Healing and painfree thoughts are coming for the boy

Angie ~ Hi Welcome!!

Oz ~ I swear to goodness I could smell that bacon. And Yes I am also one who likes it crispy.

Janice ~ Our fair was here while we were gone, so I didn't get to go at all. No Cotton Candy for me this year - DARN!!!

Kat ~ enjoy your evening out.

Matthew is coming home tonight as he and Doug are in a Golf tournament all day Saturday and Sunday afternoon. I am so excited as I will have the house to myself all weekend. Is that a bad thing? I am going to delve in and really REALLY clean. It is so pathetic, but I am so excited. I have let things go - things are picked up, counters cleaned, no clutter but I haven't really gotten down and got the corners. And I won't have Doug in my way - life is good!!

WFDT ~ We are headed to the winery tonight - Matthew will meet us when he gets into town. We will just eat snacky stuff unless they think they need something more, if so we will head to town.

Make it a great day and weekend my friends.

:rotfl2:Now you know you need to stick around and post with us!

I want the shredded beef recipe, please!:flower3:

Jen told me y'all are very friendly 'n post a lot of fabulous pictures with your recipes so it's mighty temptin', but I'm a terrible typist unlike my wife who can type, watch TV 'n talk all at the same time.

:idea: Course, if I cook somethin' good 'n y'all want the recipe, I could ask her to post it. :lmao:

It's secret cooking language. ;)

We are having to get him heel inserts because the trainers ( sneakers ) he wears will not be helping.
He wears converse or flat soled trainers to break in and they have no support....he's not happy about this new development,its all about the cool points !! :rolleyes:

What about hightop Converse? He can wear the inserts with those and still be cool.

Yeh but Freddy the pool boy's not gonnae get me many brownie points from Jen !!!
;) :rotfl2:

Good luck to Matthew & Doug! NOT a bad thing at all...Johnny & Kyle are going to Baton Rouge tomorrow to get the last of his stuff from the apartment and I am so looking forward to my day alone.;)

Hey friends! Doing a drive-by! Busy day!

I'm sure we'll go out somewhere after the kids program tonight. Won't have time before, I don't think.

Saw the doc this morning. My only option is surgery, which I'm considering. If I do, it'll be after Advent anyways. For now, just have to live with it.

Good Saturday moaning from Oz. And my mind is in the gutter this morning!!

Princess No limp bacon :rotfl2::laughing: Thanks for the picture.

We did not make it to the County fair yet. Yesterday it rained on and off for most of the day,more on than off. It goes through Sunday. I need fair food and more importantly I think it is important to support the fair and local farmers.

Limp bacon? :rotfl2: That particular Disser calls my bacon Kangaroo bacon. I think I'm going to let it drop that it's no longer Kangaroo bacon....it's flaccid bacon....er.......meat!

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Just wanted to drop in on this thread 'n tell y'all that this peanut butter pie Jen's makin' is gonna be delicious, so delicious she licked the entire bowl clean, I got one token lick! :lmao:

What you guys do in your household in terms of licking.....please keep it to yourselves. Some of us (me) already have enough trouble with the gutter!

We have bacon ower here the same as youse guys,I love it.

We are having to get him heel inserts because the trainers ( sneakers ) he wears will not be helping.

I think Uncle Remus already has the brownie points from Jen. The rest of us are only watching from the sidelines.

Yes...I like the bacon served in the UK, Australia and Canada. I've never really understood that streaky bacon thing in the US. Maybe they just like to streak. :rolleyes:

Hope the heel inserts help your boy.

It's Friday.
It's been a long week.
I'm thinking pizza.

Still behind? Saturday morning here.....need my coffee!

We just ate the dinner. I'll post pics later. It was taunting us so we caved at exactly 4:30 p.m. :lmao:

Now I have to find room for peanut butter pie. :eek:

:rotfl:

I think I get the brownie points tonight because I made the most kick-butt dinner. :cool1:

And although it's Friday night here and I feel weird saying it...Good morning! :teeth:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We're mostly packed. I cooked and cooked some more today and did a little housework.
Now I just need Sunday to hurry up and get here so we can swim and get out of this heat! :yay:
Hope everyone's Friday was wonderful!
My first official pictures in this thread:
The shredded beef and peanut butter pie from the recipes today:
The beef was delicious! The sauce is what makes it.
And the peanut butter pie...ohhhhh, the peanut butter pie. I'd give her a hug if she had arms just to thank her for being so tasty. If you guys try either recipe, let me know!
Another drive-by-er here. I'm getting ready to head to Atlanta for the day.
Holy guacamole at the peanut butter pie!!!!!!!!!!! I am putting the ingredients for that on my grocery list. Looks absolutely to die for!
We are having lunch at Ted's Montana Grill while we are in Atlanta today.
I hope you all have a great day and stay cool!
:wave: A quick hello from me too. Dinner was very scrappy - we just looked in the freezer and pulled out some frozen dinners that we have for stand-by moments like this. I had thought we were going to do a take-away pizza; but neither DH nor I wanted to go out to pick up and we didn't want to wait 30 minutes for delivery.
DS had a good party today and his friends seemed to have fun. He's finally hit that age where the standard present seems to be a store voucher. I guess we'll have to take him shopping sometime.
I need a huge dose of patience. Shopping with my son has sucked it out of me. We can home yesterday with a backpack, postit flags and lined paper. He could not decide any shoes. :confused3 I guess I will go out and get a variety of other school supplies I think he will need but says he doesn't. Like more paper, notebooks and poster board. It becomes very hard to find this stuff come January or at the last minute for unexpected projects due tomorrow.:rolleyes1
He thought I was magic the last couple of years when this stuff magically came out of the basement. :lmao:
I think dinner tonight will be beef stir fry and homemade fried rice.
Good Morning! I really want to get back to posting everyday...if I do not, I find it so hard to keep up and feel like I am not a good friend. :flower3:
Dinner last night was spaghetti and a meat sauce with salad. It was supposed to be bolognese sauce from that sight I posted earlier this week but I left out the half and half. Tom and I have been tracking nutrition and fitness with Sparkpeople and I am down 5.5 lbs this week! I know this is coming off a week of vacation so I had gained a few extra pounds but I am under what I was before vacation. :cool1:
Tonight we are going to a neighbors. They are making the husband's awesome pork chops and I am bringing Bangin Shrimp.
Lindsay, Have fun in Atlanta. Happy Belated to Scott! I think the book date would be a great idea. It will be nice to have that one on one time. Your neice is adorable!
Sheryl, I hope Alexis is feeling better. I know you are over the moon with Jude...I am so happy for you guys! I am not sure if Vero Beach is 100% Bob friendly but I think you guys would love it. Is Member Services helpful with that kind of info?
Aimee, I hope that you can find something to keep you comfortable until your surgery.
Jen, That beef sandwich and pb pie look so ymmy!
Kat, nice chatting with you the other day...as always! I will talk to my sisters in the next cople days to see what they want to do for F&W.
I know I missed a lot bt Tommy is starting to jump all over me. Have a great day all!
Janice, I know your pain. Andrew is always last minte for every thing. I like yor idea about bying supplies and stocking them. I hate rnning to the store for last minute poster board, etc.
Aimee – I’m sorry surgery is your only option but hopefully it will solve the problem.:hug:
Lindsay – Have fun in Atlanta!
Princess – Glad to hear DS had a great birthday party!
Janice – It’s a boy thing and at age 21 Kyle still hasn’t “grown out of it”.:rolleyes1
Lauren - I hope y'all enjoy dinner with the neighbors.
WFD - Grilled ribeyes, baked potatoes and creamed spinach.
Glad the party went well!
J loves the gift cards too. They get to that age where they just like to pick out their own stuff.
Congrats on the weight loss! :cool1:
I saw the recipe for the bangin' shrimp on the first post. Do you serve it over the lettuce like it calls for? Or what else could it be served with?
WFD - Grilled ribeyes, baked potatoes and creamed spinach.
What time can we be there? :lmao:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We're taking an easy morning and watching Paula Deen. :lovestruc We'll leave in the morning for Great Wolf and I can't wait!

WFD: re-do of last night's shredded beef, only this time we're doing a potato pile-up and serving the meat over potatoes with other fixings.

And of course, more peanut butter pie, because you can NEVER have too much peanut butter pie.

Adding a surprise dessert for the guys tonight. Doing the peanut butter pie with chocolate pudding since they love Reese's cups!:goodvibes
