Becky – Ina’s lemon chicken was really good, we all loved it!

Lauri – I sure hope you don’t have to have the other hip done soon. I’ll keep you in my prayers, my friend.:hug:

Janice – You are blessed to have such a bright boy who is a go-getter! I don’t even know what a freaking nook is!

Aimee – I, too, think of you daily and keep you in my prayers.:hug:

Glynis – Glad to hear your MIL’s house was spared. I swear this has been an insanely crazy weather year!

Robin – I can imagine how hard it is to concentrate with construction going on. I’m finding it harder and harder to keep up here myself and I have no excuse.:sad2:

Jen, or is it Bertha now?:laughing: – I’ve often wondered how the Marlboro man sandwich was. That’s a lot of Worcestershire sauce!

PIO – Hopefully your schedule will let up a bit. Hug

Brandi – I’m sorry you didn’t get a chance to do anything Disney while in Orlando. Hopefully you’ll be able to rest up today. Have a safe flight tomorrow! Your wedding pics are just beautiful!:love:

I am not sure how much info she wants posted on a public forum so I will just say that Ellen and the two mommy's-to-be need all the prayers and/or good thoughts you can spare.

WFD - Bacon wrapped chipotle shrimp, charred corn relish and rice pilaf.

it is official... I have everything purchased, wrapped, and mailed out for Christmas.... Whew. Man does that feel good.....

We still need to wrap and mail. But everything's bought!

Miss Ellen...thinking of you. :hug:

Well....it's been another frantic week over here. I can't see this pace settling down until the week of the 20th. Between work and DS' activities and school....we're pretty much running to keep up with ourselves. :sad2:
I'm up to R in my address book with card writing. I might burn the midnight oil tonight to finish the rest off so that I can get them in the mail on Monday.

And still you find time to cook all these lovely meals and post pictures here! ;) I haven't "cooked" a meal since Thanksgiving, only reheated! :rotfl2:

I got Chloe a Catch-Me-Kitty. That thing was so darn cute I couldn't help it. I REALLY wanted to get her those little push things with the balls in it that pop and make a ton of noise, but I couldn't find one. You know, the thing the kids love and parents hate, lol.
I ended up picking Ryan a CAT "transporter" truck that has a mini truck on it's bed. It looks fun and someone can play WITH him with it since it has 2 trucks. Not bad, right?

I will let you know how things go today. Thank you for all of your help! :hug:

At the bolded, that was very mischevious of you Lindsay :lmao: I'm sure they'll both like their gifts.

Alison, I am glad to hear that Fran is doing better, wishing all the best for both of you!

I hope she starts feeling better, turns out the more severe the infection the longer the waiting period to resume the drugs. She got a cortisone shot which is helping and the Dr. will see her before our trip to Vegas just to give her the aOkay and another shot to help her through. Hopefully in January she can get the drugs, but it may be as long as February

Safe travels to Colorado!

Allison- I think it is crazy the prices that meds cost! How is Fran feeling lately?

Dinner is out with teh family. The kids want to go to "Joey garlic's" which is a good 50 minutes away. Buddy, who does not like to drive more than 15 minutes to dinner is already :confused: so this will be interesting :lmao:

Hope your dinner went OK with the drive! :rolleyes: I know, some meds are so expensive. I guess that's why they call RA the Rich Man's drug. We'll see how she does we are going to the Candlelight Processional at Disneyland tomorrow night. I hope the crazy winds we've been having skip DLR!

Chicken Enchilada Soup

That is it! And it is sooooo good. I made some quick bisquick biscuits to accompany the soup and it is delicious!!!

That sounds really good, I'll have to remember this one!

Good for you! I haven't even received Christmas lists from anyone in my family. Maybe they will all get gift cards! :lmao:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tonight I'm making what I call Pounded Chicken Florentine/Deconstructed.
I just pound a chicken breast flat, cut it in half, season it and saute for a few minutes. Then I put some defrosted frozen spinach a little mozzarella on top, pour a drizzle out of my glass of wine. I bake that and the "naked" breast for about 8-10 minutes. Then I put a bowl of nuked frozen spinach on the plate with the naked one and that's Fran's dinner. I have the one with the goodies on top of the chicken.
Easy peasy. I'm too tired too cook.
We have to clean our "hoarders" house up this week. I'm trying to adopt a new cat, and the people actually come and "inspect" your house. I guess because this kitty is coming from a house that was 300 square feet and the woman had 37 cats in there. All malnourished and the house was filled with, well you can guess! :eek: They don't want to send them back out from the frying pan and into the fire.
We made some good progress this afternoon and my living room is almost to the point where you could call it "slightly cluttered". We threw out a ton of old papers, found all kinds of things I had been missing and I can now walk around both sides of my coffee table to get to the television! :lmao:
Well......we do have to eat and I don't have the benefit of having made a big thanksgiving meal. :laughing:
Sounds more like things are moving along the right way out..! ;)
WFDT...a salmon loaf. Will post pictures and recipe at some stage.
We made it back safe and sound but I fly out again tomorrow for Colorado... This work stuff is getting in the way of my personal life.
Be safe!
Lindsay, I am glad you are feeling better, and you must have a heart of gold.... I could not do it. I can't, don't and won't take anything from anyone.... No matter if they are family, friends or both. I call complete strangers out when they do stupid stuff, so I just am so proud of you!
You need many many thanks from everyone.:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:
*Sigh* I truly need to work on my comebacks. The party yesterday was killer.
Ace of Cakes (Duff Goldman from the Food Netowrk) made our cakes...
:scared1::scared1::scared1: <-- best things I can do for a jaw-drop! How cool!!!!!
Today we are going to a local Greek restaurant for spaghetti and meatballs. I need some comfort food. I will come back later and tell you how the party went.
Goooooooood morning y'all! :hug:
We had a wonderfully relaxing day yesterday, including watching movies. We finally got around to watching Water for Elephants...LOVED it! But, I thought the book was better.
Today's dinner is crockpot jambalaya...a new recipe. I'll post pics and the recipe later.
It's been raining here for 2 days, and it's supposed to continue today. Except we might even get a wintery mix they say! :scared1: Today's high is supposed to be in the mid 40's, tomorrow too, and Tuesday only in the 30's. :faint:
Hope everyone has a great Sunday!
wow, that is some not nice weather.... I hate that I am going to Colorado, I am not ready for snow, the weather service is calling for snow when my plane is landing, does not make me feel good about it....
So I am flying into Denver but staying in Colorado Springs... Does anyone have a couple of suggestions for dinner?
I have no recommendations, just wanted to say be safe! Do you have to drive yourself around?
And UncleR's favorite airport in the world is the Denver airport. :teeth:
Thanks.... DH is really worried about me up there on my own... it is cute, but I can tell he is not happy!
Yeah I have to drive myself, and not looking forward to driving from Denver to Co Springs tonight when I get in, since they are calling for that snow.... ugh...
So what makes this airport her favorite?
I don't even know how far Co Springs is from Denver. When we've done Colorado, we're mostly south in Durango (my favorite place). Just be careful. :hug:
Denver Airport has a nice little bar/food joint where you can smoke. That is the reason it's her favorite. :lmao: When we were coming back from getting married and our honeymoon this summer, we had quite a layover in Denver. She found this place where she could stop over and she was quite happy. ;)
oh ok... I understand...
It looks like according to google maps I have 1.5 hrs to drive.... so it will be dark when I get there... I need to stop worrying over this and just go pack....:eek:
WFD? I don't know, Candlelight Processional Dinner Package out at Disneyland tonight! I've never been before, so I have no idea what to expect. We're leaving in less than three hours, so I better get my butt out of bed and find something warm to wear!
Hi, everyone! It's a really cold day here! We've had snow, on and off all day long. It's melting as soon as it hits the ground, but still!
Dinner tonight is sweet and savory ribs, steamed broccoli and rice.
Alan's got a fire going in the stove, so I'm going to go huddle around it and try to get warm!
Ellen - Congrats to the new mommy!!!!
