrance of the Tomorrowland Bridge, there's a tiny little path that goes behind the popcorn cart and back on Main Street. That's where we stand and watch the fireworks. The best part of this spot is no one can stand in front of you at the last minute! I loveeee this spot.

MAP.jpg

It's the blue spot.

Another great update :thumbsup2 I'm so glad you and Grumpy decided to do your own thing, that would have been an expensive coffee for those two, if they had actually paid for something :scared1: Thanks for the veiwing spot tip, we'll try this one in Dec.

Shame about the flip flops, hope you get a pair soon! I was looking at your trip dates in your siggie, any chance you'll be there this Dec? I'd love to meet up with a fellow Diser (promise I'm not a crazy stalker type!).

I've got a question (sorry to go OT) but your avatar pic, did Stitch nick your camera :confused3 it's like one of those 'sneaky' pics your friends take when you leave your camera lying around :rotfl2:

Loved your castle & fireworks pics!!

   Yay, only 4 more days for you!!   This trip will be SO much better!!

This is the best trip report I have read. You are a saint for not killing your sister, hope you have a great time on your trip with out her.

Both you and your mother deserve an award for putting up with them al long as you did. I thnik on day 2 I would have said hree is a list of ADRs, we'll see you if we see you.

I hope your next trip is much, much better.

Marivaid, you've had me glued to your TR. I am taking my Mom and my Sister for the first time next April. My family has always called me nuts for loving Disney and taking all my vacations there. I've tried to take my sis twice but she declined. I just know she would love it if she went. I'm always saying "Eeyore would love this" and I so wanted to share it with her. So I gave her the trip as a birthday present hoping she'd find it harder to refuse. She accepted....but now, reading your TR I'm getting nervous. I've already bought the plane tickets. I'm actually more nervous about my mother...I just have this feeling she will end up staying at the resort most of the time. It's not something you want to think about when you're working overtime to pay for everything. They don't realize how special going to Disney is for us, nor how much of an investment it is to bring them. But we do it because we love them and want to share what's precious to us, with them. Your sister has no idea what a gift you gave to her, and she would deserve it if you never gave her another thing. Ingratitude hurts the givers heart. Bless you :flower3:

Great update! The pictures you took of the fireworks are awesome! We'll have to check out your secret spot. I'm so glad you get a do over trip with Grumpy. I hope y'all have a great time!!

 sorry to hear you're having a tough time but I'm glad this is making you laugh :)

Thanks sweetie...and btw - I would do Disney with you anytime! I hope you have a wonderful trip and that this one makes up for the last one....maybe you will win the ultimate dream - a night in the castle!!!! pixiedust: :tink: Sending you all the pixie dust I can muster!!!!

We can't win a night in the castle :(
For tax reasons, I think, only guests from the US/Canada and a few other countries can win the big prizes. We can win Dreampasses though, I'd settle for one of those :)

Don't worry too much, okay ? Go with the flow. And if they act like my sister : DUMP THEM !

Oy Marina! Your sister is driving me CRAZY!!!! I can only begin to imagine how you felt on this trip! I swear, I would have gone down to the lobby and asked them to move me to another room and NOT told the other two where I was going...then just pretended there were only 2 of us on this trip! I would have left a message for them at the front desk every morning to let them know where we were, just in case, then headed off and not given them a second thought!

I am getting worried though because next year we are planning to go back and we invited my dad and my step-mom to go with us...they haven't officially said yes but just as they are warming up to the idea, I am getting cold feet! I'm going to be so upset if they don't have a good time...or worse if they ruin it for us! I know my dad will be cool but my step-mom worries me a bit.... I think what I'm going to do is make the schedule, and make them come with us the first 4 days of the trip so that they can experience each of the parks the "real way" lol!! If they don't like me after that and want to go their own way, then at least they will have the schedule so they know where we are and what time our meals are but other than that they can do whatever they want.

And I am also jealous (but not in quotes like Jessica...I'm really jealous! lol) of your trip to the Poly! Aren't you guys leaving like today or tomorrow?? I bought the "Luxury Guide to WDW Resort" yesterday at the book store - not realizing that it only gives you information on the really expensive stuff like all the deluxe resorts, the expensive restaurants, etc. And although we spend 14-15 hours a day out in the parks and don't even use the resort for anything but sleeping & showering...I SOOOO want to stay at a Deluxe one day! :cloud9:

A monkey's uncle??????????????????????

It's an expression that implies neither of us are either thing. You're not large, and I'm not a monkey's uncle. Or aunt, for that matter! :lmao:

Maybe you're fluffy; I'll go that far, if you insist. ;)

OMG I bet you're so excited about your trip. It's going to be great!
