Our wedding song was ENglebert's "This Moment in Time":cloud9: We also got to see Wayne Newton. He was one of the best shows I have ever been to.

I walked in to Elvis Presley "Can't help fallin in love" and walked out to Led Zepplin "all of my love"

We had a great time picking out songs....

Hi everyone!!!

I am back!! We had a wonderful time, and it was so nice to get away for awhile.

Please keep Elizabeth in your prayers. She is really struggling and so ready for this baby to be born. The nursery is ready, diapers bought and now just the uncomfortable waiting. Stephanie on the other hand is doing great and is so enjoying being pregnant. Itsn't it funny how that goes?!!

Glad you made it back safe and sound, plus had a great time!

Prayers for both...:grouphug:

Today I spent a lot of the day going back and forth to one of our properties to check up on the electrician. He had to replace eight light fixtures and add two photo sensors so that the place wasn't a death trap at night being pitch black. It also cost a pretty penny. Not good when three of our apartments are vacant. He finally wrapped up at 6:30PM and will have to come back Friday to troubleshoot one last light.

On the other front, the Doctor said that she can stop taking her antibiotic, so now we can schedule her in for an RA infusion. It's been over 2 months since the last one so her joints are freezing up and she can hardly move her hands.

Hopefully we'll make that Vegas trip!

Alison, I am glad to hear that Fran is doing better, wishing all the best for both of you!

OK we are back... I have a ton of pages to catch up on, you all were busy while I was away....

We made it back safe and sound but I fly out again tomorrow for Colorado... This work stuff is getting in the way of my personal life.

Good thing I was caught up on all my Christmas shopping.:laughing:

Welcome back!!!

So sorry that things are so busy. Hope things settle down for you! :hug:

:love: What lovely pictures! It looks like the Beach Club in a way!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I went ahead and made the enchilada soup so we could have it for lunch and dinner. Dang, it's good.
I've also made fresh salsa and seasoned crackers. I want to do cookies as well, but that may wait for tomorrow.
I'll post the recipe and pics later.
Aimee- how are you feeling? I worry about you Sweetie :hug: I love my flavored vodkas! My favorite is one made with fresh pineapples. We paid $18 apiece for these and they were delicious! But I figured I could make them for much less at home. Imagine my surprise when I found they shared their recipe!
This is a very versatile martini. In the summertime I buy blue raspberry martini mix and add it to the vodka. It is lovely.
Del Frisco VIP Martini
1 ripe golden pineapple, sliced into
1-inch-thick chunks
1 liter premium vodka
1 orange, scored for twists for
garnishes
Soak the pineapple in the vodka in
an airtight container for eight to
ten days.
Carefully strain off the vodka and
squeeze the remaining juice from the
pineapple through cheesecloth. Pour five
to six ounces of the pineapple-vodka
infusion into a shaker half filled with ice.
Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled
ten-ounce marti
Gracious, you have been busy! :hug:
This week has been hard... esp last night. I hope things get easier with time. I ended up picking up dinner for us - his choice, Taco Bell. Why a woman with Crohns thinks its a good idea to eat Taco Hell (as we call it) I'll never know.
I haven't been to the store so we're going out tonight and use a coupon. I'll shop tomorrow.
OK so we call it Barfo Hell and we can't eat it either...
UncleR Christmased the house out while I was at work. I came home to Christmas and it is soooo nice.
Plus, she wrapped my surprises and put them under the tree with which to torture me until Christmas! :rolleyes1
Second, we call it Taco Hell too. :lmao: Except I won't eat it. I call it Mexi-can't. :laughing:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We practiced for our Christmas video for work again after school today. We're filming tomorrow. Our pod is wearing matching purple tees with purple blingy Santa hats. :teeth:
That is sweet to come home and have things decorated.... I can't hardly get David to help me, might less do something on his own...:sad2:

The video sounds great and must be a lot of fun working on it.

I don't know how you do it :dance3: I would be a mess! I hope things slow down soon!
you know it is not my favorite thing in the world to do, but they pay me well and treat me wonderfully. I hate being away from home but..... I have worked myself up to a position where I am the Subject Matter Expert, and I helped create the "Program" so I am really the only Technical person who understands it. So therefore I go...

One more question. I have always done one of these :sad2: when I see people ask about this or say they've done this, but I'm considering it and I wanted your thoughts. I thought about picking up Ryan a little something and giving it to him tomorrow. There's a long story why. I have always felt like he's gotten the short end of the stick in life so I really try to fuss over him. (I am a stepchild myself, so I can see where he hurts) Especially since Chloe came along, I feel he gets left behind at times. I already told Scott that if I see this happening tomorrow, that I will pull Ryan aside and play with him so he doesn't feel totally left out. I know, I know, life is not fair and kids need to learn this, but this is different, you know? And I'm not talking making a big production with a $100 gift, or anything. Just something small I can give him so he will feel special and know his Aunt Kitty and Uncle Scott love him! Let me know what you guys think. Feel free to tell me I'm over analyzing :blush:
Ryan sounds like a wonderful little boy and there is nothing wrong with getting him something too. I have done this many times and it just helps when they are younger to understand that they are not the Birthday person, but that they were not forgotten... After they get older I stop doing it, but you know him better so just do what your heart tells you.

I see nothing wrong with it.

Well, it seems pretty calm out there today, and I hope it is, because I have to drive to bowling. An hour north of here there are 50,000 people without power. At my MIL's house, there are trees down everywhere. She and her husband were lucky, and their house was spared, but they are still without power. I think Alan will be heading up there today, to make sure they have food, warmth, etc.

Dinner tonight will be Italian chicken in the crock pot.

Hopefully everyone is doing good there now.

So, last night's dinner was....soup! Cauliflower soup this time. It was really good. Here is the recipe:

Spicy Cauliflower Soup
Yummy, this sounds great....

I'm also perturbed. UncleR wanted new pillows as one of her Christmas presents. I know that seems strange, but she wanted the Gooooooooood pillows...the ones that cost a bit more and make you want to never leave your bed. Well, the ones we ordered came today and they are AWFUL. We're going to try a different set. :headache: And returning these is a hassle, I wish I would have researched that before I ordered through the company. That is my fault. :headache:
We have these pillows that are memory foam, and each side is shaped different for sleeping on your back our your side. At first, I could not see myself changing the pillow while I slept, but I have to tell you that I do it all the time now and never really wake fully up to do it...:rotfl: I hate being without my pillow when I travel...

I wanted to ask...
Had anyone made flavored vodka at home? I wanted to make some for XMas gifts. And for myself :woohoo: I am tempted by bacon vodka... but it's really good in bloody mary's which I think are disgusting. So, now I'm tempted to try the skittle vodka instead. Or maybe citrus? What flavor would you want to receive? I picked up a huge bottle at Costco and need to get it going ASAP so it'll be ready for XMas.

I thought it might be a good idea to start on XMas gift ideas :laughing:

I really like the flavored vodkas.... Horseradish is wonderful for bloody Marys, Bacon also works great for Bloody Marys... I tend to drink Cranberry the most. I just pour it over ice and top it off with Cranberry Ginger Ale.

David like the Spicy pepper version of flavored vodkas. Good luck with those gifts...

Becky- Buddy and I are doing something like that for Nola and Rylee this year. I always buy Christmas pajamas for all my girls and I did this year. I will give the two little ones a little Cabbage Patch Doll with hair and eyes to match their own but I bought some bigger gifts that we will give to the two of them. They play together and like to pretend so I asked Welby what she thought. Turns out she is doing teh same thing for the Santa gifts. Most will be for the two of them to enjoy.

Lindsay- Of course I did not think you were favoring one over the other!! It is easy to give that impression though especially if the parents are not very good at hiding their own preference :headache::mad::sad2:. I just wanted you to be aware that these two will probably be seeing differences later on and you don't want to get trapped in Kevin and AManda's little mess.

Robin- how is the construction coming?

Jen- sounds like you had a great day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pillows aside :headache:

Allison- I think it is crazy the prices that meds cost! How is Fran feeling lately?

PIO- You are way ahead of me! I have not started cards yet and will not until sometime next week. I am almost done decorating and have made good progress shopping. i don't do much anymore, I actually hate it now! I love how the house looks when it is done and I do leave it up until the first week in january but my goodness! You are right, it is a lot of work!

Brandi- Welcome Home!!! Your pictures are wonderful! You were a beautiful Bride marrying that handsome guy!

Dinner is out with teh family. The kids want to go to "Joey garlic's" which is a good 50 minutes away. Buddy, who does not like to drive more than 15 minutes to dinner is already :confused: so this will be interesting :lmao:

Jen - the soup sounds great.

Brandi Duff is my hero:lovestruc How did the cake taste.

I am back from running my errands. I so love doing that in the rain:rolleyes1

WFD is catfish, collards and maybe mac n cheese (not the blue box kind ;))

Well back to rearranging my living room for my tree. Maybe 1 day I can have a big enough room so I don't have to move stuff around the house.:rotfl:

Each layer was different so we had 6 different flavors.... They were all wonderful, people still talk about the cardamom and pistachio, and pumpkin chocolate chip, so those were the best... But the cake was wonderful. He gave us another cake for our 1 year anniversary. Said that frozen cakes after a year were nasty and not save it...:sad2:

Brandi - I'm loving the pictures. Your cakes from the Ace of Cakes are amazing....and you and David make a LOVELY couple. You look gorgeous!

hmmm this sounds way too easy... my kind of dish...

Sometimes I make these mayo rolls, they are super easy and fast...

1 c. milk
1/4 c. mayonnaise
2 c. self rising flour

450 degree oven.. Coat muffin pan with mayo and put in oven to warm up with the oven.

Mix everything together and spoon into hot muffin pan and cook for 10 minutes, they will be golden brown and almost fall part...
