The What's For Dinner Thread - November '09(recipe index in OP)

Been a super busy morning, brought new Saints balloons to cemetary and missed a call from the Scottish Division of the Who Dat nation!
!

:headache: Damn...when I saw you were not in I was hoping I had dialed the wrong number.

What with the answer machine ( they scary me ) and trying to remember to speak English so youse could understand me I must have sounded like a right bletherin eejit !!

Who Dat baby !! :cool1:

So happy for all my NOLA lassies, thanks for bringing me along for the ride.

My turn to ask for prayers...if you could all keep DM in your prayers today. .

Sendin love and good vibes ower the water tae yer mammy.

Liam was jumping up and down this morning when I told him the Saints won. :yay:

So was the boy.
He asked me to wake him to see the presentation if they won...at 3.15 am,yeh right !!

When he woke this morning he was mad but I told him I did wake him and he came down to watch but he must have been so sleepy he didnt remember.;)

He bought it the wee scone !! :rotfl2:

I loved seeing Peyton Manning's bitter face, HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

.

Becky , I dont know why but you shocked me....It seem sports bring out the dark side of every one !!

The whole thing is so sad.....

I am so mad Im actually shaking !!

I actually cant post what I think.

Those poor wee boys.:sad1:

BBL....xx

When they showed up for dinner, I had everything all done. The table set and the ham just had to be sliced. She came in and told me that her and her husband got in a fight so he stayed home. :headache: So I took his plate off the table and started to cut the ham. Then she asked if I "minded" if she didnt feed the boys my dinner. I asked her why and she said that she has never given them this kind of food. It was boiled ham, potatoes and carrots. So definately food a 2 year old can eat!!! She said that she hasnt figured out how to cook dinner yet since it is too hard to fit that in with everything else she has to do. :scared1:

So then she opens a can of beefaroni and heats it up to feed them. I all but died. Jeff is just standing there not sure what to do. He is not liked by most of his family and they think he is a bum who does nothing :sad1: Thats a whole different story...

The babies couldnt sit on the chairs, and she forgot the highchair seats, so she fed them on the kitchen floor. So by the time she was done there was beefaroni smeared EVERYWHERE!!! Kady kept asking why they were eating on the floor. :sad2:

Then announced that she was going to her car to get her to go containers to pack food to take home. I dont mind that she wanted to take some home, but dont tell me you are going to.... She packed her dinners then said "I am ready for my dessert" I was just sitting there like.... OK..... Then Jeff said lets do dessert now so she can leave!!!

The thing that concerns me is that they dont talk and they just yell. not scream, just like a AHHHHHH. that is the only noise they make. The occupational therapist said that she thinks they are understimulated. So she wants SIL to interact with each one individually for 20 minutes. One baby one hour then the other baby the next hour. She said she cant because she changes atleast 25 diapers a day and changes their outfits 7 times a day. I do not believe any of this!!!

The whole thing is so sad.....

This is the saddest thing I have ever read.:sad1:

You sounded so sweet my friend, I cried just hearing your voice!

This is the saddest thing I have ever read.:sad1:

I left out alot of the evening from my post because it was getting long. The whole situation is sad. I feel bad for the kids, because the go without alot! but the parents dont go without anything

I tried to call you to see if you wanted to come down to the Quarter with us! :rotfl2:

I want to see the game again! I couldn't watch the end! Every time I covered my eyes, they did well so I stopped watching! :upsidedow Now I need to WATCH the game, KNOWING the FANTASTIC outcome!!! :dance3::dance3::dance3:

BLESS YOU BOYS!!!!

I recorded the game, and the stuff after - WWL had three hours of post game, and I recorded the stuff on the NFL network as well!

Ann - prayers for DM. Hope it all went well.

Robin - pizzas look great!!

Downtown New Orleans was quiet this morning - no traffic on my way to work and the parking lots were empty. I'm guessing a lot of people scheduled today off, or called in sick. I know my office is happy but tired, with a few hangovers lingering. :rolleyes1

Marisa - that really is just so sad about those poor kids. I really hope something gets done. I just can't believe that she doesn't have time to cook for them - thats plain crazy.

Nan did AWESOME with the food! I would have preferred to be in NOLA to eat there, but Nan's food brought us there. Nan had one Muf left over and put it in the fridge. When we were leaving, Jeff grabbed it and said take the whole thing!! Nan was like NO WAY!! So Jeff put it under his arm like a football and ran out.. :rotfl2: I think that tells you how good they were!

:lmao::lmao: Glad Nancy's food was good! I know she put in alot of work to make it authentic!

:headache: Damn...when I saw you were not in I was hoping I had dialed the wrong number.

What with the answer machine ( they scary me ) and trying to remember to speak English so youse could understand me I must have sounded like a right bletherin eejit !!

BBL....xx

I'm guessing that whether you spoke scottish, english or jibberish, Kat would have known who was calling just from the accent!!

This is SO wrong on so many different levels. What in the world are they thinking? It makes me so darn angry to think lame brains like that are parents and there are so many that want to be and can't. Okay enough for now!! I can just feel my BP boiling.

It is so good to see you around sweetie. Are you feeling better?

DH jumped out of his chair when the intercepted but was containing his WHO DATS because the kids were in bed.

My DN's had just started downstairs for some reason, I honestly cannot remember why now, when I started screaming, I scared the crap out of both of them. :rotfl:

Thanks so much for offering to talk to us! I get so irritated but I dont say too much to my SIL because she doesnt get it. So when I am concerned I tell our pediatrician.

The whole thing is so sad.....

I've seen a lot of stupid things in my 20 plus years in childcare, it really doesn't shock me. :sad2: Some people are so clueless or horribly misinformed, makes me wonder why in the world they had kids in the first place.

Girls just left, getting ready to watch a movie. We did get out to the store my dsis rescued us! :woohoo: The company that plows and shovels our neighborhood finally showed up late yesterday and did the sidewalks and made it here today to do the streets. They usually start during the storm and keep up with it but did absolutely nothing this time.

Now we are waiting to see what happens tomorrow, they are predicting another 10 to 20 inches. :scared:

Dinner tonight is going to be steak, some sort of potatoes and a green veggie. Haven't really decided on that yet. The grocery store had ribeyes with a sell buy date later this week, I got a pack of 4 for $9. I'll freeze 3 of them. I'll have to broil it, the grill is still under a few feet of snow. :rotfl:

Quick run through. Thanks to everyone for the kindness and understanding for my baby and our situation with Kenny's step mother. Honestly, if my child were like Robin's husband and knew she had been slighted or if she were hurt, then I wouldn't be able to be the bigger person. Then there would be bloodshed.

Congrats to the NOLA girls on a wonderful win last night. I thought about texting/calling you last night but like Nancy, was scared I'd be a jinx.

Maria - I'm so sorry about the latest slap in the face from Cameron. I'm here if you need to cry/vent/scream.

Laura - Color me impressed. I can sew on a button if necessary, but that is IT. The thought that you can sew those costumes, which look very difficult, plus do all the appliques, is just mind boggling. I'm sure Caili's costume will be beautiful.

Risa - The offer stands if you need someone to talk to, especially if you need me to hit the buzz words that you need to use with the pediatrician.

Robin - Those pizzas look fantastic!

Marilyn - I hope that you are doing ok. I was thinking of you this weekend when I saw the snow reports.

Ann - Prayers for your Mom.

Vickie - I love that you were able to trick The Boy! :rotfl: Not too many years of that left, I'm afraid.

I'm sorry for anyone I've forgotten, but my brain is mush. Long day today after not enough sleep last night. Dinner tonight is baked pasta.

I am feeling really good. I am walking much steadier now and that makes me more comfortable knowing I have to walk to the car and stuff. I missed everyone!!!

They thought kids would help their marriage. That is not how it works!!!

20 inches!!! You have had enough!!!

Thanks so much! I will let you know!!!

My internet conection is funky today, hit or miss.

I am seething for Maria! I know that karma and all that but i just cannot understand the behavior that young woman displays! As you all are thinking about Marisa's nephews int eh hands of those two nitwits I think what a better life this baby would have had with Maria and Greg, Cameron is very immature.

Marilyn- wha tyou all are getting in the way of snow is crazy!

Vickie- too funny that The Boy bought your story!

Bethany- I am having trouble with FB chat. I send but it does not go through.

Afternoon all--

Got to the gym....I forgot how much I really enjoy going....it wasn't to bad either, but I am sure I will be sore in the morning!!

I am still in "Saints" fever mode.....:cool1::cool1: I can only imagine what it is like around Nola today!!!

Vicks--I love that ya tricked the boy!!!
How is "The Boy" and his friend doing? My heart just breaks for that situation.....

Marisa--I am steaming mad for the babies!!! I deal with parents like that at work weekly, and it still infuriates me to no end!!! Thank God they have you keeping your eye on them, I am glad you are able to speak to the Dr your thoughts observations and opinions!! I wish more kids had someone like you on their side!!
I am happy to hear you are healing well!!

Gretchen--I am always so happy when I see you posting...I know this is a crazy time o year for you! How goes the house?

Hmmmm have I caught up....I hope so....I must start herding the boys out, well those that walked here, and find out who is waiting for rides and when.....Ross has karate tonight......and please fingers crossed as he might be getting asked to test for his 2nd degree brown belt this Friday.

Have a good Monday evening friends

My head is so foggy today. It is either because I was too excited to sleep last night or because we are supposed to get a truckful of snow.

Maria I am glad you spent a few minutes with your mom. That helps energize you. Poor Alex heard all kinds of colorful words last night :rolleyes1 I think by now he knows to not listen and just leave me to my sports.

Marisa I am glad you are feeling better and posting again. That made me laugh thinking about Jeff with the sandwich. Alex is very protective of what he decides makes good leftovers. God help who ever takes his leftovers pirate:

Vickie I have done that to Alex. I just say I tried to wake you but you just wouldn't wake up.:rolleyes1 He can sleep through world war 3.

I hit enter before I finished.

Lauri When are you having your surgery? How are you feeling?

Marilyn--I am sorry you are getting all this snow, but ummm (SORRY FRIEND) better you then us....we haven't had a storm hit us for over a month.....granted I am sure I just jinxed us;)

Well I think this next one has your name all over it! :rotfl: ;)

This one was so bad because it sat over top of us and circled for a while then went out to sea. I hope this next one is here and gone quickly with little left in it's wake. Although, I do have lots of vacation hours I have to use by April 30th.

My biggest worry with all of this is that in 2003 when we had the last really bad snowstorm the basement flooded. The run off when it melted went in the next door neighbors back patio door and then seeped through to our basement. Their patio door sits about an inch above the patio itself, mine is several inches above it. The next owner put in a little brick wall so hopefully it will keep it from happening again.

I hit enter before I finished.

Lauri When are you having your surgery? How are you feeling?

Still working on having more test ultrasound blood test ect. Not sure
thanks for asking. PSST can you please keep the truckload by you. They say its coming up here to hoping for a snow day Wed. we'll see. If my body is any indication it's going to be a doosie hope I'm wrong.

Kathy- So happy for all you NO girls pictures have been awesome looks like so much fun down there.

Lauren- Your in my prayers and thoughts.

Ann-Prayers for your mom hope everything goes well

Aimee, good well my friend. Hope everyday improves.

Nancy, I am with you about the whole Cameron thing. Just biting my tongue.

Maria, nothing like a Mom when you need comforting. We are all here supporting you. :grouphug:

Thank you all for your prayers for DM. My DB is driving her in for the procedure, it is at 7am. I will be going over tomorrow night to make them supper if she is up to it. I will fill you all in when I am able. Love you all.

WFD- Patty melt w/ mushrooms and sauteed onions, and doritos.

Did anyone see Entertainment Tonight? Mickey Mouse was singing "Who Dat" with Drew in the parade today! I cried like a baby.

Hey friends,

I am just recovering from our post game celebrating. Neighbors were all out in the street hooping & hollering. We ended up openiing several bottles of champagne.

We are going to try to get to the parade tomorrow. Parking is always such a pain with Bob's side ramp, hopefully we'll get there.

Thanks for all the text! It's great to have such good friends!:grouphug:
