The kids are having PB and Js with string cheese and apples.....

After they go to bed I'm going to try out a recipe I got from Pinterest(I am all set to high five your faces Goofylover and Remus) for PF Chang's Lettuce Wraps...

But...there is ONE problem with the wraps...Wal-Mart had no ground chicken or turkey breast(just regular ground, with the dark meat:sick:) so I'm using ground chuck....

Hopefully it turns out because I am really looking forward to it.

Cool! You should post a pic!

I am going to post them to FB. :thumbsup2 Since they have the boys last names on it I won't post them here. I may have the one that says Sample on it, have to check the box with the big tag board in it to see if I ended up with it. If so I will take a pic and post it here.

Kathy- So is oyster dressing really good? It sounds strange to me, but maybe it's like stuffed clams. My dad currently has a surplus of oysters, this time of year you can get 5 quarts per week with your shellfish permit and since they keep so well he loads up if the tides right. We usually just slurp them down but maybe I should try the dressing.

You can always ship some here if you have too many! :thumbsup2 I love oysters although not really in dressing, I prefer them raw or fried.

Dinner tonight is chili. Going to try and get some major cleaning started. Found out yesterday that my Dsis is going out of town this weekend and she needs a chief cook and driver for the girls. Also got crap for the fact that I missed the last two swim meets :flower3: and one of the girls has a meet Sunday. So I have to get my cleaning for next week started now.

If it's the one they have online :scared1: It's a 1000 meter freestyle, which means the oldest is swimming and she is going to be nasty mean to begin with and TIRED at the end of it. As she likes to tell her DM, she just dies at the end. :rotfl:

Dinner tonight is blackened salmon, chipotle sweet potatoes, and roasted broccoli. I'm also testing out a french silk pie, but DH doesn't know, and he'll be thrilled to find out when he comes home!

So Bud got a bit of an earful from his coworker yesterday. He used to partner with Buddy's partner and broke off the partnership for the same reason. Unreasonable outbursts that were not really explainable. The one that put him over the edge was not answering his cell fast enough. What part of truck drivers cannot talk on cell phones did he not understand? Buddy did not want to bring any of this up but his friend was waiting at the timeclock at 5 AM and had already head some of the tale from Joe.

We will walk from this but I think that Buddy intends to go talk to Bill, he said he cannot leave it like this. I told him I need to stay home for that conversation, no good would come from my temper. Since Marisa is going to be joining the ranks of the unemployed next summer I need her to handle the books on this contract. I am not good at this and we cannot make a mistake. She reconciles accounts and manages ledgers for a living so hopefully she has time ;)

I missed a lot and I am sorry but I forget what I wanted to say ;)

I'm so sorry Buddy (and you) are having to go through this!

I hear beer at times like these is good. ;)

Jen - Good for you, for starting your decorating! Alan has a strict "no Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving" rule. We drag out our stuff the Sunday after Thanksgiving, as that gives me time to get all our Countdown Calendars in place for the first of December.

On tap for today? Yup, you guessed it! Another fun-filled day cleaning Chez Glynis! The end is in sight though. All I have left to do is clean out the refrigerators, change the sheets in the Guest room and vacuum, vacuum, vacuum the basement! Oh, yeah, I also need to narrow down the list of pies the kids gave me. Gotta get going on that!

Dinner tonight will be quesadillas, green salad and Mexican rice.

We wanted to have some holiday stuff up for when my dad comes next week. Otherwise, I'm an after Thanksgiving gal too!

Hope you're nearing the end of cleaning!

Jen ~ U bet on the presents. Hummmm let's see how can we get together. :lmao:
Cousin Chris and family live at the base of the Mountains. Love it. Last year we went out for the Balloon Fiesta - Amazing!!
Your menu sounds great!!

WFDT ~ Vegetable soup (in the crockpot), homemade rye bread (in the machine ready when I get home) and cranberry cookies.

Make it a great day everyone.

I love the Balloon Fiesta. My favorite balloons are the bees that hold hands. Did you get to see them? :goodvibes

Cranberry cookies, eh? Do we have this recipe!

...what's for dinner? :scratchin Hmmmm, lesseee....I threw short ribs and country spare ribs into my crock pot, sprinkled with freshly cracked pepper, and added 2 cloves of chopped up garlic, 3 oz. soy sauce, 2 oz. red wine, 5 or 6 oz BBQ sauce, 1 T. chopped ginger, 1 oz rice wine vinegar, and 2 diced scallions. I'll serve it later [with white rice] after it simmers on low for about 6 hours....YUMMY!!!

Sounds divine!

So I ma done for the day! My steamer was going in overdrive today and finally I feel like some areas of my house are clean enough for company. I have roughhewn pine boards for wainscoting in the living room and office. It goes well with the house but you cannot clean it and I hate dust. I use a steam buggy and blast it off. I use it on the stones on the fireplace too and they were pretty awful after all those days the fireplace went 24/7 last month.

Marisa brought home Krispy Kreme donuts (thinking of my little buddy Hailey :goodvibes)!!!!! and I have been eating them all day. Dinner is officially sandwiches because the thought of eating is making me cringe.

You are aware, aren't you, that calories consumed whilst cleaning one's house are negative calories, and do not impact your hip size at all. :rolleyes1

I'm sure they'll be great! I love PF Chang's lettuce wraps.

Awesome! I'm looking forward to seeing them!

Today is over. 3 more work days till vacation! :cool1:

Today was semi-busy, but not as bad as yesterday. But, we were doing fun stuff in speech all day! We made turkey cookies, made from turkeys and candies. I posted a pic on FB.

During my last group, one of my 6th graders came and told me: "Ms. Goofyluver, I just love coming to speech. Today was super fun. Thanks for being the best speech teacher ever!" :lovestruc Made my day.

Tomorrow is my very busy day of the week. By the end of the day, I'll have made a million and one turkeys. (I have two different schools that I serve) I'll never want to see a turkey again! :lmao: Then, after work I have to go shopping to finish up all shopping for Thanksgiving and I have to get things for our staff luncheon on Friday! I'm making a cranberry relish that I found on Pinterest.

Tonight's dinner was bang bang shrimp tacos, and as we speak, I have a mock apple pie in the oven.

 all around! Hope everyone goes into your Wednesday on a good note!

Your dinner sounds great!

Are you going to stop by this thread as well during your rounds? :thumbsup2
Maybe you can convince Scotlass to come bahookie!

So far so good on this new job....but then we're only in day 2. I'm definitely going to be busy...hopefully in a good way. Yes, I definitely prefer to be busy than not.

Today is Wednesday...so that means dinner at mum's.
It's also starting to warm up here and the consistent warm and sunny weather seems to be just around the corner.

Barack Obama also made the news in Oz today; he arrived for a very very short visit and to announce that up to 2500 marines will be stationed on a rotational basis up in the Australian base(s) in (and possibly around) Darwin. So the US hasn't been far from my mind today at all.

Have a good day all.

The Cajun chicken pasta was easy to put together and really good. I haven't made it in forever.:confused3

Not sure yet about dinner tonight.

I am going to try to eat smaller so I don't end up as big as a house by the end of this season. Someone has pasted a picture of a chubby person on my mirror again and the worse part they did it on all the mirrors :scared1:

Hope everyone is doing well.

Hey you guys! Just popping in really quick. Yesterday I made a huge pot of chili so we'll be having that. I know I posted the recipe MANY WFD threads ago but if you want another one on this index, let me know and I will post it.

Tomorrow I will do a full review and pictures from our trip. We had a great time and I can't wait to tell you all about it. I am up to my eyeballs in things to do and I need to get cracking. I'm sorry I've been MIA.

Also, I want to apologize for being a total dork. I was updating the index and realized I was just copying and pasting food porn links and not titling what the pictures were. DOH!!!! I will fix that here in the next few days. Sorry about that; I'm not sure what my logic was in doing that.

Please pray for me and/or send good thoughts. I've still got a bit of a drainage-y cough I can't get rid of. I will probably go back to the doctor tomorrow. I am so sick of feeling sick.

See you guys later!

Who would paste pictures all over your house like that? :rolleyes1

3 more work days till vacation.

Today will be a beast of a day, and as it is, I'm barely standing up today I'm so tired. Today is my last full day before Thanksgiving though, even though I'll be at work tomorrow and Friday. If I can get through today, I'm golden! :cool1:

Tonight's dinner is tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches, cause sometimes you just need tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches! :)

Y'all have a great Wednesday.

Lindsay Be careful with that cough. There are cases of whooping cough up here. Nothing to play with.

Best compliment ever!!!!!!!!!!!
Would you share the mock apple pie recipe?

Mmmmmm. Sounds like we may be needing a pie recipe from you!

Yup, we do!!!!!!!!!!!

So far so YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on teh new job!

I hope we are on your mind in a good way. My nephew Chris was assigned to Marine 1 until a few days ago. I always felt that one of the best aspects of his job was getting to travel to faraway lands. I know he would have loved to see your beautiful country!

Please pray for me and/or send good thoughts. I've still got a bit of a drainage-y cough I can't get rid of. I will probably go back to the doctor tomorrow. I am so sick of feeling sick.

Get thee to the DR! Up here there are cold type bugs that need multiple antibiotics. I have not worked at several folks homes because I refused to step foot inside even while they are on antibiotics because so many people have had no luck with the first one they were placed on.

I generally post a recipe if it has not been posted in a long time. I am no good at searching through those first threads that got broken up into several threads so I figured other folks may be search impaired as well.

Lindsay Be careful with that cough. There are cases of whooping cough up here. Nothing to play with.

Oh gosh! Not that too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today I am going to try that chicken dish once again. I have a to-do list a mile long but I need to focus in on dinner before all of that!

Have a great day all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning, all!

Jen - Another case of great minds thinking alike, today! We are having tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches, too!

Lindsay - Thanks for taking the time to do the index!

Janice - Someone did the same thing to my mirrors! How rude!

Today is a HUGE errand day for me, and Katie just came in to tell me that her stomach and throat are hurting. Looks like she'll be staying home from school today. If she's fever free, I'll probably leave Timothy with her while I do errands. It will be much easier, at least on me! I've got to do his birthday shopping... my little guy will be 3 on the 27th of this month!

Have a great day, everyone!

You've got it, get well soon!

Hopefully your day won't be too bad.

I hope Katie feels better soon!

WFD - Chicken parm with a tomato caper sauce (from the plainchicken site), angel hair pasta and roasted green beans.

Kathy- Thanks for the stuffing recipe, I'm definatly using it with or without oysters. I love the idea of putting jalepenos in it. I'll put a little New England twist on it and use linguisa instead of anduille, it will be a bit easier to find.

Alison- I am so far from being on top of things. I just went to the store to get things I know I would use, like butter and canned pumpkin. I even forgot to get the turkey which is probably for the best since I don't think I have room in the freezer for it. I just need a small turkey and they tend to go quick.

Glynis- Sorry Katie isn't feeling well enough but hope she's fine to watch Timothy. I can't believe he is almost three!!

Lindsay- Feel better!

Jen- I hope you enjoy your dinner, but I NEVER need tomato soup! We do onion soup with our grilled cheese.

Marilyn- Sorry, don't think oysters will ship to well! I love fried oysters too, a great way to ease into them. They are so much more tender than clams.

I think we are going to have bisquick cheeserburger pie and a big salad for dinner. Have a great day all!

Good morning friends,

Robin ~ I love, love, love oyster dressing. My Momma made a very good and basic one. If you would like I can try to go find it. I have only opened her recipe box up once (:sad1:) to find a special recipe. But if you would like it I will for you.

Nan ~ Pie night!! How wonderful. Oh how I wish I was closer.

Glynis ~ I just had to laugh at you trying to keep the house clean. When my kids were little, my SIL gave me a pillow that said - "Cleaning House with children is like shoveling the driveway when it's still snowing." So true!!

Merle ~ You had better make the swim meet this weekend or you will be SOL!!

Kat ~ Have a great day my friend.

Jen ~ YES - the bee's were one of your favorites also. Along with the Darth Vader, Stage Coach, Pink Panther, etc. :lmao:
I would love to take credit for the cookies but they were premade. Our youth group sold them as a fund raiser. They were boxed, frozen and pre cut. So neat, cuz you can just bake a few at a time.

Well it's Wednesday and only 3 more days till I leave for vacation. WooHoo!!! I have a lot to get done - but I will prevail. I WILL!! I can't wait. Matthew will be home Saturday afternoon after he gets off at the bank. He is just as excited as we are. The girls aren't going this year - Elizabeth is too close to having the baby and Marty used all his vacation when we went to Panama. So it will be just the 3 of us. But Doug's Sister and family are going, so we will caravan down with them. Again - I can't wait!!!

WFDT ~ American Chop Suey, roasted corn, green salad and rye bread.

Make it a great day my friends.

Marilyn- Sorry, don't think oysters will ship to well! I love fried oysters too, a great way to ease into them. They are so much more tender than clams.

Darn!

Merle ~ You had better make the swim meet this weekend or you will be SOL!!

Too true! :thumbsup2

Dinner tonight will be something with shrimp. Got a great deal at the store last night. They had the small 51/60 count shrimp on sale for $7.98 for a 2 lb bag and because they were out the subbed the bigger 20/25 count $27.98/2 lb. bags. :woohoo:

Ellen- Thanks, but I'm going to use Kathy's recipe. But...I do think you should open your mother's recipe box. My mom asked me to look through her box for a recipe while she was away. I ended finding some my Gram wrote or typed up. It was hard, but fun at the same time. Maybe you'd find forgotten recipes and memories.

Kathy- The oyster recipe looks really good. We grill clams pretty often, but never oysters for some reason.

Hello! I tried to read back and think I am caught up...I think.

Lindsay I hope you are feeling better today.

Ellen, where are you going on vacation? Disney?

Glynis, I am glad you are almost done with your cleaning! Sounds like you have been a powerhouse.

PIO, those canneloni look really delicious! I have not made those in a long time. May have to add them to the list.

I see you were all talking about oyster stuffing. I love oysters, both cooked and raw, but for some reason oyster stuffing doesn't sound right to me! I think it is the combination of fish with meat. Like that famous Italian dish vitello tonnnato--veal with tuna sauce....I don't get it! But so many of you like it, maybe I will try it sometime. I cannot believe Thanksgiving is in a week!

WFD: cheese souffle, baguette, and baby greens salad with mustard vinaigrette.
