Brandi - I hope you had fun in Mexico and have a safe trip home!

Lindsay - I had Greek for dinner last night, hope you enjoy it!

PIO - enjoy your leftovers!

Jen - so glad you are enjoying your time off!

Marilyn - I'm glad you have a "normal" in your life! There is no such thing in mine!

Ellen - I have a hard time with change too, but with how crazy my life ended up turning out, I just live with it!

Nancy - glad you had a nice albeit hectic holiday. Take some time to relax!

We had such a long drive and day yesterday, I want to make something simple and easy for dinner. I've been going through all the mail and paying bills, so I haven't had any time to figure out what that will be. I need to go to the grocery store and maybe it will hit me while I'm there!

I hope it was as good for you....as it was for me. :teeth:

From looking at it, I sincerely doubt it.

Welcome home. Hope you guys had a great time overall.

How's Fran doing?

She's slept the entire day, til 11 in bed, till 2 on the recliner and now on the loveseat. :rotfl:

We decided on KFC for dinner. I need to go to the grocery store, but I've been opening mail and paying bills all day, so I don't feel like cooking. However after all the budgeting I don't feel like spending money either!

Folks....I've been considering signing up to Pinterest. What do I need to know about it; aside from it being seriously addictive?
From what I can see, I need to sign up with my 3D name....

Ok, I totally boo-booed in my menu planning for this week. I was going to make spaghetti today, but we had it last night. Scott's response was, "So? Make it anyway. It's 2 different spaghettis." :lmao:So that's what we're having. I'm going to make mine in a meat sauce, no meatballs.

OMG, PIO.

I think I licked the screen.
Same here!!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I believe, but don't quote me, that once you sign up that you can "disconnect" your pinterest account from whatever account you used to sign up (like FB or twitter). But, I don't know how to do it.

And yes, it is seriously addictive.

Good morning!!!

Today we're going to Walmart to let J and Big C spend their gift cards. While we're there, we're going to shop for the next few weeks.

I have no idea what's for dinner, but I'm craving big, juicy hamburgers, so I'm going to turn to the lady in the chair next to me, and see if I can make her crave them to so that she'll make her yummy burgers. :lmao:

Y'all have a great Wednesday!!

Please say a few prayers for me for the next 3 weeks or so. I feel a bit anxious with all that needs to be done. I know it will be just fine as long as I take one thing at a time but the overall scheme of things is really overwhelming. Thanks so much.

Like Dory says "just keep swimming".

I know just what you mean!

Although I'm loving my time off and back to normal means back to work.

During this week we are on a "come to work and leave work when you want to" schedule. On top of that there are only about 1/3 of the staff here at any time and my phone rings rarely so it's a little boring. :rotfl:

One good thing, I got here at 9:20 today and got a front row parking spot. :thumbsup2

Not sure what is for dinner tonight. Supposed to be having Christmas with my BFF but I am not ready. :headache:

Well we are back... Sleep in way too much this morning. But oh well.

I have to go back and catch up.

But....
I just wanted to let everyone know that cooking dot com has two Le Ceruset (i know I am spelling it wrong but I am too lazy to look it up) bakers on sale for $35.95

This is about half price. I really like this stoneware.

For Christmas, UncleR surprised me with a gift that absolutely blew me away. She got me the entire set of pasta making attachments for our KitchenAid.

And now, I am dern-right determined to learn to make homemade pasta. I'm so excited.

Sooo, I thought I'd ask you ladies for some specific ideas and opinions.

First, have you ever made homemade pasta? What recommendations do you have? Or tried and true recipes that you promise won't fail? Any tips?

Also, my one specific want is to learn to make lo mein noodles. Not lo mein (I can do that), but the noodles themselves. Does anyone have a recipe for the lo mein noodle? When I search, all I'm finding is more recipes for chicken lo mein or veggie lo mein. I want to make the noodles.

Any help would be extremely appreciated. :flower3:

You can do it! I'll be thinking of you

I have made linguini with my kitchenaid. I used Mario Batali's fresh pasta recipe. It worked well. Here's a link to the recipe:

I have never made lo mein noodles so can't help there, sorry!

Here's a photo of last night's cod cheeks and fennel risotto:

WFD: I have leftover cod so am thinking of making fishcakes.

Hi everyone! I hope you all had wonderful Christmases. I did! We went over to Laura's for breakfast and presents, and then everyone came back here for more presents and dinner. It was very fun!

Glynis, that Debbie Reynolds story is very cool. What an amazing experience that must have been!

Lindsay, i can imagine how frustrated that must have been for you. The thermodynamics book cracked me up!

Welcome back to our traveling ladies.

PIO, fantastic pictures! Your Christmas eve meal had me drooling. And Jen, I think I need to make that crack bread....quick before I start my new year's diet!

I didn't take a lot of pictures at Christmas, it was kind of hectic. Here is what I got. Four bone aged rib eye, ready for the oven:

Cooked and being sliced:

WFD tonight: seared cod cheeks in a pernod-lemon sauce over fennel risotto. I am off work this week so will be doing a lot of cooking.

I hope everyone is well!

I had told my DH that I wanted to do a prime rib roast for New Years... But your rib eye looks so juicy and i know it taste so much better with all that marbling of fat... Yummy...

Hi everyone,

We had a wonderful Christmas - really different - but still nice. I find that the older the kids get, the more I have to share. And even though I know I have to, sometimes I don't like it. :guilty: I am a person that doesn't do change real well and this Christmas was full of change. But at the end of the day we had a really nice time.

Please say a few prayers for me for the next 3 weeks or so. I feel a bit anxious with all that needs to be done. I know it will be just fine as long as I take one thing at a time but the overall scheme of things is really overwhelming. Thanks so much.

WFDT ~ Creamed Hamburger over mashed potatoes, beets and strawberries. Comfort food at it's best!!

Make it a great day my friends.

Thinking about you....
