The "why do we keep trying to cram all this stuff into one trip?" report!

:rotfl: Isn't that what Disney's about for a grownup?! Being a kids again! I think DD7 may take a turn on the speeder, you may even get gander at me on it too! DS6 thinks is soooo cool that Mommy likes Star Wars.

True! It was kind of funny to have a little crowd cheering for me to take the lightsaber :rotfl: I'd love to see you on the speeder, we could have a club for adults brave enough to get on the speeder! It's really awesome that you love Star Wars; my mom supports me in my Star Wars obsession (I like how that makes it sound like a life choice or something)

I will also say "What, you didn't do TSM?" But hopefully you'll get in the CP and get many more chances to go on it.

And what's wrong with liking Star Wars?

I know, I know. But at rope drop we ran over to ToT and RnR and by the time we got over to TSM it was already like a half an hour wait. I'll definately do it next time. Isn't it like a shooting game?

And there's nothing wrong with loving Star Wars! It's just kind of funny that I can chat with my neighbor's eight year old son about various characters and we both watch the Clone Wars on Cartoon Network :lmao:

:wave2:

I just love all of the pictures that you took.

They are fantastic!!

Alright, so after DTD we swung by Epcot again because mom really wanted to go on Mission:Space again :rotfl:

We ended up going back to the Japan pavilion. When we went inside we could see a huge group of people crowded around the oyster tank. You could pick your own pearl and everyone was having a really good time. Mom and I decided to give it a go. It was so much fun because I got to speak in Japanese with all the girls! I should have gotten a picture with them but there was so much commotion that I didn't even think about it. Here's the tank

We both did really well! Here are mom's:

We were trying to get two that matched for earrings but no luck! So my mom made her's into a necklace for herself and my sister. Since my colors matched I got a necklace and a ring. They were pricey to set but it was a once in a life time thing. We had the BEST time picking them out and setting them. Everyone was cheering and they played the drums. It was awesome! They said I got the biggest pearl of the day too! :woohoo: Here are the final results.

Could you PM me about how much that whole thing cost?
I would love to give it a go, if the price can fit our budget.;)

Wow - looks like you guys were the only ones in HS! The above picture is so sad :sad1: I don't remember seeing that but will have to take a slower look at all the posters next month.

Those pearls are so beautiful - could you pm me the cost as well? I'd love to try that but also want to be prepared. Thanks!! Love your report - the pics are amazing!

Good job with the pearls!!! DD got one for her birthday on our trip in March! She got a beautiful champagne colored one!! The girl told us that the color is extremely rare and it's good luck!

Oooh you guys are lucky! It's such a fun experience.

Alright guys, i'm putting together the V&A post!

Hey, I've loved reading about your trip--makes me remember mine back in August! It sounds like you and your mom had a blast despite all of the travel problems so that's great!!! Anytime anything was about to go wrong or actually did go wrong I just told myself, you're in Disney World, you cannot be mad at Disney World. It worked really well, lol. :]

Also, side question, where did you live when you were in Houston--that's where I am!!!

Thanks for reading!

After we walked into Animal Kingdom all the problems and stress just melted away. Disney is amazing like that!

I lived right next to Westheimer. On Deerwood Road :)

Alright, so after the pearls we headed back to the hotel to get ready for dinner. Mom still had no idea where we were going :rotfl:

Here we are ready to go!

We actually got lost getting there  but we still had plenty of time. When we pulled up and the security officer asked where were going I said "V&A's" and her demeanor totally changed. She was like "well go right in! Valet parking is complementary! Enjoy your night!" I was cracking up. The hotel is incredibly gorgeous. I can't even begin to describe how beautiful it is. However, I don't think I would ever stay there. Don't get me wrong, it's like the nicest hotel i've ever seen but it was very stuffy. I'd much rather stay at the Poly or AKL. But everyone has different opinions about resorts. Here's some pictures I took before dinner.

That's such a great location! I'm right off of Allen Parkway at Montrose.

Now, Anna, I absolutely love the Grand Floridian! But I don't see it as stuffy. Being a "Southern Belle", it seems like home to me.

I think i'm just a little self-conscious or something. The whole time I was like "I do not fit in with these rich people and they totally know it" :rotfl: It just felt like i'd have to be dressed up all the time and i'm a jeans and sweatshirt kind of girl! The Poly just felt more open and layed back. The GF really is something though; I could see myself getting married there. But I would honeymoon at the Poly! :lmao:

I worried as well until we parked our car over there. I kept thinking, "We so will not fit in here", but when I parked and there were three other Ford Focuses out there, I did not worry anymore.

The GF is very similar to my favorite hotel in Charleston, SC, Charleston Place, which has the only 5Star restaurant in South Carolina in it. I guess since I got enebriated to a maximum amount at Charleston Place for a girls' spa weekend, then GF does not concern me, either.

I can remember this though, and I laugh every time I think it. For the Spa weekend, there was a fitness assessment, and the lad suggested we buy a pedometer from a sporting goods store or "WalMart, if you shop there." :rotfl: There are people who don't shop at WalMart?

:lmao: If you shop there? :snooty: Next time I go to the GF i'll just make sure I have a few cocktails in me and then I won't care :rotfl2:

I can't wait to hear about you dinner!

We stayed at GF in March! We even got a free upgrade to club level! I was worried about the stuffiness and fanciness at first. With 3 kids and a not at all fancy DH and FIL I had a lot to worry about!

But really, it was wonderful! Elegant but not stuffy. The staff was top notch all the way! It was definitely deluxe! The only stuffiness we found was in a few fellow guests I could have done without. One man was soooo rude and sooo condescending to the poor girl at the desk in the lounge! I really wanted to tell him she was not an idiot and he needed to speak to her they way he wanted to be spoken to, but I held back!

We'll definitely stay at GF again in the future!
